Those who think there all that are all truly dead on the inside

WOW mes likey ideaz. What i thought is how a squad system could work is like so: When you spawn you need to get to a HEV (drop pod i suppose?) and whoevers in the HEV becomse your squad for the game or round. Now i have no idea what the HEV is, if its the ODST drop pod my ideas a bust. But if its like the life pods that you escape off the Piller of Autumn like in Halo Ce than my idea could work. Plus, one person in the life pod would need to pilot the pod of the cruiser, dodge incomeing fire and what not. If you get hit from incoming fire, the pilot would need to fight to sustain control to have a "ok" crash landing, and upon crash landing every1 loses their shields but no1 dies. You folo? I mean iam picturing sitting in a life pod having a feeling of suspens as you hope your pilot dosent crash while looking out the windows at the vast space and enemy oncoming fire. Plus, since there would be severel life pods with severel diff squads, obvislouy your gonna land a certain distance of from each other, so like you can either go in the fight with just your squad or you can go search for other members of your team and join up to make one big squad? I no its probably all confusing but if any1 gets what iam saying plz reply lol.

There should be a proximity voice to where you press up on the d pad to talk to everyone and only talk to people regurly who are 50 meters away from them like enemies.

You could also have natives to protect,kill or even make an alliance to help you.

So like a team spawn and to where the pilot is a CPU.

This is a really well thought out idea. I love it, and as much as i'd like to play it, i dont see it being very realistic. but damn, i wish this was in the game

In section 8 all you do is spawn and drop thats the only thing related to your idea. I was thinking that when you spawn you dont spawn automaticaly in the pod you can walk around the ship's pod bay and you can walk into the armory where you can buy weapons from your score and at the beggining of the match if certain players aren't in their pods by let's say 2 minutes or 1 minute 30 they get removed and could be replaced by an A.I and then the A.I could be replaced by a real person in the match and if it's in the middle of the match they get 1 minute or 45 seconds and could be replaced by an A.I while the game continues without waiting and could be replaced by someone in the middle of the game(just trying to make it clear to some people) something along the lines of that.

There are these long ranged turret's you can get into in the ships pod bay near the armory shoot (bullets not like an ac 130 just trying to make the game a little bit more interesting to the people who can't get kills with their br so it's more fair for everyone and also adding a twist to the gameplay) in the the middle of the map not near the spawns and speccific parts of the map to make it unfair but still their are large parts of the map where the screen goes glitchy and can't shoot. Remember the turret would not be very accurate making it not overpowered and extremely useful. Also you have 1 minute to get into a pod or a turret or you get booted, the turrets could be neutralized by someone calling in a longsword(halo technical word for airstrike) on the turret after geting 5,6,7 kills i dunno destroying the turret for 2 mintues or so.

I know alot of you will think the airstrike would be too much like codmw2 and the turret would be like the artillery for battlefield bad company but keep in mind i am not bungie this is only an idea to someones elses idea, im just giving ideas as should everybody.

A space battle with proper spacecraft (not banshees or hornets, more like Seraph fighters and stuff) where you have to destroy the enemy ship. You can either attack from outside (which would be harder as there are many defense turrets and all the ship is shielded or heavily armoured) or you could go inside to take out vital systems like power cores and the like. The batt;e is over when a ship has lost all health points or all it's vital systems have been disbled. Quite like Star Wars Battlefront which was a great game imo.

i think it should be more like Conquest mode from Battlefield because you should capture bases or flags and get points too and also get points for assist kills driving your friend in vehicles and so on so that the less skilled players could get better weapons and have a better game

i would love something like this in reach, this is great idea, there's so many aspects that could push the boundaries of the halo universe along with gaming altogether. mixing the gametypes is risky but the way its been put makes it sound like one of the best parts about it.
u could hold tournaments and stuff, alpha squad beats beta squad 200/1 - 159/0 (200 kills/1 bomb detonation) man this is a good idea, halfway there if not almost there and just needs finishing off. this has a hell of a lot of potential i think.
a tie in from halo 3 MM would just top it off for bungie's popularity with this. intergrate whatever armour u unlocked in MM and then have some new armour exclusive to reach. meaning i could bring in my set of recon <<<< lol

like the guy above me u could have even more objectives in it, but it might drag out then, thats debatable. also different versions, like a mix of different objectives. uv got slayer and assault, say u could have CTF oddball, get ten flag captures then u get an oddball, then u have to keep the oddball for 5 minutes while the other team tries to get ur flag if they still need the captures, and tries to kill the ball carrier

thats my two cents for this =]

