In this screenshot from the upcoming website revamp, I noticed something interesting. Under the ODST section, there is a row of skulls, 10 skulls to be exact. 3 of which are highlighted.

At first, I thought this corresponded to the number of skulls activated in a recent firefight session. But there are only 8 gold skulls used in firefight, in addition to 4 extra silver skulls. So it cannot be firefight. So they must be the skulls located so far in the campaign.

Which means that there are 10 skulls hidden in ODST. 8 of them could be the same gold skulls from Halo 3, but would the other two be two of the silver skulls, or they could be new. Hell, all 10 could be new.

Okay, that's my theory/guess. What are your thoughts or skull hopes?

hmmm...

there are 10 skulls... and 10 firefight maps...

i wonder if you need to find the skull in each area to unlock the firefight map that corresponds with that area...

Maybe there's a campaign level for each firefight map. That doesn't line up with other info sources, but neither does the number of firefight maps.

Edit: Apparently I'm wrong, forgot about Alpha Site and Security Zone being the same level.

the firefight maps are confirmed to be parts of campaign levels

some campaign levels have more than one corresponding firefight map

both security zone and alpha site are in the same campaign level

maybe you find the skulls in deserted bulidings (the buildings in new mombasa wer u play the rookie) its such a big area and you will probably be able 2 get in to at least some of them

no the skulls your looking at i believe are the ones for the multiplayer maps like longshore, or they could be the ones that are activated in firefight when you have one of them start up i think you get the achievement. So excited can't wait =p

Ok back in the days of Halo 2 I wasn't that into gaming and certainly didn't know anything about hidden skulls, I know some of the Halo 2 skulls were the same/similar to those in Halo 3 but were there other skulls that wern't in Halo 3?

What I'm saying is could the 2 extra skulls be Halo 2 skulls incorporated for firefight, In which case I presume the skulls are highlighted when they get activated in firefight.

I don't think so. There's only 1 skull per mythic map. I don't think there's 10 mythic maps. I think they would be part of Halo 3 anyways. The only skulls you choose to activate are the 4 halo 3 silver skulls. The 8 (obviously no fog skull) gold skulls activate on their own. The numbers don't really add up. 8+4=12=/=10. But you may be right.

Well, they could do Anger (Faster firing enemies)
Assassins (All enemies become cloaked) might work, although with the VISR it seems pointless.
I doubt they'd do envy (gives you Arbiter style cloaking)
Ghost (Enemies do not flinch from damage) sounds like it would work.
Unnamed (A.I. gets a huge boost, notices shadows, weapon reload sounds, cloaked enemies, and also aims better.) could also work.

I'd place my money on Anger and Ghost if they used 2.

Hmmm I agree with your choices but I just noticed something while browsing the ODST forums.

As you can see in this screenshot the HUD only shows 7 skulls. That seems to crush the Halo 2 skulls theory.

3 of the 10 skulls are silver skulls.

I'm beginning to think that these shots are rather old, besides all of the placeholder. This shot of from Firefight game history shows 8 gold skulls and 4 silver skulls. It could be from a time before they removed thunderstorm. But why would they bother removing thunderstorm?
