your idea about the points scored and vehicle drops made me think of something, hehe, imagine:

10 kill streak, press <right arrow> for ghost!
16 kill streak, press <right arrow> for banshee!

copied right away from cod, might sound odd to some of you but I would defenitely like it =)

you should have special sniper teams and assault teams as well which get dropped into different places.
you could also make it like d-day or sumin you storm a fort(beach ect..) and u can drop pod (on your own or u could do it as a team as explained below) into the game to a special place (this would cost points) or you can wait and gather a team and fly in using a peican into a well held enemy position as a special ops team who are like pro (you would have to all sacrifice points so say 1000 each teams would be of six)

I think this is a amazing idea a really hope it happens good idea mate. Also you could design your own squad and pelican and that comes in.

PM me or send me an FR and we can PLAY!!

what if instead of being 1 game of 200 kills and a bomb, it was a constant game which you were inserted into and you had your old score always and there were shops with weapon tiers to unlock and it was basically set in some where like new mombasa.

what if?

This is the most ridiculous and far fetched idea I've ever heard. Sounds like a game type Michael Bay would make. Nice try though!

It's a great idea.

I would change, as you anticipated, the part where we go and buy weapons with our points. Inside the Cruiser, there are numerous weapon stashes locked in chain-linked fences that become available every time you get a certain number of kills.

Each weapon stash, depending on how easy it is to unlock, would hold specific weapons (the stash that requires 100 points would hold ARs, Maulers, SMGs, and Frag Grenades. The last one that requires 100,000 points would hold a Spartan Laser, a few Swords, and a Missile Pod) These are just examples.

Ex. You get 10 kills (as you said) and imagine those 10 kills scored you 100 points. In order to open the first chain-linked fence to get to the first weapon stash, you need 150 points. Once you have 150 points, you can walk up to any of the stashes that require 150 points or less to unlock, and unlock it.

You bring up some good ideas.

This would be good stash wise but point based would make it so the winning team could immediately get the good weapons. You could also add a vehicle garage or two in the map with mongeese or gohsts, maybe falcons and banshees/vampires. Instead I would make it a time based thing, like the stashes are underground and you have to cover the entrance until the stash is secured. Then the entrance 'ckoses for 30 seconds so everyone can suit up. This would allow for last chance mad dashes for stuff if you are losing, but in the assault stage all stashes would default open as would garages. To open the garages you would do the same thing except there would be one at each teams base and you had to stand in the open to secure them. Once opened they would reset in five minuets.

Juice Box = Instant WIN

I like the idea but not the buying weapons thing. It would be too hard for Bungie.

I am a director, writer, and administrator for Abyss Studios. I can be contacted through halosavior001@yahoo.com

I voted no because it is simply not a Halo game. I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun, but Halo's games are meant to be short and sweet. This sort of thing seems really drawn out that most people won't be able to finish. Utilizing a point system within a game seems very complicated and not very practical; the last thing a person wants to do is shop while in the middle of a game. In fact, I'm pretty sure the current loadout system takes care of that problem.

I know we all want dedicated servers, but Halo has gone 10 years without them and everything seems to be in working order. 8v8 is just the right amount of players for a fun, fast paced game. Adding more people just gives you a game like MAG; people thought it would be the coolest game because of the amount of players it allowed (256 I believe). What were the biggest complaints when the game was released? So many people made it hard to stay alive for more than a few seconds at a time, or the maps were so big it was hard to find anyone.

Bigger isn't always better.

This is so much work, you could call it a whole new game.

Why not call it:
Halo: -blam!- zombie buying mechanic odst drop giant team battle ?

Sounds unbeliveable but unlike the PS3 the Xbox has a real crappy powersoure. PS3 currently has a game called MAG whic can host a 125 vs 125 while the Xbox can only at best do 26 vs 26

I am ready for battle dudes!!!!!!!

Dude i hope bungie read this man this is like an i dea from jesus him self no game has ever done this

Great concept, but if you let people buy weapons you'll have a bunch of noobs saving up until they can get rockets and blast the crap out of everybody. Also, the concept of having a vehicle drop is similar to CoD's airtstrike. You might want to raise the bar from 200 kills to at least 300, otherwise it'll take 10 minutes for one team to get a bomb. Also, while a team has a ball, you'd probably want to change the spawn points, that way there wouldn't be a bunch of camping noobs double fragging you.

A good Name for it would be World Domination

  • 05.11.2010 3:13 AM PDT

I like the idea of having a huge amount of players and epic battles but I don't like the weapon shop idea because if there are 40 people on the battle field your going to be dieing alot which means you get to/have to go to the shop everytime. The idea of accumulating points or money to buy weapons works much better in round based games such as Counter Strike. Also i feel like my favorite part of Halo games is the intense battles for the power weapons, and by allowing people to get those weapons elsewhere would take away from that. people would just camp around to get kills for a better weapon when they respawn. So if you take our the weapon shop your left with a big (slightly altered) game of Invasion.

i hope some one reads this but, what if instead of 20 vs 20 it'll be 10 vs 10 where you don't just call in vehicles but maybe even AI reinforcements! I mean it might be a kind of dumb idea, but wouldn't it be cool? if the enemy team were like grouped together and your teammates are nowhere in sight, you just use your points to call in a pelican full of AI troopers. maybe you could use them for a distraction or order them to go hold a position somewhere? I think they should be cheap since they are pretty weak but could hold their ground, even to their death. so maybe 200 points for a pelican full of troopers. idk it sounds pretty cool.

Is it weird when your American flag says "Made in Brazil" on its side... or is it just me...

I really don't have much to say other than " WOAH" if Bungie can pull this off it would be amazing, maybe amazing enough to be Halo's defining playlist? Another thing that could tie in to this mode could be the campaign, maybe these perfect maps would be somewhat like the levels in the campaign.

i dont know i like the vehicle drop idea but not the wepons

  • 05.12.2010 6:53 PM PDT

ok. this is a Horrible idea.
1- if you want this, go play invasion as it is the practical version of this.
2- 20v20 is to many players. you will be fragged constantly.
3- the vehicle "drop" system is already in place in the invasion mode, its just not as flashy.
4- the map size would be the comparable to texas.
5- last , but not least, crawl back to CoD because your still hooked on power weapons and kill sreak rewards.

  • 05.12.2010 9:37 PM PDT

I really like it and i disagree with people saying youre trying to copy CoD. A year ago if a player had suggested the loadout thing that bungie came up with i can think of a lot of games that they could have said they were copying. Similarities and copies r 2 different things. Personally i think this idea is awesome make it happen bungie.
