It's a great idea.

I would change, as you anticipated, the part where we go and buy weapons with our points. Inside the Cruiser, there are numerous weapon stashes locked in chain-linked fences that become available every time you get a certain number of kills.

Each weapon stash, depending on how easy it is to unlock, would hold specific weapons (the stash that requires 100 points would hold ARs, Maulers, SMGs, and Frag Grenades. The last one that requires 100,000 points would hold a Spartan Laser, a few Swords, and a Missile Pod) These are just examples.

Ex. You get 10 kills (as you said) and imagine those 10 kills scored you 100 points. In order to open the first chain-linked fence to get to the first weapon stash, you need 150 points. Once you have 150 points, you can walk up to any of the stashes that require 150 points or less to unlock, and unlock it.

You bring up some good ideas.

That sound's too much like cod, I prefer the original idea.

STOP ASSAULT 2012

Who is Assault? Assault is a mod in the Bungie.net brony group. And what started out with good intentions, viciously spiraled down into a power hungry tyrant locking thread after thread after thread to quell all opposition to his tyrannical rule. Did I mention he is a tyrant?

To donate to the STOP ASSAULT 2012 movement, message me with your credit card info, full name, social security, full adress, and mothers maiden name.

Possibly...

  • 02.18.2011 8:35 PM PDT

the game mode they should do before anything else is get rid of the afk boosters who ruin matcmaking put a simple patch that if the person doesnt play they get auto booted and a credit reset

  • 02.19.2011 3:26 AM PDT

sounds great but difficult to make, i'm sure bungie will be able to do it though

  • 02.19.2011 3:53 AM PDT

THAT sounds like fun!!!
but i would like a version of it where instead of fighting players you fight the covenant A.I. and it should be called Giant Firefight
I like the shop idea as well
It also be cool if there was a version of it where you can your own CUSTOMIZABLE ODST!!! :)

  • 02.19.2011 3:42 PM PDT

sounds awsome. but the server would be a challenge

Sounds like an Idea for Halo 4. There are multiple problems with this idea however. I may be wrong, but the 360 doesn't have the ability to put 20v20, only PS3 (ex. MAG, 150 players at once!!!).

The animations of HEV's flying down all over the place is simply to much to handle, and there's no way you can make that experience happen like in ODST. Imagine 400 little ODST pods littering the battle field, that's just not worth the effort. BUT, Battle field had something simular, in that they allowed players to enter the battlefield via parachute. The HEV pods would be cool though , and if Bungie followed suit with their fictional side of Halo and you'd be able to pull out either a sniper or a rocket launcher from your pod? You can spawn in your pod, and select what type of ordinace you want to bring down with you. You could go down with Snipe and a pistol or a Rocket launcher and a AR. However, some of these load-outs have to be unlocked. The first load-out is DMR and pistol, After 50 points another load-out and so on and so forth. But this is where my idea dies with the whole HEV thing.

Here's my version of how this should pan out. The only way this could happen is through the Invasion method where you can select certain areas to spawn, and to make it better, use the Bro system to spawn on players or in vehicles. In order to spawn closer to the enemy, you need to capture territories, up to 10 or more, and once you do, this allows players to choose differen't spawn points, and maybe allows team vehicles to spawn in the area. A map the size of Forge world or something would do. The terrain needs to have all kinds of variables like close-quarters scenarios in the beginning where the base would be, which involves epic fire fights if a team were to be trying to set the bomb. The base should big, or big enough to spawn twenty players at once. A landing pad on the roof allows players to hop in a Falcon or 2 banshees. These guys would be able to fly over the enclosed area surrounding the base and bring them straight into the fray, or straight to a territory. Small paths can cut around say the rocks or ridge surrounding the base which lead to Warthogs, scopions and mongosses, yet, also allows alternate routes, and little paths that allows Snipers to get into position. My idea is like Paradice, only on a much larger scale. There can be tunnel systems, caves, other small structers between the bases. These would serve as territories that the players can capture. Beyond the close quarters is the open space where vehicle battles and sniping is vital, and all the while Falcons and Banshees battle it out above or pick off unfortunate players. New load-outs are unlocked after every 50 points as before, and the main theme of getting 200 for the bomb still exsists.
The rest is up to Bungie to make this better.

I would like to see something like this happen, matches would feel epic and more importantly rewarding. Any team that can say they've won one of these games means that they've gone through war. I hope Bungie looks at this thread and are right now putting their heads together to make it happen, and if not, then it's a pure shame. I'm calling them out on this one.

Threads don't die, they just go missing in action.

