I actually think this could be very good. Pitch the idea to bungie then see what they come up with. Like Say you tell them that and they critic even the smallest of things or the biggest aspects of it. It'd till come out great.

thats preety cool and i like the buying weapons and stuff but may be u have some sort of bank and every time u play this game u drop off with the weapons u buy like a class u drop down in but u can't be a bad ass and have a sniper and rocket laucher so they have a primary (assault rifle,battle rifle,o.d.s.t rifle,smg,spiker,needler and a carbine) and a secondary (rocket launcher,sniper rifle,shotgun,mauler,magnum,plasma pistol,fuel rod gun,spartan laser,energy sword,grav hammer, and again assault rifle or battle rifle)


and for the vehicles u can buy a expensive one at the market place and maybe some new vehicles for halo reach and its kind of like a garage because u can only hold but so many vehicles but the catch is if your vehicle gets destroyed u have ehither repair it or get rid of it and buy a new one.

when they start the game they have 45 seconds to choose what one of the weapons in their inventory and choose one of their own vehicles to to be where when they reach land in their drop pod.At the end of every game you can choose to go to the weapons and vehicles market to buy stuff with hope fully new points and instead of waiting after every game u can go to the main menu and go to the market place and the more you level up in this special game differint from matchmaking you unlock more things as u level up

this is a special catagory like ujjvald said and has nothing to do with matchmaking,campain or custom games. their rules of what kind weapons you spawn in. you would not go on match making and play team snipers with a battle rifle and rocket launcher. it only has to due with that special game with the other catagorys like campain,custom games,matchmaking and theater.

Maybe the game could be called team free for all and you drop on the biggest most best big team slayer map of all that no one should get bored of.

and i know this is completely off topic but what if the armour you choose like in halo 3 gives you special abilities like the scout head gives u better accauracy,haybusa give u more speed,recon gives u the ability to take 10 percent mor damage and regular armour gives u nothing and eva gives u a wider screen or idk whatever boost they can make. it will just make it more interesting

I think it also be pretty cool with the point system and buying weapons that when you get a high amount points you could get a choice of an orbital MAC bonbardment or if your the other team you get a plasma torpedo bonbardment.Another idea would be getting an airstrike from Longsword fighter/bombers or Seraph/Banshee fighter/bombers

I like this idea, but i'm afraid it would be going to close to MW2 with the weapon thing. Instead of respawning in the ship, you should respawn in a drop pod that was just launched. You should also be able to control the drop pod and land on top of people.

For the communication problem you could have 4 squads of 5 or 5 of 4, who can communicate by just talking into the mic, but then you can press down on the d-pad to communicate with the entire team.

Lose the point system... it makes it too much like other games

That sounds amazing! Of Course there should be a limit on vehicle drops but you probably thought that out. This sounds amazing, but the " Perfect Map" part and how to handle it all on the servers is going to be one kind of a challenge!

This idea is awesome! I hope they actually include this in Reach! Also like what Skyer58 said limit the vehicle drops and maybe add weapon drops as well but the only limit on those are 3 you know whenever your in that sistuation when you have to destroy something that's destroying your team and all. But I want to know why this will piss off 50% of the Halo Reach forums? This idea rocks! Good work on it.

It's been mentionerd before. Read Halo: The Cole Protocol, where the spartans and ODST's are dropping onto Metisette.

It sounds awesome but would would happen if your character was an elite? Would the drop from something else? Also I would be neat if you got randomly dropped in different sections in the map like a CQB or long range section so you have to be prepared for whatever situation.

I like the idea, but what do you think about also being able to call down small tactical buildings and turrets.
by "small tactical buildings" I mean a location where you can spwan instead of spwaning on a ship or a place where you can get weapons on the ground instead of dieing and getting them on the ship.

I really like this idea, it's quite interesting. There are a few modifications I would make to make sure it doesn't stray too far from the core Halo gameplay.

If the hitboxes on player models are perfect, make one team Elites and one team Spartans. Then drop one team from a Covenant cruiser and the other from a human cruiser. This would make it more epic as an alien vs. human kind of battle. Maybe, in the background story of the map, the two ships' engines are disabled, so you can still see them fighting and the ship shakes while you are prepping for drop.

Scrap the inventory - make players scrounge for weapons on the ground. Give the option of respawning after death either on the ground or in a pod. Give some control over the pod.

