La Vie Boheme

If you have been paying attention to the details of Halo 3: ODST's packaging, it comes with two discs. One for the campaign and firefight, the other for the original Halo 3 multiplayer with all DLC maps built in.

And if you have been paying attention to what the new Xbox 360 Dashboard Update has actually done, as of today, August 13th, you will have the ability to download a full game onto your hard drive from the Xbox Live Marketplace, without a disc.

If Halo 3: ODST is going to be one of the possible titles to download (which I'm pretty sure it will be due to the success of the series), will you have to download the two discs separately, or will they be combined?

If the are combined, then another question arises. How will you be able to transfer between the Campaign and Firefight disc, and the Multiplayer disc? They can't alter the game to have a "download specific" version, because it is just supposed to be your hard drive copying the files that are on the disc usually, and read its own memory rather than the solid disc in order for the game to function properly.

Please try to leave this discussion to an intelligent one.

The device has been modified....

Hmm if it were to be on Games on Demand Service I would either have to say...

1. Download Halo 3: ODST by itself for a cheaper price (but this is M$ so no idea)
2. Download both separately (Most likely)

I doubt they'd make a special download version where its all in one location otherwise they'd might as well have done that for the disc version. Good question however

The AR is an awesome weapon, RESPECT IT AS SUCH!!!

it might not even get onto the "games on demand" feature becase of this problem, or it could be released at two seperate downloads since they are two different games... in fact, i dont think that the halo 3 multiplayer will be downloadable, i think that it will only be disc one which is downloadabele... just my opinion

=D

I guess there's a possibility that ODST disc 1 could be sold as a stand alone game on Games on Demand for 30 dollars, like most games. The same could be done for the Halo 3 disc, but less money? Either that, or Disc 2 might only be sold with a hard copy from the store. Good point, I'm not so sure.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

ODST - disc 1
and
Halo 3 - includes campaign and multiplayer naturally
and
Map packs

?
The simplest I can think of.

The Flood Revolution is coming...

Games on Demand will be for older titles, trust me. It will be a while before you start seeing simultaneous releases of digital and disc. Just take a look at the titles they have now.

Halo 3: ODST is the last title you should be worried about when it comes to Games on Demand.

Also, a good majority of the games in that service....are not cheaper than you can find them in stores. They charge like 20 bucks for Rockstar Table Tennis.....but you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

I think the first game that will be a simultaneous release....will be a huge announcement. MS will make a huge deal out of it but still charge the same for it. It's so dumb.

La Vie Boheme

I'm not saying that I am going to be downloading this for myself (I admit to being a Bungie fanboy, and I already preordered Halo 3: ODST about a month ago), but I am just asking out of pure curiousity on how that would work out for people who don't want to, or can't, go to a store and pick it up.

Also, from the suggestions given some of them are saying that you'll be able to pay less than the retail price for it, or possibly even pay more. There is no way that Microsoft would make it cost less to buy it one way as opposed to another. The possibility of paying more would be something that Microsoft would do, but I would put a $10 cap on the raise in price just to download it.

Note: I am not expecting Halo 3: ODST to be a part of Games on Demand right away. I was just asking for when it ever does become a part of it.

убивать или быть убитыми

You wouldn't be able to download ODST from the dashboard because the Games on Demand feature only lets you buy games that have been on the market for a reasonable amount of time.
