You don't stand a chance against m-AAAAHHHHHH!!!!
This is one of the greatest ideas in the history of Halo.
I love it so much I'm going to say this to Microsoft:
"Dear Microsoft:
Screw Project Natal, Make Virtual Reality for this s***-crazy gametype on Bungie.net.
Yeah, you know who Bungie is, they're the ones your 343 Industries are taking over from.
So, yeah, stop messing around trying to work out all the bugs with Natal, and maybe implement a less powerful camera along with a VR helmet, some 'COM' equipment (ie microphone and XBL speakers) and some VR gloves.
Sincerely,
DARKRISER 1080"
Okay, not really, but I can just imagine Microsoft scratching their heads, wondering who the hell I think I am. XD
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention MY idea...
How about implementing lesser races, like Grunts and Jackals?
If a player is a General or does really well in the game, then they could gain command of a few AI squads of Marines (UNSC) or Grunts (Covenant).
Seeing as how Reach has squad mechanics (as the guy above me said) I think this would be a great idea, but only if control was given to a high-ranking player.
Like somebody in the single-digit posts said, perhaps this gametype should have its own ranking system? I think that would work out a lot better than having players use their original Matchmaking ranks, since Generals who didn't earn it (I see all these 'I sell 50s!' everywhere...) would have to play all over again to earn their status, just like everybody else.
Whatever. I'm just excited about the Halo: Reach MP beta. I'd imagine that Bungie is scrambling to implement at least SOME of these ideas into the code that is their final Halo game.*
*Note: for those of you who didn't know, Frank O'Conner, the original story writer of Halo: CE/2, left Bungie a while ago and started an inside company called 343 Industries within Microsoft. They will be in charge of all things Halo once Bungie's contract with Microsoft ends. (They bought out of Microsoft a little while after M$ bought them.)