This sort of gametype has been in my thoughts since Halo CE, and considering the possible scale of Reach (if the VGA trailer is to be trusted), is even probable in some form.

if the longsword fighter is in it it shuold have a nuke but ther can only be one in play at a time and you need to be very carful when you use it as you can very easily kill your teamates since its a gound only wepon but it can be shot out of the sky and when one team gets to 200 or whaterver the score is the over team gets it so for the covenant its a huge plasma bomb but its harder to destroy but it is slower in descent and has a larger AOE (area of affect) and vice versa for the shiva warhead

Great idea,keep this thread going and Bungie may consider it. They're actually probably looking into it since it is such a wildly popular idea. It would make Reach MUCH more appealing. In fact we might take some of COD's guys away (no offense if you like the games).

My idea to add is being able to use points to call in A.I. controlled charactors like with a little bit of points a grunt with some more a marine with a little more a brute with a little more spartan, or elite, and with a lot lot lot more a scarab. Also if you buy an A.I. you have to buy their weapon but not for the scarab for the scarab you buy brutes for it that come with weapons.Every ten brutes you buy for the scarab you get a brute chief. Tell me what you think

good Idea scarab I dont know but I like the AI idea but spartans and elites? I dont know It might work but if they can make it work why not and for the marines to work they might have to be a little bit stronger

i also thought of this: Super weapons. If your on the covenant team you can buy a scarab (like a halo 2 one) and up grade it to a halo 3 one then you can upgrade the turrets and brutes that are guarding it and for the UNSC, Bungie should bring out some of the leader vehicles from halo wars like 10 grizzlies, hawks and a few vultre's to balance outthe teams. and just a little add on from my original post, if you go with my pelican idea you should be able to save up personal points like every time you win and how ever many points you have remaining, how many people you killed ect. should be added to your personal points and you can buy and custimize your own vehicles that only you can use that includes pelicans and phantoms, and ever time your in a game it would ask if you want to spawn your vehicle and if you say yes then it will only spawn once per round in your frigate.

I would add a feature called Lone Wolf. You join the game on neither team, but you are slightly stronger and slightly faster. You can buy stuff from either teams stores, and if you are good they can pay you in points to work for them. The way they win the game is by helping a team blow up a ship. They are also worth slightly less points then normal players (Unless they have attacked your team, that builds up point value on them.) but start with power weapons, and can also have slight cloaking ability that lasts 10 seconds and takes a while to recharge, or a slight overshield which makes their shields stronger for 10 seconds and takes the same amount of time to recharge. They even have a custom Light Vehicle. Stuff you can customize are the colours, the weapon, and the Emblem. (I think it would be cool if you could have a warthog without a turret on the back. Then you construct the armor: More armor=Slower but more durable, Less Armor=Faster but less durable. Then you can put a turret: At low class badge you can have a standard turret at higher levels you unlock more back parts like: Transport, Gauss, Flame, Plasma, Beam(Like sentinal beams but unlimited), Missle, Fuel Rod Weapon (Like the Hunters), And finally if you reach General Rank you can have a APC Upgrade which extends the Warthog back and adds extra wheels and a door. The door can be opened by the driver if when in the driver seat hits the right trigger. There could be four seats and a top mounted turret(Machine gun, but if you beat bungie you can get a Gauss.). You can upgrade parts like the engine, brakes, wheels, windscreen, and horn by getting higher ranks. They slightly increase speed, braking, steering, aero dynamics, and loudness of the horn. The way you arrive is cinematic where you drive across the desert, cliff, or whatever outer features there are. You are racing the other Lone Wolves and you see the drop pods you drive off the road, sand, rocks you are on and drive onto the battlefield to have a little fun(Upgrading your vehicle affects where you are when you are racing the other Lone Wolves).

i think regarding the bomb for it to start in the ship and can be flown across, the problem with that would be that the enemy point defence turrets would be able to kill you but if you were destroyed it would fall to earth (or werever you are) so the ground forces could secure the area then have to call a pickup ship to have another go or call a tansport warthog or a shade(BRING THEM BACK BUNGIE!) to take to the oppenents space/gravity lift to infitate the ship from the ground you could also use the bomb falling to your advantage so you rush them in the ship then lay a surpise trap to lure them in and to also get rid of it if you manage to capture the enemy bomb you have to detonate it by transmiting the data to the command ship after that you can go anywhere until the get the detonation codes to safely detonate it but the code only change with each new bomb produced so if they capture they bomb again but you have the codes you can still use those codes on that bomb

I don't think it's possible to have 20 vs 20 players on the Xbox 360. I think that is only possible on the PC.

I like the idea though.
