One Shot One Kill, No Luck Just Skill.

I think that when the "drop pods" are coming down u can shoot them to cause damage but maybe thats too section 8.... ?

Also i think when u order a wepon or a vehicle and the pelican comes in i think you should be able to shoot down the pelican, basiccly u can destroy the vehicl or weapon.

Also instead of like 20 peliccans coming in for every person i think there should be an order system like say one person wants a shotgun another wants a rocket other wants rifle and so on the pelican should come at one time so theres only one pelican delivering if 15 people order stuff.

He cocked his head as the symbols and numbers scrolled across the NAV console. The representations of Slipspace vectors and velocity curves twisted across the screen-tantalizingly familiar. He'd seen them somewhere before-but he could not make the connection.

This reminds me a bit of Battlefield 2142's mode with the two huge ships in the sky.

I like this. I like this a lot. And it made me think, why not just one map like this? And so I came up with an idea..

Imagine, the start of The Ark, where you are flying in on a pelican. Good. Imagine the landscape, and the area. Now, my map is based some what off of this, it's a desert, and one team starts off by flying in on a pelican, while the others will be inside of a large, complex base with many corridors and levels, as well as open areas, however not so big that a sniper would be too effective. Inside of this base, there will be a flag, that the team flying in on the pelican need to capture. It's located at the very top of the base, which will take some time to get to. Now, as you know, a pelican can't fit 20 people in, so a few people will start in Warthogs, however they will need to be abandoned once they reach the base. The pelican and the warthogs will reach the base at similar times to each other. But before they head off to raid the base, they'll have a few weapons and equipment to stock up with, however, you wont start with too many power weapons, only around five shotguns which respawn every 3 minutes, as well as a single rocket launcher with only two rounds in, which doesn't respawn. More weapons will be located around the base. You also will have a bubble shield and two grav lifts. This is the area in which you respawn when you die, originally. As you make progress in the base, you'll respawn further into the base.

Both teams have a set amount of lives, the attackers will have 200, while the defenders will have 150, to account for the fact that they will have the advantage of more weapons. Now, I previously mentioned that you will have a rocket launcher with 2 rockets. Now, there are two ways this can be used, the normal way which we all know is to simply kill the enemy team with, however in this map it has another use, it can blast through walls and ceilings. Now, this can prove an advantage and disadvantage for both teams. It's area of effect is quite large, and the walls aren't all that great, so some times you wont just blast through a wall, you may also blow up the floor, and you'll be thrown down the the lower level, apart from the first level, where the floor cannot be destroyed(unless you guys like the idea of a bottomless pit).

Now as I said previously, the flag is at the top of the building. Also at the top of the building are two turrets, as well as an elevator leading to the roof. It also houses two missile pods. Once the attackers have the flag, they will go up into this elevator and there will be the pelican that they later came in on waiting. Now, if you haven't already eliminated all of the defenders to a point where they are unable to respawn, they have the opportunity to take the missile pods(the attackers will not be aloud to pick them up). With this, they can proceed up the elevator and try to destroy the pelican before it leaves with the flag carrier. If they manage to destroy it, the game will become a tie instead of a loss for the defenders (since they destroyed the flag inside of the pelican).

As I said quite earlier on, both teams also have a set amount of lives, so for the defenders it's also like a game of team slayer. Once one team has won over the over, they will switch sides. If a victor is not present after the two rounds, there will be a bonus round without a flag to round the game off.

Constructive criticism is welcome, flaming, trolling and "WTF NIEC THRED STEALIN -blam!-!" isn't, as I'm not thread stealing, simply adding to it based on the OP's idea of large 20v20 battles.

I like the squad idea and the squad leader could place waypoints to individual squad members like pointing to a sniper that only that player can see

I like this entire idea, I really really do. Although I do think that you should spawn on the ground and theres your spawn with the shop in it, not in the cruiser, or just to spawn down in drop pods into your teams "Safe Zone". But I would be perfectly fine with 12 on 12 instead of 20 on 20. Ever played Battlefield: Bad Company? That game has HUGE maps and 12 on 12 is perfect for it.

I think it's a brilliant idea but a little too complex. The idea of drop pods is good but maybe just the first time and when you die you respawn on the ground. I say this because the whole waiting untill the pod lands would rapidly become frustrating and tideous driving many people away from the game. Also the weapon shop, earning guns isnt Halo's style that stuff is reserved for COD

Like to play SWAT is my favorite! Usually on @ 7:00 PM -ish. (Western time) Currently I'm a 37 in SWAT. Metroids are awesome!
Oh... If you want to play SWAT send msg stating u want to play SWAT first then send the fr or msg. :)

Exacitically! --- If it kept dropping pods then after awhile the area would be covered in them, and if there was 1 good team and one bad team. Well...... The area may be filled with quiet a few drop pods...

well what about at the end of the round every person spawns in the weapon shop (without weapons of course) and buys a weapon and it will say I.E. press and hold RB to buy pistol ammo for 100 points sure bungie would have to figure out prices and how much ammo is in a ammmo pack heres another example useing a sword: hold RB to buy a energy sword. you gwt the idea right? another thing is calling in reinforcements from the pelican (marines are reinforcements) same rules as vehicle call ins but heres the twist the enemy can capture the ones they havent allready killed

This will NEVER happen. It a nice idea but is just not something Bungie will ever do. If this is the type of game you are looking for I would suggest buying Battlefield: Bad Company 2 when it comes out. That game is pretty much this every time, with some minor differences.

It just will not ever happen...pointless poll/thread really

start a pettion i say. but first i think that you should always spawn at the ship until your team contols an area so your team can spawn there like mlg i also think there should be multiple ways to the ground a direct elevator so your underneath.it also has specialised vehicle elevators 3 warthogs one of each kind chain gun, guass gun and transport, also 3 mongooses in the infantry elevators of which there are 2 and 2 in each and a scorpion with the hotseat option still . a pelican that you can ride in to the surface while it resupllies your team mates or use its mounted turret to fire on your foes but of course you would be the biggest target and lastly the hev pods so you can get to just about everywhere on the map and of course get splatter kills. Duh. and if this is made which all of are hoping for i bet, it will have to be on a second disc. but most importantly we need to come up with a name

Note this is a variation on the original idea

umm something that could also restrict Bungie from making this is that 1 map? that would get boring real quick.. they would have to spend countless hours making new open maps to keep players entertained and surprised.. I'd say wait till it comes out and then figure out how it would play in to the game.
