Become the hunter.

I think that is an excellent idea.

I personally would love to see a battlefield style large scale halo game mode. The 360s answer to MAG.

This is kinda like my HALO: Harvest game idea.

I like it.

Romans 10:9

BUNGIE should definatley put this as a gameplay mode they added firefight to ODST why not this to reach it could be called Gian Team Slayer (GTS)

  • 01.16.2010 3:14 AM PDT

Its both not a good idea and not an idea that could work out.

LAG

I don't feel like explaining it AGAIN, over and over...

  • 01.16.2010 3:16 AM PDT

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

MAG is a big disappointment for me, the graphics and gameplay are horrific. I could care less about the massive amount of players the game itself sucks.

  • 01.16.2010 3:16 AM PDT

It's not actually a massive amount of players in MAG, it's just 16 people arenas called Squads, that each have a separate host, they all represent a different part of the map and they all sum up for the overall score. It's not ACTUALLY 128vs128

  • 01.16.2010 3:20 AM PDT

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

I'm up for anything on such a grand scale. Great idea!

Play it, love it, rate it.

It's a very interesting idea. Maybe you could call it "Warfare" or something on that line.

  • 01.16.2010 12:12 PM PDT

You pretty much just described cod
level up and pick what weapons to start with
killstreak rewards
veicle drops

not that halo couldn't do that but halo would have to change what makes it halo

halo is seperated from cod because of its maps if they were made on a big enough scale that your talking about itd be like wasteland or afgan

Adjective noun is Adjective.

hahaha funny. yeah sure. we would all love this but i wonder, what would we do to keep this alive. bungie wont pay for the severs because they're cheap. its a sad reality that bungie will act like they're so generous making a day to give out an unlock able armor by beating them but when it comes to something that's actually a loss for them they stop. well i never said bungie were bad or bad game makers but anyone who says they're generous is wrong.

  • 01.17.2010 7:33 AM PDT

ok 2 words INSANE LAG but it is a very good idea it would be alot of fun to play lol battlerifle all the way

  • 01.17.2010 8:26 AM PDT

What have i done...
i have unleashed a monster
for of which has no body

ORRRRRRR.... instead of going back to the ship to buy weapons each player could have a mobile shop like teleports weapon through device could have animation and it would be so cool to hold and stuff but of course you should hide when using for safety

I Blame Stosh

Ok, first of all I would like to say that this is a new game mode, not the entire multiplayer experience. It gets it's own special spot on the main menu, along with forge and theater. This game mode would have to have large teams, probably like 20 vs 20, and it would only be possible with dedicated servers, due to lag.

So this is how the game begins. I can't find the thread for it but somebody came up with the idea of spawning in a UNSC cruiser(or a Covenant one) and entering the battlefield with a HEV. I like this idea. So the game starts off with both teams in a UNSC cruiser. You have to find a HEV pod and go down to "The Perfect Map"

"The Perfect Map" is a map, imo, that utilizes everything. That means every weapon, and vehicle. That means that the map must have large open areas for snipers, vehicles ect... but, it must also have tight areas where the shotgun would be the best weapon, and everything in between. It would be a hard map to make but I believe Bungie would be able to pull it off.

When you enter the map you will start off with normal team slayer. The score will be 200. Once you're team scores 200 kills, you will be given a bomb, and you must finish up the game with a game of assault. However you will ONLY be given the bomb if you reach 200 kills. If blue team has 200, but red team only has 150, then the red team won't be given a bomb. Once red team also get 200, the get their own bomb.

Now there has to be a few twists. A big one I think would be adding Campaign scoring. so every time you kill somebody you get points, and you get more points when you get medals. Now obviously these points can be used for bragging rights, but maybe they can do more. Ok lets say you were doing really good, you just got a killing frenzy, but you died. You have a lot of points, because you got 10 kills, and not to mention the medals. So you spawn in the cruiser, but instead of going straight down, you go to a weapons shop. With those points you can buy a secondary weapon. Now I bet the thing I just said probably made 50% of the Halo Reach forum's population get mad, but just bare with me. These weapons would be expensive, so even though you got 10 kills, maybe you only have enough points for a Battle Rifle, or Carbine. In order for you to get a sniper, you would have to have way more points. However to keep it fair you can only buy 1 weapon at a time, so you can't go down with a sniper and rockets. Don't worry though, there will still be weapons on the map.

Now if you have been reading this far and aren't mad at me, you might like what's next. Ever been in the position where you need a vehicle, except you can't find one. Well I think we should be able to call in vehicle drops, from a pelican. You would obviously call in the drops using your points. So lets say I called in a pelican to drop me a mongoose. I would have to hold my position, for 30 seconds, until the pelican comes. If I die, the pelican will come anyway, and drop the vehicle, anybody would be able to take it.

So that is the basic of the mode I am thinking of. Obviously there are problems with this idea, like communicating with a team of 20 but people have said a squad system might work. So yeah, this is my idea, and tell me what you think.

PLEASE READ
Oh and if you want to see everyone's idea's, go to page 8 and go to AbruptArc's post. Also I highly recommend you guys look at Half Demon ANBU's post on page 10. I would post them, but I don't have enough room. Ok, I have gotten a lot of post saying I've copied this idea from Section 8, and I would like to say I didn't. I had no idea what Section 8 was when I made this thread. I just found out about it when someone mentioned it a couple of pages on, and I then googled it. I watched some gameplay videos and all I found similar was dropping from orbit(in Section 8, it's more like the sky). And so I am sorry if this idea isn't "New" enough for you guys. Next time I make a thread about a new idea, I'll make sure no other game has ever done it before.

Love IT!

  • 01.17.2010 6:13 PM PDT

I think that Bungie's too far into the development of Reach to completely implement this game mode, but this thread has such a plethora of unique and awesome ideas, I think Bungie would have to be stupid not to sift through it for their next game. Who knows, maybe some time down the road we will get to see an amazing all-out-war type game mode from Bungie.

As for me, I am behind this idea completely.

  • 01.17.2010 6:52 PM PDT

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted. Understand the meaning of these words. It matters not how we complete our task, only that it's done.

This specific gametype I don't see working from a practical standpoint. It would be easy for members of one team to each wait in the cruiser after they died until the whole team was there, then let the time run out to piss off the other team (while still in the Slayer portion of the game). Besides annoying an opposing team, it would also be a cheap strategy for winning a game, with a team cruiser-camping after they are far ahead enough in kills to ensure they won. We've seen exactly this sort of tactic on The Pit in Halo 3.

That said, the idea of blending two gametypes over the course of one match like you said I think would be great, it's easy to see where there could be fun and challenge with that. Or simultaneously having two goals (100 kills, 3 flag caps i.e.) which you needed to complete, but could complete in any order, would be a lot of fun. It'd be a great way to show off Halo's versatility too.

i love the idea bungie look at this idea cant wait till the game comes out

  • 01.18.2010 6:04 AM PDT

it would give you the feeling like gta mixed with halo 3 odst so yes it would be cool coming down in a
pod.
