the unsc can start in odst pods and the elites in drop pods

I agree with the mode but I also agree about setting up unlockable rooms in the base for weapons for so many kills. I would reccomend doing this for halo reach though.

ooh my god that would be the coolest thing Xbox (and Bungie, of course) has ever done. That would put Playstation AND Call of Duty to shame.

Actually, what would be better is if people can leave AND JOIN at any time.

I like it except for the points to buy things bit. Everything else sounds awesome though.

404 error please try again later.

I would make a few minor changes but I like it

I like the idea man. I don't think that buying weapons would be good as it means that the team that's spawn killing with a lot of points could keep buying weapons while the team stuck in their crusier can't. Then again that's just my opnion of things.

Other than that I don't see why Bungie hasn't hired you already! You'd make a great employee!

This soundas like a perfect Halo war.
Now imagine some Good HaloMusic in the Background, fitting to the action.

I would definetly pay for such a huge DLC.

MAybe up to 30 euro, cause BUngie needs to change a lot. so giving them money is the least thing we can do.

"heros are remembered. legends never die."

sorry i didnt go through the whole thing but i think ghost revolver is talking about rush mode

To have a balanced map for snipers, vehicles, and CQB, make the map nice and open, but objectives you need to capture are in enclosed spaces. So snipers have a chance at taking out enemies trying to get to the objectives, but once they get there, they can take out the sniper and fight on their own turf.

Also, this seems like a reversed Battlefield game mode that I can't remember the name. You get launched UP instead of DOWN into the ENEMY'S ship, where you have to blow it up from the inside. But I do like the idea. Hopefully lag won't ruin it like it did for Halo 3.

  • 09.27.2010 10:10 AM PDT

Why not just make the game like a even bigger version of invasion and use tiers. After a certain amount of kills you can open up new armor/weapon kits like shotys snipes, etc(depending on your kills. The problem is though that I have rarely played in a big team battle that didnt have some kind of lag, or problems with people quitting. In a perfect world this would be how halo would be, but I dont think we have the power.

For The Lulz is a worthier cause than For The Win.

From the skies to the ground, I'm the one that'll reign destruction down on you from behind the wheel and the flight stick. Keep your eyes on the rear view mirror, or you may be eating exhaust aside the road, riddled with holes.

My sniper is hungry for souls.

If at first you fail, fail again so that you succeed by wrapping your fail around the continuum into the win zone.

It's an excellent idea. I've always wanted to see a Battlefield-esque game mode. Getting dropped into battle (either by HEV, Pelican, or both) is something I always wanted to see incorporated into multiplayer. I know Halo is old-school to the core (and that's awesome), but adding these elements would give it an even fresher feel. How many of us have wanted to fly a Pelican in a non-modded, non Halo CE environment? How many of us have wanted to at the very least be dropped off by said Pelican, in the midst of firefights and explosions?

That said, I've been dreaming about massive Halo battlefields (think Halo Wars, only way cooler) since Halo CE. I still am sad that the Pelican is not flyable, that UNSC Warships can't be placed as background objects, and that you can't tweak the time of day in Forge (Honestly, Bungie... Far Cry 2's map editor had this feature and that editor is far inferior in my opinion.), among other things. But I digress.

The point is that it would be amazing to have a real war-like feel to the multiplayer, at least in a single game mode, as you are suggesting here. It doesn't have to be for everything, as that would be unwieldy and unwanted. Just one mode.

I really like your ideas, particularly the bit about purchasing weapons and such from an armory on the cruiser/starting point, as well as the drop points proposition.

Weapon drops, air strikes (within reason), vehicle drops and such would be extremely cool. We can't have tanks tearing through walls or sniper rounds arcing with gravity, but we maybe could at least have some of the conventions shooters utilize today, but with the Halo flair. I don't want to see Halo turn into Call of Duty (with regard to air strikes and such) in the slightest, but Bungie has their ways, and I'm sure if they tackled this they could make it their own.

Who wouldn't love a 20v20 where Pelicans and Phantoms fly down from orbiting warships while Longswords rocket across the sky and blow a fireteam to smithereens, and troops drop onto the battlefield in HEVs? Come on, Bungie. Let's see an insane DLC multiplayer mode.

This sounds like an incredibly awesome idea. I'd love to play something like this in Halo.

How could I have known, the parasite was full!

Hell yea!!!

the cruiser should be big :P

i dont know if its already said but the bomb should be taken to the enemy cruiser, via transport, either automatic dropship you take it to, and that dropship brings it to the ship, unless its destroyed...and if the dropship makes it to the ships docking bay, the bomb will be dropped there, in there it must be carried to the reactors at the back of the ship (they who spawn in the ship must protect...so shotgun is good, and they who attack must make their way with air transports into it)

Falcons should be able to carry 2 passengers like in campaign (new alexandria mission) and they should load the troops to the enemy ship. Or theres a few alien cannons that will shoot you to the docking bay.

Ofcourse this would be more like 20 vs 20 cuz theres so much going on.

The ship would have some gauss cannons to be used aswell, but those can be destroyed and they spawn back in 30 secs.

This would be best as invasion, elites vs spartans and variations with spartans vs spartans and elites vs elites.
But lets go with basic first :D

IF this idea has been said already IGNORE MY POST! :D

Dont ignore this: Epic idea, IM GAME!

When nothing goes right, go left.

Didn't you already do this for halo 3? I remeber seeing this and also noticed that it says you can use the points to get a "battle riffle or carbine" you might want to change that.

--{The Danger Zone}--

First of all, I LOVE this idea of a 20v20 game that sounds like a massive online multiplayer invasion campaign or something, that'd be epic!

I also like the ideas of trying to incorporate as much of the halo experience into one (snipers, CQB, vehicles, dropships, bombs, slayer, objective, etc)

However...

I feel there are foreseeable problems. With that many people on that big of a scale, these games will be a lot more likely to become off-balanced or disproportional with one team far better than the other. Add mid-game quitters and the performance-earned weapon/vehicle drops to the mix to further the disadvantege, plus long gameplay time and you can easily be left with games that aren't really enjoyable (or offer no challenge, etc).

If bungie considered a project of this magnitude (WHICH THEY SHOULD!) it's gonna take a lot to work out the kinks and eventually release it to the market.

but mad props on the idea, you're definitely on to something great here

YES. This idea OWNS. Get rid of buying weapons, but other than that, Bungie, please make this gametype. Then Reach might actually compete with Halo 3.

yes i ecsept ure mode

  • 09.27.2010 9:32 PM PDT

Hey, if I get shot, be sure to give me lots of drugs.

I could totally see this coming across in reach, and becoming an amazing part of the multi player experience. Im sure the XBOX has enough power, its just a question of the networking behind it.

  • 09.27.2010 11:06 PM PDT

I don't really think the points system would be very good, but everything else sounds great, I've always had a hankerin' for some full on halo war! I always wanted to play as one of the marines when I played Halo Wars. Maby have a commander call in vehicle and weapon drops for their team.

I like the idea. I just wonder how many randomes would quit early. It sounds like the game would be pretty long, which I like.

"I would have been your daddy, but a dog beat me over the fence " - Sgt. Johnson

So... You work hard and get lots of points and buy an expensive weapon, you go down, make a little mistake and get killed by the opponent. All of your hard work has gone to waste, and then the enemy gets the weapon YOU earned? Or do you keep it?

i like the idea of a time limit
