Subject: Why should I buy what I already have?

I want to know why they are making us buy the maps that most of us already have. Putting the mythic and legendary map packs that I already payed for in the game adds almost $20 to it. I would be glad to pay $40 for the game without the maps, but the fact that I have to pay extra money for what I don't need makes me not want to buy the game. They say that it has enough things packed in it to make it like a full game, and I agree. That is, if you didn't already own halo 3. If you have halo 3 then you are paying for maps you probably already have, and the same matchmaking you already have, and My question is, will there ever be a stripped down version of the game for people who already own the maps?

"Why should I buy what I already have?"

Because everyone knows you're going to anyway.

If I had one wish for Bungie.net, it would be to be able to change my username. Even if it cost me Microsoft Fun-Money, Space Bucks, or Stosh Dollars. That is all.

The game alone is worth more than $40. At least $50, then $10 for the new maps.

If you don't care about the campaign, than just sell your halo 3 disk and problem is solved

  • 08.13.2009 4:55 PM PDT

What do you mean a stripped down version for people who already have the maps? Nobody has them. There's 3 new maps, you know,

And if you really hate it so much, then don't buy it. It doesn't make a difference.

Halo is great. Bungie is great.

I agree. I think bungie should have comeout with two versions. One with the three new maps to download to your hardrive (kinda like the Halo 2 multiplayer map pack) and ODST campaign and firefight. The other just like their doing. But it would of confused a lot more people and bungie would not get as much money.

...What the hell are you talking about?!?!?

Halo 3 ODST has:

$30 campaign
$20 firefight
$10 new maps

plus

$10 Heroic maps
$10 Legendary Maps
$10 Mythic Maps
$20 Normal Halo 3 Maps

And that equals $110 bucks.

You're getting a deal my friend.

MechanicalHorizn:
You must lay a sacrifice on the almighty altar of FRAG. It demands you get 4 kills with 1 laser shot.
Only then will the gods be appeased.

Me: Im going to hell...

The Complete Halo 3 Experience is just a bonus!
The 60$ is:
Halo 3: ODST Campaign (which is suppose to be relitively the same length as Halo 3's
Firefight
Mythic Maps Part 2
Reach Beta
1000 More Gamerscore
New gameplay elements to the Halo Universe
New story to the Halo Universe
Engineers, badass floating purple things that fix stuff
A new Drone Leader
Recon Armor
And open world gameplay

That right there without the Heroic,Legendary,Mythic P1, and cold storage maps is worth 60 dollars. All of that+ Halo 3 mythic should be 80$ but isn't.

if knowledge is power and power corrupts, isn't knowledge therefore dangerous?

Why you gotta hate? Btw firefight mode is cool and all, but not worth $20.

You simply bought a chance to play the new maps that were not included with,"Halo 3" early. That also gave you opportunity to play in exclusive playlists that require the maps. If you had fun for the time you had the maps, I think it was worth your money.

Voilà!In view,a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity,is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

look at it this way since you already have the maps your really just paying for extra space on your hard drive. Once I pick up my copy of ODST I'm going to delete the 10 maps from my hard drive and if I ever need them again I can always download them again for FREE off marketplace, so your not buying maps you already have your buying hard drive space that you don't have.

Good one.

Datass

They're not making you buy anything that you already have. They're putting out new content with free maps that everyone has. Besides that, bungie said that if it was their choice, they'd make it 30 bucks. So feel free to think like the idiot that you are, but the truth is, no one gives a -blam!- dude
