I can't believe that people are still talking about this...
But anyways, some pages ago, someone mentioned armor actually doing something, so I thought up a list of what it could do. Armor is based on the HELMET only, everything else means nothing (Elites don't apply to this rule).
Stamina=AA recharge time
EVA/Air Assault/Ranger Elite- Gets rid of fall damage.
Operator/Elite Officer- Highlights objects (like the night vision in campaign).
EOD/Grenadier- Can hold four of each type of grenade.
ODST- No fall damage, faster, but weaker shields.
HAZOP- Stronger sheilds, but reduced visibility.
Pilot- Vehicles can take more damage.
GUNGIR- reduces bloom, slightly.
Scout/ Elite Spec Ops- Invisible on motion sensors.
Recon- All weapons can zoom in.
Mark V- Stronger shields and CE HUD.
Mark VI- Stronger shields and 3 HUD.
Commando- Increased motion sensor range.
CQC- has melee bleed through.
CQB- Reduces melee damage done to user.
JFO- can speed up drop offs (weapon crates, vehicles, etc.).
Military Police- Can duel wield weapons.
Mark V B- More stamina and Reach HUD (Considering that this would be a new game).
Security- Stronger shields when by allies.
Rouge (If it's brought back)- Stronger shields when away from allies.
Hayabusa (If it's brought back)- More speed and higher jumps.
Elite Minor- More stamina.
Elite Ultra- higher jumps and faster.
Elite General- Melee has bleed through.
Field Marshall- Extra Ammo.
I personally like sets, like on my post.
Gungir set would reduce bloom, but has decreased FOV due to smaller visor
MP+security shoulders would allow dual wield of all one-handed weapons, but they would have max bloom applied when DW. Pistol, PP, PRi. Sword would be included, but it would only be a cosmetic thing.
CQC, would have decreased melee damage taken, but only when shields are down.
CQB would allow increased melee force, not damage, physical force.
Operator, highlight objects.
Scout, highlighted zoom on scoped weapons
Recon, all weapons have "scopes"
ODST, no fall damage, weaker shields
EOD, increased explosive resistance. ignored by stickies and super combines as well as direct hits
Grenadier, more grenades carried. If sapper chest, more grenade launcher rounds, normal frag/plasma. If grenadier, vice versa
JFO, i guess faster drop-offs
hazop, stronger armor to projectiles, non-explosives. Decreased fov
Pilot, faster vehicle speed if driving
EVA, increased fov, smaller zooms
EVA[c], increased fov, blurry sections of screen, smaller zooms
idl about others. My two pennies.
Yah the idea for armor affecting gameplay would be pretty cool, but only in certain game modes.
