Not Watermelon, WienerSchnitzel, or Wankerman.
It's Wienermelon.

I don't think this is that amazing of an idea. I can just imagine trying to plant the bomb, and there are twenty marines with shotguns waiting for you. I'd probably play it if it came out, but this is like big team on Cod, so it's not really that amazing.

Long live Halo

I also like the weapon stash idea.. How long would be a reasonable time for the drop be? could their be transporters for quick access to the map, but only on your teams side. I think making a drop every time you die could get old.

Long live Halo

I'm sure bungie could tweak it up a bit, they would need a lot more base to build this on then what we have here.

A MAN CHOOSES, A SLAVE OBEYS.

It is far too ambitious and not very practical. This isn't a game mode this is an entire game.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 rush mode, thats something id love to see in halo

I hate my gamertag AND my B.net name.

200 points!? Even an Invasion Slayer game takes 15 minutes to get 100 points!

u have a nice attitude

Yayap

I personally like this idea; it's similar to titan mode in Battlefield 2142. The whole Halo aesthetic would fit great I think.

i've thought about this before, and it sounds good, but by dividing the field like this you'll have unbalanced combat areas, and a mad scramble for the vehicles. it would keep the overall match balanced, but would eliminate most strategy, teamplay, and lone-wolfing. but just let me say, i do LOVE a big team battle (i had to go back and caps the "LOVE"), and i would like something like that, with a carrier-drop and everything, but it would work best if you were fighting the computer. but i gotta admit, you have thought this out pretty well

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

I do quite like the idea, however I'm unsure if it will blend well with halo style game play. Halo bases around simplistic game play in my view, such as everyone is on a level start weapon wise as preset classes are made (unlike COD where you make the class and kill streaks which are affected by rank). However this game idea doesn't really do that anyway, and may be a good change for Halo players if they want to change the game play for a while on Reach from the basic DMR and magnum class etc.

It would make a nice change to have a point system for in game use (by that I mean in the game you play not in the main menu for class customization). I play CSS on the computer and love the idea of buying weapons from money, affected by kills you got and everything, great idea, and the fact you can't get more than one weapon from 'armory' would be a great way to balance, not perfect in some ways, but life isn't perfect. In CSS you start with the lowest grade pistol and buy whichever weaponry to last you the round. A good idea and allows you to have an idea of saving money and spending, and having limitations and personalizations to your gaming style.

However, I have to say I'm a bit unsure if the community would completely take to this, but would love to hear of something like this. Quite like Invasion's concept, but could be a good experiment on Reach, may change game play on most games if done right, just like anything could. I started reading the original post on this thread and wasn't convinced but after some thought kind of liked it. Would like to see this idea made in a whole entirety, I hope Bungie wouldn't make people pay for the access to such a game mode.

:)

You would have over two times the players to kill, so it would take no time at all, if the map is balanced.

Spartans never die... They're just respawning.

I was thinking Section 8. Lol. This would be sick as hell in any Halo series though.

OMG y r u not workin 4 bungie

  • 03.26.2011 5:36 PM PDT

I think it sounds brilliant -this is something I personally would love playing - but I can't see bungie putting in all this effort for one playlist. I mean, this is a big map we're talking about; for the "perfect map" to have sniper spots, vehicle areas and tight areas, not to mention various landmarks and hiding spots, it would have to be massive. Even then there's still the UNSC dropship to create. At best I can only see it being made in Forge World. So, sorry - and GREAT idea - but I think its a bit ambitious.

  • 03.27.2011 3:57 AM PDT

Really good idea, i especially enjoy the pelican vehicle idea.
Pilot - Chief hold, it off for just a bit longer; I'm almost there.
Master Chief - Tell that to the Covenant.
Pilot - Is that all you know how to say?

Ok, first of all I would like to say that this is a new game mode, not the entire multiplayer experience. It gets it's own special spot on the main menu, along with forge and theater. This game mode would have to have large teams, probably like 20 vs 20, and it would only be possible with dedicated servers, due to lag.

So this is how the game begins. I can't find the thread for it but somebody came up with the idea of spawning in a UNSC cruiser(or a Covenant one) and entering the battlefield with a HEV. I like this idea. So the game starts off with both teams in a UNSC cruiser. You have to find a HEV pod and go down to "The Perfect Map"

"The Perfect Map" is a map, imo, that utilizes everything. That means every weapon, and vehicle. That means that the map must have large open areas for snipers, vehicles ect... but, it must also have tight areas where the shotgun would be the best weapon, and everything in between. It would be a hard map to make but I believe Bungie would be able to pull it off.

When you enter the map you will start off with normal team slayer. The score will be 200. Once you're team scores 200 kills, you will be given a bomb, and you must finish up the game with a game of assault. However you will ONLY be given the bomb if you reach 200 kills. If blue team has 200, but red team only has 150, then the red team won't be given a bomb. Once red team also get 200, the get their own bomb.

Now there has to be a few twists. A big one I think would be adding Campaign scoring. so every time you kill somebody you get points, and you get more points when you get medals. Now obviously these points can be used for bragging rights, but maybe they can do more. Ok lets say you were doing really good, you just got a killing frenzy, but you died. You have a lot of points, because you got 10 kills, and not to mention the medals. So you spawn in the cruiser, but instead of going straight down, you go to a weapons shop. With those points you can buy a secondary weapon. Now I bet the thing I just said probably made 50% of the Halo Reach forum's population get mad, but just bare with me. These weapons would be expensive, so even though you got 10 kills, maybe you only have enough points for a Battle Rifle, or Carbine. In order for you to get a sniper, you would have to have way more points. However to keep it fair you can only buy 1 weapon at a time, so you can't go down with a sniper and rockets. Don't worry though, there will still be weapons on the map.

Now if you have been reading this far and aren't mad at me, you might like what's next. Ever been in the position where you need a vehicle, except you can't find one. Well I think we should be able to call in vehicle drops, from a pelican. You would obviously call in the drops using your points. So lets say I called in a pelican to drop me a mongoose. I would have to hold my position, for 30 seconds, until the pelican comes. If I die, the pelican will come anyway, and drop the vehicle, anybody would be able to take it.

So that is the basic of the mode I am thinking of. Obviously there are problems with this idea, like communicating with a team of 20 but people have said a squad system might work. So yeah, this is my idea, and tell me what you think.

PLEASE READ
Oh and if you want to see everyone's idea's, go to page 8 and go to AbruptArc's post. Also I highly recommend you guys look at Half Demon ANBU's post on page 10. I would post them, but I don't have enough room. Ok, I have gotten a lot of post saying I've copied this idea from Section 8, and I would like to say I didn't. I had no idea what Section 8 was when I made this thread. I just found out about it when someone mentioned it a couple of pages on, and I then googled it. I watched some gameplay videos and all I found similar was dropping from orbit(in Section 8, it's more like the sky). And so I am sorry if this idea isn't "New" enough for you guys. Next time I make a thread about a new idea, I'll make sure no other game has ever done it before.

i wouled play anytime i can. what would u call it

Does teamwork really exist?.. No, no it doesn't.

Three problems...

1. You guys have been discussing this for TWO years... It ain't happening.

2. This (your idea) is like a whole new game, and there is NO way any of your ideas are going to come true unless you make it yourselves...(good luck with that)

3. The guy who originally posted this is not even here anymore. I guess he left? Maybe you people should leave this thread too. :)

Still, its just because we are on a forum for a game that came out. if we can move this topic to a 343i provided forum, we might get it.
