Or you could have a 45 second time limit to leave the cruiser. Other wise you die, loose all your points from that round and it adds 5 seconds to your respawn time each time you do it. So next time you die you'll have about 8 seconds. And if you stay in the cruiser too long again, you'll be up at 13 seconds, and it builds from there on. Something like that so one team doesn't get tons of points and then hide in the cruiser until time runs out.

But the chain link fence thing is a good idea, except do you mean it would open it up for everybody, just your team, or just you. I don't see how it could only let you and a couple others in without letting your whole team in or even the other team.

I like the idea but like you said there would probably be massive lag. Also the fighting would probably be insane it would be like playing btb on guardian unless u made a really massive map.

this idea like blew my mind with its awesomeness but anyways i think every squad should have its own armory so lets say i was the squad leader i would have my team sorta like halo 3 odst one sniper one demolitionist one heavy weapons guy a close quarters guy and a mixed one.

Or the squads could be role based like one squad is sniping another is a vehicle support squad another squad is the recovery one for the bomb while another is back-up squad responding to the other squads and a hunter/killer squad

The initial idea was not to have a structured class based gameplay, but rather have the players decide what role they would play in their respective squads on their own. It'd be like an organized version of regular Halo multiplayer in terms of player roles.

ya i was just saying you know and i would have my squad like that each of us getting the weapons we can use pretty good and ya i know that would be obvious but i would remind my group to make sure

Oh and i think the squad leader should be able to cycle through com channels to talk to the other squad leaders and i support the weapon drop and vehicle drops and that you should hold your ground for a set amount of time before they come down

well im pretty sure the drop pods would make a hole when you come down but really its a game they'll have you figure something out like maybe a climb feature and i doubt they would let you drop into a building seeing it might make it collapse but maybe onto the roof of that building

It's a great idea.

I would change, as you anticipated, the part where we go and buy weapons with our points. Inside the Cruiser, there are numerous weapon stashes locked in chain-linked fences that become available every time you get a certain number of kills.

Each weapon stash, depending on how easy it is to unlock, would hold specific weapons (the stash that requires 100 points would hold ARs, Maulers, SMGs, and Frag Grenades. The last one that requires 100,00 points would hold a Spartan Laser, a few Swords, and a Missile Pod) These are just examples.

Ex. You get 10 kills (as you said) and imagine those 10 kills scored you 100 points. In order to open the first chain-linked fence to get to the first weapon stash, you need 150 points. Once you have 150 points, you can walk up to any of the stashes that require 150 points or less to unlock, and unlock it.

You bring up some good ideas.

only problem with this is that, towards the end of the match, everyone would be using power weapons, and it would just turn into a laser-fest.

I really like this idea. It would be fun to play with 39 other people at one time. And having such large teams may present a communication problem but, if squads of 5 wore available with a squad leader who could report to the other squads then communication wouldn't be such a problem. And it would open up how you move about the map giving each squad an area to go to and so on. I would love to see something like this come from Bungie.

I actually like the idea. And I appriciate the fact every seemed to actually listen and read the whoel thing instead of commenting "scary wall wouldnt read" I especially like the idea of putting everything on the map. It would remind me of the good ol maps that would have all the stuff needed back in halo 2, (coag/blood gulch), ( headlong) . I mean really those were the gretest maps in halos history in my personal opinion. And i am glad blood gulch at least has a spiritual remake.

that a great idea start from unsc crusier then take a hev pod to get down to the map and a wepon shop call a pelicen to drop warthogs tankes ghost ect and frirst team with 200 kills gets a bomb. that is a cool idea hopefully bungie adds it

The map could be a large, two floored open area. The lower floor being underground bases/ a large tunnel system.

This is a good idea, I hope Bungie finds away to implament something like this.

I like it. The weapons shop idea is Extremely similar to a game called Wolfteam's options, you get points for kills, and the points allow you to use stronger weapons.

Seeing as how 99% of the posters like the basic design of this idea, I think that the author or somebody should refine all the different ideas posted by everyone.You know... organize it, cut out things ppl didnt like, add the cool new ideas ppl did liked, and then slap it on with a name that fits perfectly. If everyone wants this to reach Bungie ears, you should first present it in a most organized fashion =] and also keepin this thread alive helps. Keep on posting ppl. (and keep voting as well. the more the better) Make it into one of the hot topics so that more ppl can find out about this awesome idea that can really upgrade the gameplay of halo in general.

And think about it... Halo:Reach needs a new concept idea in its menu screen.. after all, all the halo sequels and expansions came with something new to offer: such has Map editor for Halo PC, xbx live and clan system for halo 2, forge and theater for halo 3, firefight for ODST... bungies next logical step would be... add one more new thing to the menu for Halo: Reach. THIS could be it if enuf ppl support it and it is refined into the epicness that it already is.

hmm I've been thinking that maybe you could trade in points for armor that could increase attributes such as running speed or attack power.
this system would be similar to world of warcraft's winter grasp battleground where the player would trade in tokens for certain items.

however maybe its best not to have guns on the pelican because thats would be a little too over powered.
since they would already have alot of hornetsor something shooting at them.

Yeah read flapjacks 1st post he came up with a good solution.
or, give them a small room in the cruiser, with the fences that open up when you get points. But, you get like 60 seconds before the drop to get weapons a nd stuff. 20 seconds before the drop the red lights and warning lights come on and then you have to get in your pods.

If you miss the drop, your spawned on the groud with no good weapons.

Everytime your killed, you can choose to spawn in the carrier or on the groud. And if you choose the cairier, you have 60 seconds again.
