"HE CAN'T BE STOPPED!!! IT ONLY MAKES HIM STRONGER!!!"
A great quote from every great action movie ever... EVER!

maybe you should make a new thread for this, first of all... and isn't that a lot like Star Wars Battlefront 2?

How'd you find me?

i love the idea, it has a few things i question but the basics are great, and you know what, it would take ages maybe, but a group should get together to create such a 'perfect map' on sandbox and try it out with a big-team type match, there's no reason we can't try something like this using what we already have

Actually I tried it this morning. you cant make detonations worth points. you cant make kills worth points in assualt. ehe map i still havent tried but it would fail due to no gametype for it.

Maybe they could try something like in Killzone 2 where you can switch gametypes without switching maps.

I like it all actually, a very very good Idea. This is why I believe Bungie should release the main mechanics of the game a lot earlier so that awesome ideas like this have time to be implemented. I also think that at a certain kill point, say, 170, to make it a bit mroe desperate, weapon and vehicle drops become a lot less available.

I used to tan KZ2, the way that its game was set out ruled, you have to prepare for the next round and sometimes get completely stopped in your tracks due to a change in objective, the only problem I had with it was that the rounds didnt flow as well as they could and didnt really fit a realistic idea.

EDIT: I just thought of something, one problem would be someone gets a crap laod of kills and wants to pool in to lets say a Scorpion, Hog and Falcon, will he be able to choose an amount to pool in and mroe importantly will the controls to do so make the game full of 'KILLKILLKILL- wait, need some stuff, one second, right so Hold right on the D-Pad, look through with my other finger, ooh, that looks good, Im going to choose a bit of points to put in that, right, nose to the X button, right, Damn, no not that much, right foot to the left stick now do a barrel roll to pool into a Scorpion...there we go. Gah fudge the games over, I only got 3 kills.'

You get the idea.

On the battlefield the most important person isn't who's giving the orders, but whos doing them. Thus one should always watch after one's allies, and keep them alive so they may keep you alive.

The weapon you hold doesn't have the skill, the person holding it does. Well done out there!

Sounds like a good idea. To try and help add on, perhaps the map could be an open field with some rocks, trees, hills the standard stuff, and then in the middle is a city kinda like in ODST. Not quite as big (because no one would be able to find each other) but large enough to make snipes across the map impossible. Now as to the whole spawn in a cruiser thing, that wouldn't work unless there was a human and covenant one (unless this is spartan versus spartan/elite versus elite only in which case it's fine). But for spartan versus elite, there could be both sides ships firing on each other throughout the game. The bomb you mentioned could be delivered into the enemy ship to destroy it, giving the winning side quite the "OH YEAH" experience.

Anything dropping in odst style is -blam!- awesome!!!!

  • 04.11.2010 9:19 PM PDT

yea and when your team gets the bomb(i know this is like swb but bear with me) u can drive pelicans or spirits to the other ships through space to deliver the bomb while the other tam can man turrets or just have dogfights.

That reminds me of CounterStrike. If I wanted to play counterstrike, i would play counterstrike. I play halo because I love it's physics and all that jazz, and its good they way they have it. I don't want counterstrike.

I didn't even like ODST that much.

My bobs won't listen to you.

I wonder how many people clicked an answer without reading the thread.
I miss race from Halo 1, VIP is not the same.

I treat death like it were my own child.

Generally, the idea is to much like Counter Strike and some other game (Sector something). This is something a little too far from what Bungie is doing right now, as it is technically a whole new type of multiplayer altogether.

It does sound cool though, especially if it had a Clan system, but things can get pretty rough there.

Although it sounds a little bit too impossible to implement in the game, having dogfights as a more developed, for say, better use of the vehicles? The Hornet in Halo 3 was obviously overpowered. The only thing the Banshee had against it was maneuverability.

A really large-scale type of mode, but I do wish there was something like that...

K

Maybe a future expansion pack? I would buy it, no doubt, This would be SSOOOO much fun!

  • 04.13.2010 5:13 PM PDT

Honestly great idea i must admit...
Although there would have to be some time limit to how long players are allowed to stay in the cruiser to avoid campers who will stay there until the end of the round.

Also the pelican idea sounds great except for 40 players to be in one round seems like your BEGGING for lag-city. You may be able to pull it off efficiently with teams of 10 or maybe a max of 12-15.

But thats a very great idea, keep 'em coming...

  • 04.13.2010 5:57 PM PDT

Waz Up?

Good but there is no Battle Rifle or Carbine in REACH!

  • 04.13.2010 8:14 PM PDT

I really like the idea for this gametype, but 100 kills in Big Team Slayer on Halo 3 takes way to long, and by the time the winning team hits 60, unless its like 60-55, half the losing team quits anyway, so the kill limit should probably stay at around 100, and once you hit that mark, you must deliver a bomb from your dropship to the opponent's dropship, blowing it up, and anyone unfortunate enough to be inside it.

RAWR IM A DINOSUAR

What would make more sence is that You Spawn in a SOVIE HEV, from there, you could slow controls the Pod, And you Could select you class falling in, when you hit, is you hit normaly, meaning you hit the ground running (LOL) you would be right in the fight, but is you hit in to some objects like Side of building you could die your have to hit the emergency bolts, and if you fell, still hurt, there based on your team or squads succsecc would allow you to to call in Pods stocked with ammo or weapons come down and hit near you, there you could open an pod and revive anything from a Mongosses(They fit read The Cole Protcole) and Ammo to rockets and snipers, and if your team is real good you could call in vehicles like a Warthog if your a spartan, to a ghost if your Covedent, these gametypes would have to be on large maps and game modes like invasion or genertor defense, where one team gets to drop in and then imeditly Dropships would come in and drop in vehicles

  • 04.14.2010 8:11 PM PDT

I think if you threw in drop pods for points.

HEACK YAH!!!!

  • 04.15.2010 7:19 PM PDT

Thank you... thank you bungie for creating HALO

I am sorry guys but i really want this idea to get to the bungie members just in case. Well really i was just wondering if it were to be ok to allow the gravity cannon to be in halo reach's forge mode please it was my favorite gun in halo custom edition

  • 04.15.2010 7:46 PM PDT

a Bear who is Lost...

i read 20vs20 and instantly clicked Yes!

  • 04.15.2010 8:38 PM PDT

It sounds a bit too hectic and part (my opinion) sounds a bit like mercenaries. However I could see loops. The sniper shoots and shotgunner, assasination kills the sniper, stickies kill the assasinator, shotgun kills the sticky sticker, sniper shoots the shotgunner, assasin....

  • 04.16.2010 6:19 AM PDT

ROSE.

I disagree, you shouldnt have to buy weapons during a war. or and the money or points would/should purpose what your giving it to.

You should just recieve greater weapons for your dominance in battle.

  • 04.16.2010 12:10 PM PDT

Phazon Injected.

this gametype sounds...interesting.
