Man, September is so far away.

This sounds great, sort of a cover-all gametype/map. I would definitely play it, although dedicated servers would probably mean longer game searching. 20v20 would be great anyways, and the idea here is cool.

YES!!!! Having huge space-air fights would be the best it would be like the new starwars battlefront but even better! vote YES!!

Johnson knows what the ladies like.

That's cool, except it seems kinda complicated. I definitely agree with 20 on 20 slayer on a huge map but the points and cruiser don't seem like a great idea to me.

  • 06.19.2010 2:37 AM PDT

I love that idea.

Because of the big map i would probably have brand new, bigger vehicles that are drviable like The Scarab or Vultures.

  • 06.19.2010 6:20 AM PDT

Gun it Chief Gun it!!1!!

I would change that it's a 30 second wait to 10-20

  • 06.19.2010 6:48 AM PDT

Something like this would be awesome maybe they can pull it off on a smaller scale?

Heres my sugestion when your team reaches the designated amount of kills/points to receive a bomb, I think a pelican should drop it off in the center of the field and you would have to fight your way through to get to it. It should have a certai amount of health so if it takes anough damage the enemies could destroy it and you would have to call in another pelican. Once a player takes the bomb you should be able to get air lifted into the enemies cruiser to plant the bomb and show an ending cutscene of the enemy frigate exploding and your team winning the round. Please tell me what you think;)

Or you could have a 45 second time limit to leave the cruiser. Other wise you die, loose all your points from that round and it adds 5 seconds to your respawn time each time you do it. So next time you die you'll have about 8 seconds. And if you stay in the cruiser too long again, you'll be up at 13 seconds, and it builds from there on. Something like that so one team doesn't get tons of points and then hide in the cruiser until time runs out.

But the chain link fence thing is a good idea, except do you mean it would open it up for everybody, just your team, or just you. I don't see how it could only let you and a couple others in without letting your whole team in or even the other team.

in invasion they have forcefeilds that are team specific they could easily make one that is #of kills specific

doesnt make any sense for the pelican to drop off the bomb and then come pick you up.. bomb should start in carrier and you should load up on pelican from there

I gotz 1 Hot Topic!

I remember when this was a baby thread idea.

  • 06.20.2010 2:27 PM PDT

And for whoever plants the bomb, a longsword lands w/ the hangar open and all players on the team that planted the bomb have to be on before the bomb detonates.

Elijah pls join forgetastic

and how bout before 200 kills you do teritories for 10 min and the ones you capture are spawns for your team

  • 06.22.2010 11:12 AM PDT

Elijah pls join forgetastic

instead of buying the weapons the entire teams points are pooled then the more you have the better load outs your team gets but when some one dies your team loses 5 points so no team can have to much of a lead and instead of chat ing your team gets paired up in squads of 5 so you can only chat to them

Stop trolling.

No man, this sounds too complicated and unbalanced. A large scale Slayer would be awesome, but not with the whole weapon shop and only with like 12v12.

It's a good idea but I don't like the idea of it being a multiplayer game. Maybe 10 player Coop but not 20 vs 20... that's just a little too crazy if you know what I mean...

  • 06.22.2010 11:13 PM PDT

I think this is a good idea and well inspired i think that halo reach would only benefit from this.
It would be great to be able and play a long game for an hour or two, in reading the idea i only have a one grevance with it.

In order to make it longer and function better the score limit would need to be increased because personally i think that with a 20v20 game 200 points would be racked up easily so there would be no lime to spend points and order vehical drops.

But the idea itself is very good of a long "battle" as such with maybe good XP bonuses for the effort put in and different events/senarios

  • 06.23.2010 7:53 AM PDT

Why not just call in drop pods. much like the vehicle call ins but it it only be seconds. You can use the points you earned during battle. No weapon shop and you still stay in battle

WORT WORT WORT. Best Sound Ever

what if when the designated number of kills is reached you get a longsword like in halo CE (custom edition) players being the crew and everything then you have to fly into to space and launch a shiva tactical nuke on the opposing cruiser. why only a longsword? because they are fighting over a abandoned UNSC hangar with said longsword and nuke. the hangar similar to the one in the new reach trailer would launch the longsword then the team the nuke is intended for must either nutralise the longsword or board it and reverse the roles, ships come to pick everyone up the they are transported to the cruiser then must take upp the conrtols of fighters, spirts and pelicans, the latter two for boarding. the covenant ships sheilds have been 'disabled' but in actuallality thery were never there to begin with. the main ships on defense will use point defense systems to shoot down attackers (some cpu controlled some player controlled 5 or 6.) this would be ideal for me but thats just me.

  • 06.23.2010 10:44 AM PDT

I am a mute gamer.

I like the idea, but once you plant the bomb, every member on youir team boards their own longsword and has to defeat and destroy the covenant flagship. And red team could be elites, blue team could be spartans. Also red team should get seraph fighters. Then once one ship is destroyed, whoever destroyed its team wins the game.

i have to say your idea is really great and sound like hours upon hours of multiplayer carnage if it goes all the way, i will be happy to play it on the 14th of Sep.!

nah it wont work. Too laggy

  • 06.24.2010 6:28 PM PDT

I have a great idea. Your idea is perfect, except a couple things I would change. First, the game seems too short for something so massive. I would increase the score to, say, 500, and each team gets a bomb every time they reach a multiple of 100 kills, making for five bombs per team. You would have to take these bombs to various critical points within your enemy's base/ship, and once they're all neutralized, the enemy headquarters is disabled and you win. Now, in terms of points, I think I have a solution. Every time you reach a certain amount of points, a new loadout will become available to you. I think this is a brilliant opportunity for REACH's new gameplay elements to shine. Obviously, these loadouts would go from worst to best as you do better. The final loadout is a Captain/Arbiter(?) kind of deal that gets a weapon like the one at the 0:33 mark in this video. Only, instead of airstrikes, you're calling in Pelicans/Phantom supply drops. They dropships arrive with numerous items, but you can only take one thing before it takes off, and it'll take off after about, say, thirty seconds anyway. Obviously this "weapon" would look different for Elites and could only be used rarely. So, what do you think?

^^^^ That was obviously @ the OP ^^^^

  • 06.24.2010 6:53 PM PDT

This is a great idea ujjval16 and would be awesome if added to Halo Reach, but the only let downs would be the lag and the slayer score should be at least 300.
