  • 07.06.2010 10:37 AM PDT

[b] eh id like it minus the buing stuff then it would be perfect but the reason i said no buying is cuz theres enuf new thingsand they shouldnt make any more new stuff or else they would get rid of all the fans of the original games[b/]

Its pretty nice. Its different from all the other Halo game modes. it sounds fun. Just one thing i didnt like. Its the wait time on the pelican vehicle drop. You should make it 10-15sec.Not 30!!!!!!Thats too long game wise.

  • 07.06.2010 1:59 PM PDT

only problem is what map?! there's twenty people and boneyard needs quiet spots for snipers and sneaksters

  • 07.06.2010 3:42 PM PDT

It would be cool if while your falling in a drop pod you kick your door open and can shoot at other drop pods while falling, with the halo 3 warthog run song playing throughout the whole game

chaos theory dissaproves

Well, it is true that Bungie wont add anything more to Reach, but who's to say that this couldn't be DLC? I'd sure as hell buy an extra game type and maps if it were as epic as it sounds! Hell, maybe it should have its own disk! If it did, that could mean Bungie could create multiple maps and different gametypes like CTF, or a bomb-based game, like so many others have suggested. I dunno about you guys, but i'm willing to shell out ten or even twenty bucks for this.

  • 07.06.2010 10:52 PM PDT

i think that there should be garages and armorys for each side.multiple ones all over the map.includiong unsc ones in covenant territory and vice versa. awsome idea too for the mode. a war-like game type would be great

Sort of but you need to reward a good player by expanding the role of "Snipers" and other supporting troopers. You need a vast beautfull landscape and many more player, sort of like a whole world to campaign in . The win team will control the most terriotory after a couple hours.

MAYBE IF YOU GOT certan meadles you could have multiplyers to your points so say a over kilol is 2 times points and so on and if you could fight in space on your way to the map and if the red team has only 150 points and bnlue 200 red has a secret weapon to let them get the bomb sooner until they get 200 points but overall GREAT IDEA it sounds super cool and epic i would so play it

  • 07.07.2010 4:21 PM PDT

i agree with the chaos theory

  • 07.07.2010 4:21 PM PDT

There is no spoon (there are forks however)

my issue with the weapon purchase system is this.if you by some fluke get a large amount of kills early on in the game you will be able to purchase better weapons meaning you get more kills=more weapons etc... but if you do badly at the start you are basically stuck at the bottom (anyone who has suffered through a match of team doubles on "Vessel" will understand this feeling)i realise it is a bit stupid saying that bad gamers lose games but it doesn't seem fair for those who got to the top to assisted in staying there while those at the bottom are stuck there (I've just noticed that with a few tweaks this would make a fairly good communist propaganda pamphlet)

You killed Johnson!
You bastard!

Wasn't this called "Invasion" in the Halo: Reach Beta?

  • 07.07.2010 4:34 PM PDT

awsome idea man but i have an idea instead of the weapon shop. After you die and you got a whole bunch of points on the choose class screen classes are locked and you have to use your points to unlock them. i think its just a bit less complicated instead of walking around the cruiser looking for the shop so you can just get back into the battle.

I love the idea of calling in vehicle drops on pelicans but i have an idea instead of just calling in vehicles you can get a weapon drops too but for less points and take less time.

those are my ideas and they were just ideas so dont trash them

I hope bungie see's this thread :)

Hey, I'm Alex and I like games.

why the hell would you not like this? Its AMAZING!!

  • 07.08.2010 9:13 AM PDT

Bungie tried with Invasion, but they left out some of the most important things like the 20 vs. 20 and tactical drops.

It seems too much to me like a whole other game.
Great idea for a game, I think, like possibly a Call of Duty/Battlefield esque style, but Halo doesn't seem to be a good fit for it.
And it sounds an awful lot like the gametype Invasion for the most part, with a few delicate twists, such as player count and the weapon retrieval/currency system.
And if there is only one "Super Map", that it seems like would take a while to build, people would tire of it rather easy. And even if you made another one, through strenuous weeks and months of working, it would be good for maybe another month or so. And then you'll want more, and more and more, and i'm not so concerned the Halo servers can handle that many people, on one giant polygon infested map that by itself could possibly blow the servers.

