Maybe in the final version invasion will be expanded to include your idea!

yes and the map has to be more than 400 times as big as sandtrap as a whole and have a well drawn out game type

As you said, this gametype would certainly need some modifications to make it workable, but once completed I think that this would be great.

might as well have some uavs and maybe some underground passages in the map and gametype

is this just a variation on Invasion? as invasion has vehicle drops, and its in huge wide open maps with lots of weapons and load outs? the only difference is that you can buy weapons, which get me if i wrong is practically like the load out system as you progress through the batter you get access to better load outs.

the only differences are the UNSC carrier which i think is a idea taken from battlefield 2142 where you dropped from the titan war machines which were in the sky.

Try this idea:

15 players on each team (30 in one game)
Weapon Start:
UNSC:AR, Magnum
Covenant:Plasma rifle, Plasma Pistol

Everyone starts with 30 points

while waiting for game to start, players can either buy loadout weapons (will come back to this), base defenses, etc. . after game is full, a final 30 seconds to get stuff so last person to join gets a chance. When time starts, Huge door at front of base opens. Huge map, open territory. objective is to get to enemies base, go through it and destroy an objective, like a power core. Each player has a limit of 30 lives, each time they die they spawn back BEHIND the base, to stop being instantly killed by enemies attacking the base. When lives run out, players have the option to either leave the game or go into spectator mode, where they control a camera but cannot communicate with team mates who are alive. when you lose a life, you will go back to youre spawning area, and you have a 30 second respawn delay in which you can buy weapons, vehicles and base defences with the points you earn in your living time.)

POINTS:

1 point per kill
2 points per headshot kill
multikills:
normal points plus 1 point for each level of multikill (for example, a double kill would get you 2 points for the kills, plus 2 points for the double kill)

Points can be used during your respawn delay time.

WEAPONS:
DMR:10 points
Sniper rifle:20 points
Rockets: 30
n00b tube (yeah, i dont know its name): 50

You get the point (lol accidental pun :)

VEHICLES

Mongoose: 20
Warthog: 50
Scorpion:100

so on

BASE DEFENCES

Turret (max 5 per base):25 points
A.I. Marine/Grunt with AR/Plasma rifle (Max 5PB):50
Overshield layer for base objective (max of 3 layers at once):150

If bungie likes this idea then they can improve on it.

This Topic was created long ago. Much longer than before invasion was released to the public. I remember when this thread was new and when i first saw the Halo: Reach video that described how invasion worked i immediately thought of this thread. I really hope that bungie did in fact base inasion on this thread at least in small ways.

I like it. I would change it so it's all intense at the begining when you are at a station and you have a chance to pick your weapons(which are on racks) your armor ability(on racks) and your grenades.(racks) and then you are transported by a pelican/phantom to the battlefield. and it's all dramatic before the fight and then there is music and stuff. It would be a one-time thing though, for only your first match is like this as it would get old and would take too much time. It's really dramatic in my head anyway. oh and there would be no possibility of having 20 on 20. no way. theres just no way. maybe it's better that way. oh and you would have to soften it up to like 50 kills 8 vs 8 because it would take up a lot of time. You could even make it so you don't know their score too.

GREAT idea. I like the idea of this but the problem is that people don't play the objective, they go for kills. But the part where you need to get kills would surely be accomplished, because that's why people play the game. Also, if you look at Capture the Flag in Halo 3, half the time people go for kills and then with 30 seconds left they rush to cap the flag.

Overall, great idea and I hope to see something like it in the real game.

Well I don't know how accurate this is and don't flame me because I saw it, but Frontlines: Fuels of war on the off occasion there would be a 64 player game! That game has helis, jets, tanks, RCs, jeeps and anything. Might have been a hacked game or legit who knows but I've seen more than one of the matched have 64 player possible.

More on topic: I love the idea the only thing I disagree with is the vehicle drops, because I foresee multiple people dropping in vehicles and spamming. I think you should have to earn points by completing the objective, assisting, killing and not dying and then have the option to beam down a vehicle from your cruiser instantly because in a 40 player match people WILL be greedy or vicious and steal your drops before 30 seconds are up. :) Fingers crossed this thread gets recognised
