hi

Why not make a drivable pelican? i mean that way you would have a people carrier and a vehicle drop off thing and with the new "class" system thats been put into this you could make a pilot class which spawns in its own area and the only way out is flying the pelican ( to stop abuse of the class ) just my suggestion though

i like it for the most part but i do not believe the whole weapon shop idea would fit into any one gametype. weapon drops or vehicle drops would be a cool addition to online battle because its something that has happened in the halo campaign. i do also not agree with the points system for purchasing weapons, but for unlocking bonus loadouts that would be unlocked automatically by reaching a points total. the name 'War' would be the perfect name for this gametype.

if you agree with my own view of this gametype just let me know. i also believe that this gametype would help out with that 'sandbox' feel that bungie wanted to build upon for future halo games.

I'm sure everyone knows this by now but some stuff in here made it to Reach. There are dropoffs in the new Invasion slayer on Bungie's biggest map ever with three levels. There might even be a few more secrets we don't know but I'm really diggin' the dropoffs.

This is perfect!!! i had something like this in mind once but i failed... anyway great ideas and the only problem foreseeable would be the lag problem... but apart from that i'll play it every day!!! and Spartans vs Elites!!!

Did Bungie listen to this guy? Because Invasion/Invasion Slayer is pretty similar to what he described.

E.O.D and Elites pwn

Too long and credits will already have a use.

Yeah this is a longer version of Invasion that he replaced the intel with a bomb

Instead of Big Team Battle this crap would be called MASSIVE Team Battle!! lol

  • 04.25.2010 7:24 PM PDT

I can mowdown mongooses. However, I cannot mowdown with a mongoose. However, I can mowdown a mongoose with a mongoose. I still struggle to get a mongoose mowdown by mowing down a mongoose with a mongoose.

I still don't have the achievamable, though.

I think this idea is WICKED, however, I rather unlock more weapons as I get more kills. This would be so epic... man... that would be so FREAKING AWESOME. Imagine just storming into battle alongside tons of other Spartans, and Elites storming towards you, wicked.

stop looking at me u perv >:(

ye then we the other team gets the bomb they hav to blow up ur cruiser and it turns into like a space fight AND before that when u call in a vehical drop in ur cruiser there are say 30 pelicans for the entire duration of the game, they dont respawn if they get shot down and only 5 of them can be active in any one go, you can sit in the pelicans and wait till the vehical drop is called in, the door will close after 5 seconds and the pelican will go down to 'the perfect map' u can be dropped off in the pelican or defend it from people trying to shoot it down.

First off this was a great idea. I think Bungie's Invasion/Invasion Slayer are a more balanced and Halo-like concept(even though it's full of new things). Boneyard is looking like that "Perfect map" large ground space for vehicles and CQB area inside the ship. They also made it Spartans vs Elites exclusive. Cant wait to play it. cant wait for the Beta. 20 vs 20 sounds awesome! anything more then 16 sounds awesome.

One more thing in the playlist's section on the reach homepage it lists Matchmaking, Arena, and a classified Section??? anyone know anything about this? or have a link to a forum dealing with that. thanks in advance.

It's a great idea.

I would change, as you anticipated, the part where we go and buy weapons with our points. Inside the Cruiser, there are numerous weapon stashes locked in chain-linked fences that become available every time you get a certain number of kills.

Each weapon stash, depending on how easy it is to unlock, would hold specific weapons (the stash that requires 100 points would hold ARs, Maulers, SMGs, and Frag Grenades. The last one that requires 100,00 points would hold a Spartan Laser, a few Swords, and a Missile Pod) These are just examples.

Ex. You get 10 kills (as you said) and imagine those 10 kills scored you 100 points. In order to open the first chain-linked fence to get to the first weapon stash, you need 150 points. Once you have 150 points, you can walk up to any of the stashes that require 150 points or less to unlock, and unlock it.

You bring up some good ideas.

only problem with this is that, towards the end of the match, everyone would be using power weapons, and it would just turn into a laser-fest.

But if 10 kills = 100 points then 10,000 kills = 100,000 points

Stick Or Be Stuck

Dumb: the perfect map its a nice idea but would never work would need to be massive and use minimum of 20 players and wouldnt make sense anyway bad is my opion tho i would like to see if it was possible

  • 04.26.2010 9:44 AM PDT

I'd really love to see this put into action, sounds pretty fun if you ask me.

You're right...Invasion is almost exactly like this game idea, just without all the complicated stuff.

If you go read all the links that crazy ole Urk posted today, you can see that one of the Bungie employees (I think it was Carney) actually said that the played around with the concept of earning and spending credits to purchase gear based on your performance during the match, but when they tested it, it was way too complicated.

My point exactly. Actually, come to think about it, the use of loadouts and drop spots seems like a much safer idea then earning cash and spending that.

Nontheless, I still mostly support this gametype and hope that it may see the light of day if Forge permits it.

This would be a great game mode if i thought that it could ever actually be made.
this type of game is so huge that not only would you have to set aside more than an hour to play one game. i mean in halo 3 some games a team deathmatch doesn't even reach 50 kills in about 15 mins, so how long do you think 200 kills + the time it takes to plant the bomb, which is already two games modes in one, going to take? this is as if your going to go out and playing on a real battlefield which is a great idea, but no practical in a game. this game type would have to also be it's own separate game because beyond all of what i said, people would want more than one map to play this on, and just making one perfect map would be hard enough, the amount of memory it would take to make this possible would be at least tow or three disks if not more.

Im one of those people that loves Halo and respects the game for what it is. Total awesomeness.I take the game series seriously just because i've been playing Halo for the last 10 years. And the shocking thing is that I am 13 years old. I started playing Halo when i was only 3 years old. Actually i could hold a controller and played and enjoyed every Halo game online. I cant wait to continue the Years of playing with Halo Reach!!!

Well considering that there is no BR,SMG, Splazer, or missle pods in the game i can say thats a good idea

  • 04.27.2010 6:08 PM PDT

This idea is cool and i think it would be fun to try out but i believe this idea is not yet able to be done on a console and an online service. The complexity of this idea is sweet but unfortunately would be too difficult to accomplish. Also imagine the amount of people that would ruin this gametype. But i give you major props for coming up with this idea. You are a BOSS :)

  • 04.27.2010 7:41 PM PDT

Do realize what it would take to put 40 people in one game? But I still love the idea.