But still, not a bad idea.
I'm not shooting it down completely, just a little skeptic towards it and if it has it's own playlist, why not?

Ok, first of all I would like to say that this is a new game mode, not the entire multiplayer experience. It gets it's own special spot on the main menu, along with forge and theater. This game mode would have to have large teams, probably like 20 vs 20, and it would only be possible with dedicated servers, due to lag.

So this is how the game begins. I can't find the thread for it but somebody came up with the idea of spawning in a UNSC cruiser(or a Covenant one) and entering the battlefield with a HEV. I like this idea. So the game starts off with both teams in a UNSC cruiser. You have to find a HEV pod and go down to "The Perfect Map"

"The Perfect Map" is a map, imo, that utilizes everything. That means every weapon, and vehicle. That means that the map must have large open areas for snipers, vehicles ect... but, it must also have tight areas where the shotgun would be the best weapon, and everything in between. It would be a hard map to make but I believe Bungie would be able to pull it off.

When you enter the map you will start off with normal team slayer. The score will be 200. Once you're team scores 200 kills, you will be given a bomb, and you must finish up the game with a game of assault. However you will ONLY be given the bomb if you reach 200 kills. If blue team has 200, but red team only has 150, then the red team won't be given a bomb. Once red team also get 200, the get their own bomb.

Now there has to be a few twists. A big one I think would be adding Campaign scoring. so every time you kill somebody you get points, and you get more points when you get medals. Now obviously these points can be used for bragging rights, but maybe they can do more. Ok lets say you were doing really good, you just got a killing frenzy, but you died. You have a lot of points, because you got 10 kills, and not to mention the medals. So you spawn in the cruiser, but instead of going straight down, you go to a weapons shop. With those points you can buy a secondary weapon. Now I bet the thing I just said probably made 50% of the Halo Reach forum's population get mad, but just bare with me. These weapons would be expensive, so even though you got 10 kills, maybe you only have enough points for a Battle Rifle, or Carbine. In order for you to get a sniper, you would have to have way more points. However to keep it fair you can only buy 1 weapon at a time, so you can't go down with a sniper and rockets. Don't worry though, there will still be weapons on the map.

Now if you have been reading this far and aren't mad at me, you might like what's next. Ever been in the position where you need a vehicle, except you can't find one. Well I think we should be able to call in vehicle drops, from a pelican. You would obviously call in the drops using your points. So lets say I called in a pelican to drop me a mongoose. I would have to hold my position, for 30 seconds, until the pelican comes. If I die, the pelican will come anyway, and drop the vehicle, anybody would be able to take it.

So that is the basic of the mode I am thinking of. Obviously there are problems with this idea, like communicating with a team of 20 but people have said a squad system might work. So yeah, this is my idea, and tell me what you think.

PLEASE READ
Oh and if you want to see everyone's idea's, go to page 8 and go to AbruptArc's post. Also I highly recommend you guys look at Half Demon ANBU's post on page 10. I would post them, but I don't have enough room. Ok, I have gotten a lot of post saying I've copied this idea from Section 8, and I would like to say I didn't. I had no idea what Section 8 was when I made this thread. I just found out about it when someone mentioned it a couple of pages on, and I then googled it. I watched some gameplay videos and all I found similar was dropping from orbit(in Section 8, it's more like the sky). And so I am sorry if this idea isn't "New" enough for you guys. Next time I make a thread about a new idea, I'll make sure no other game has ever done it before.

this sounds like a great idea but you're want to do something like battlefield 2142's titan gamemode but with locked killpoint boxes

its okay idea but it would take too much processor power unless u get the new xbox.plus the player number is way too fuking high for halo, less players mean less opisition which is better for me.
