Everything is pretty good besides the fact that people would camp in the ship. Like you said(Or someone else) they could set a time limit for being there.

How about if you spawned in a drop pod? It counts down like in ODST.

It takes about 10-20 Seconds to get down.

While in the drop pod you could spend your points on weapons. Instead of having to go around the ship.

my tank will blow your house away if you don't

i like the idea alot but the gun shop thing is the part i don't like i think we should be able to pick up are weapons from the map and before we spawn

So can someone explain to me the difference between a dedicated server and a what bungie uses now? Because people are saying that this will only work because of the lag of 20 v 20.

Bungie (and most other games on the market) uses player host. This means one xbox handles most of the online syncing while running a game. A dedicated server would mean bungie invests in computers dedicated to running the online match and nothing else (not entirely true, one server can handle multiple matches).

If they included this they could charge like 90 $ / <your currency here> for it. I would totally buy it anyway though :)

Halo:Reach=FTW!

Entering the map with a HEV pod would be awesome, but i would like if one team had a UNSC cruiser, and the other Covenant.

I like the 20 v 20 idea and some game matches could also be 10 v 10 v 10 v 10 for some extreme carnage

Technically, the cake can NOT be a like. It was seen, in its' true form, to be so deliciously moist. Therefore, you not attending the party was a grave mistake, and you are now shamed in the world. How do you sleep at night?

I think that this game mode would be awesome. But the weapon shop would be kind of a drag on the halo franchise. A way to improve it, I think, would be to have designated places on the map,(Example: behind some hills, or behind the dropline*) that cost points to access. Say you score 20 kills, and that gets you 200 points. You can call in a sort of, weapon drop, like light assault, heavy assault, vehicle, and sniper weapon packs. The light assault has an assault rifle, a few frag grenades, and a magnum pistol, with ammo. The heavy assault has a rocket launcher, spartan laser, a bunch of frag grenades, and ammo. The vehicle drop gives you, depending on how many points you have, drops in a mongoose, warthog, that sweet truck-looking warthog(?), and a scorpion. The sniper weapon drop gives you a DMR, sniper rifle (obviously), defensive equipment, and ammo.

*The dropline, I'm thinking, should be the WIDE imaginary line that gives the person in the HEV safe passage to the ground. If the HEV goes outside the dropline, it has the danger of being shot at by the opposing teams flak, which can be controlled by players, to gain easy points in the beginning of the game, or be controlled by NPC's.

Also, with this idea, I think that when the team that gets 200 kills and gets the bomb cannot use these packs, but there is a weapons cache, that is dropped at their side of the map, which contains a variety of weapons, which respawn after 1 minute.

One more idea.

When both teams get the 200 kills required for the bomb, I think that both the teams ships should approach each other and 'dock' with each other. The docking places, relating back to the docking tubes in halo 2, on the level Cairo Station after you find Miranda and Johnson and you go for a space walk, except longer. MUCH longer.

Well, there you have it.

AND THAT PART OF GETTING TO 200 TO LATER GRAB A BOMB THAT'S AWESOME...

EVERYBODY WILL BE LIKE: " HOLY CRAP MAN, C'MON WE GOTTA GET 200 FASTER, WE CANNOT LET THEM TO PLANT THE BOMB ETC..."

BUT REALLY MAN UR IDEA IS GREAT( u should work at bungie)

CANZ WE PLAY NOW

we should try it as a forged map in halo 3 like in sandbox lower level

  • 02.13.2010 11:18 AM PDT

Halo 2; 12,000 games. Never stopped loving it.
Halo 3; 9,000 games. Never stopped loving it.
Halo Reach; Learning to love it and it's not working.

I know this word is abused but it would be Epic no doubt.
I really hope something like this could be a possibility.

Get WorkPLaced!!

I'm half and half on this idea. It seems cool, but a little to far away from the Halo action I'm used too.

With that being said the HEV thing sounds a lot like that game "Section 8", which is fun, but it gets really annoying to drop into orbit every single time you respawn.

I am the batman.

i like the idea, but the weapon shop would probably break the flow of things for me, besides, how would i fit a spartan laser and a assault rifle in a HEV?

Enjoy this Epic math fail.

This is a great idea, and yes, I do remember reading this from the original poster, thanks for the repost, but find the original author so we can give him praise for this game mode. This is great. Thanks for the repost.

ya that's a great idea the only thing you could add is if they cant afford a vehicle like a tank or warthog more than 1 person can help buy it or they could have a weapon drop to maybe at the same time.

I'm an Artist and Musician from the UK. I enjoy science and telling other people about it, often when they don't want me to. I'm also a fairly cynical person, but I enjoy wondering about new ideas and possibilities and the like. Wasn't that interesting?

If it could be done properly, then i think it would be utterly incredible and truly epic in the real sense of the word. It would be true halo warfare. I wasn't so keen on the 'assault bomb' idea, and i have my reservations about a weapons shop, but the massive carnage and idea of dropping into such dynamic combat with an award based point system have got me on your side.

It might be fun but I'm not to sure about it until I play it.

It just sounds a little risky