I love the air drop idea. Maybe make it a scripted event, or based on the team's score, rather than an individual. If the score is to 200 like you said, at 100 kills for the human side three Pelicans come swooping in low. One has a tank, one has a Warthog, and the other drops weapon pods. At other points during the game single Pelicans do likewise things. Maybe at 150 points a Pelican lands and players can actually control it.

Or maybe some players can stay in the cruiser as Pelican pilots, and ferry down supplies when called by their teammates. That might not work always because of screwing around and communication, but it would make things really dynamic.

I already replied and I still like it but if you're going to use the button method that the guy on page 10 said, it would work but I think the weapon selection for the drop should happen when you die because it would take too long to pick what weapons you want to drop on the field and when you finally about to click send, you get assassinated. Otherwise the other ideas are great. But I have a question, what if you could have multiple teams? That would be great. Bungie, if you're reading these, put this in and name the game mode Drop.

I REALLY like this whole idea. I would also like there to be a few small buildings on the map which the teams can capture and choose to spawn from. (because dropping out of a HEV every time would get boring) Even though it is probly too late in production to add this in, pitch it to bungie as Halo Reach DLC. I think a lot of people would invest 800 ms points for this mode.

Now that I think of it, The "Perfect Map" in which is described as being suitable for all weapons, vehicles, etc, should be an extremely large hillside (ie 4 times sandtrap's size). Similar to the top of a ball, but only a quarter would be used for gameplay. Each team lands/spawns on either the left or right side, not the top or bottom, which will make for fairer gameplay. There should be a large warehouse on the top middle of the hill, directly between the two drop zones.There could be a Warthog or two in here, so players could go barreling down the hill at a high speed. Maybe some underground CQB tunnels with slitted windows to snipe out of. (like the rooms on H1's tombstone.) At the middle/ bottom of the hill could be a few buildings that resemble a small town. This area would be great for riflemen to manuever around. At the bottom of the hill, a large, bumpy, rocky plain for vehicular combat.

Also, the points idea is cool, but weapons should be cheaper. A points system could also be used as a way to get a pelican to drop weapons & ammo on demand.

For example, you get 12 kills with your DMR and run out of ammo. You could run behind a rock, press down on the d pad and bring up a menu (similar to the forge menu) that consists of weapons, vehicles, grenades, health kits,and ammo. The base price for the pelican to drop somthing off is 50 points, or 5 kills. Weapons would be whatever the regular price is, grenades are 5 points each, health packs are 10, and ammo is 5 points per clip, battery (for covie weapons) or launch assembly(rocket or grenade launchers). Small vehicles (Mongeese) are 25 points. Medium vehicles (Warthogs) are 50 points and large vehicles(scorpions) are 100 points. You could also have the option of having up to 4 teammates spawned from the pelican with your delivery, which would cost 30 points per person. This would be useful if you also order a Warthog or a Scorpion, as you now have a wheelman or a gunner. Just as mentioned, the drop takes 30 seconds to get there, and if you die, your reward is free for the taking.(with the exception of the Team Spawner, they would just be dropped into a hot drop zone.) Also, if you spot a nearby enemy pelican, you could shoot it down with say, a missle pod and deny the person who bought the supply drop of their prize. You could then go to the crash site and salvage enemy hardware.

So back to your situation; you hide behind a rock and pull up the menu mentioned above. you buy 3 clips of DMR ammo for 20 points, a sniper rifle for 40 points, and a health pack for 10 points. You have 50 of your original 120 points remaining, and a supply drop incoming in 30 seconds.

Though this will be EXTREMELY-BLAMMIN HARD for Bungie to make, I think that with enough time and effort, it is possible. Well, maybe the 20v20 is a little far-fetched, 10v10 or 12v12 is a more realistic outcome. It would be easier if there were dedicated servers for this mode, as it would let the players control the teams and reduce lag to a certain extent.

thats ALOT of conditions for a gametype.

a perfect map? 20 vs 20? a bunch of what if and if this happens then you can do this and this? wat??!!

anyway im boiling it down to *just* buying weapons based on points. it seems like thats a good idea that can be rolled into other gametypes like slayer or bomb. kinda counterstrikey.

thats something i can get behind and can be used on every map and gametype in the game as an option.

thats kinda like halo 2 territories except you didn't choose where you spawned but capturing territories gave you spawn points and a time score.

btw halo 2 territories was one of the best halo gametypes in my opinion. some of my favorite halo 2 games came from that. shame they ruined it in h3.