Play Battlefield 2142

  • 02.20.2011 1:25 AM PDT

Red Team shooting at Griff...
Sarge: Donut your going out of turn!
Donut: What i thought that was my turn?
Sarge: No no no we go in a line, it goes you then me, then Simmons then back down to me then you, then me then me, then Simmons then me Simmons, me Simmons you Simmons me me me Simmons you, me..... then me again... IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!

Dude you have my full support for this.. hell with this many votes and people behind you I think Bungie should seriously consider this whole idea.

Ok, first of all I would like to say that this is a new game mode, not the entire multiplayer experience. It gets it's own special spot on the main menu, along with forge and theater. This game mode would have to have large teams, probably like 20 vs 20, and it would only be possible with dedicated servers, due to lag.

So this is how the game begins. I can't find the thread for it but somebody came up with the idea of spawning in a UNSC cruiser(or a Covenant one) and entering the battlefield with a HEV. I like this idea. So the game starts off with both teams in a UNSC cruiser. You have to find a HEV pod and go down to "The Perfect Map"

"The Perfect Map" is a map, imo, that utilizes everything. That means every weapon, and vehicle. That means that the map must have large open areas for snipers, vehicles ect... but, it must also have tight areas where the shotgun would be the best weapon, and everything in between. It would be a hard map to make but I believe Bungie would be able to pull it off.

When you enter the map you will start off with normal team slayer. The score will be 200. Once you're team scores 200 kills, you will be given a bomb, and you must finish up the game with a game of assault. However you will ONLY be given the bomb if you reach 200 kills. If blue team has 200, but red team only has 150, then the red team won't be given a bomb. Once red team also get 200, the get their own bomb.

Now there has to be a few twists. A big one I think would be adding Campaign scoring. so every time you kill somebody you get points, and you get more points when you get medals. Now obviously these points can be used for bragging rights, but maybe they can do more. Ok lets say you were doing really good, you just got a killing frenzy, but you died. You have a lot of points, because you got 10 kills, and not to mention the medals. So you spawn in the cruiser, but instead of going straight down, you go to a weapons shop. With those points you can buy a secondary weapon. Now I bet the thing I just said probably made 50% of the Halo Reach forum's population get mad, but just bare with me. These weapons would be expensive, so even though you got 10 kills, maybe you only have enough points for a Battle Rifle, or Carbine. In order for you to get a sniper, you would have to have way more points. However to keep it fair you can only buy 1 weapon at a time, so you can't go down with a sniper and rockets. Don't worry though, there will still be weapons on the map.

Now if you have been reading this far and aren't mad at me, you might like what's next. Ever been in the position where you need a vehicle, except you can't find one. Well I think we should be able to call in vehicle drops, from a pelican. You would obviously call in the drops using your points. So lets say I called in a pelican to drop me a mongoose. I would have to hold my position, for 30 seconds, until the pelican comes. If I die, the pelican will come anyway, and drop the vehicle, anybody would be able to take it.

So that is the basic of the mode I am thinking of. Obviously there are problems with this idea, like communicating with a team of 20 but people have said a squad system might work. So yeah, this is my idea, and tell me what you think.

PLEASE READ
Oh and if you want to see everyone's idea's, go to page 8 and go to AbruptArc's post. Also I highly recommend you guys look at Half Demon ANBU's post on page 10. I would post them, but I don't have enough room. Ok, I have gotten a lot of post saying I've copied this idea from Section 8, and I would like to say I didn't. I had no idea what Section 8 was when I made this thread. I just found out about it when someone mentioned it a couple of pages on, and I then googled it. I watched some gameplay videos and all I found similar was dropping from orbit(in Section 8, it's more like the sky). And so I am sorry if this idea isn't "New" enough for you guys. Next time I make a thread about a new idea, I'll make sure no other game has ever done it before.
That amount of lag.... God have mercy on our souls.....

  • 02.20.2011 4:52 AM PDT

First of all AWSOME idea,But you would need 20 people every game or it might last FOREVER!!!This sounds similar to BTB and whenever i play we always have some noob who ges 3 kills the whole game.Just kind of wondering how that might work out. Thanks

buyimg weapons just sounds too much like call of duty which is something the fans dont want. people went crazy when they first heard about the loadouts option in reach because it sounded like call of duty classes. altogether this mode sounds fun but it is never going to happen. but i would support you to the end. it doesnt hurt to dream

  • 02.20.2011 7:41 PM PDT

Bungie pinned this :) ...

  • 02.20.2011 7:49 PM PDT

I doubt bungie will do this...........

Seems like a good idea it has slayer and objective game types involved.
