Subject: Why should I buy what I already have?

Posted by: micael kinkema
although originally everyone was quite happy with the expected price of 40$
That was when the game was thought just to have a campaign. Firefight was added and the price jumped.

Salsa

someone had already put this in another thing so dont tell me that i stole what this person said
im just passing it on

Halo 3:ODST campaign alone is 60$
as long as it has more than 6 hours of gameplay is considered a full game with a full 60$ price tag. A multiplayer is not required for a full game

The other contents such as firefight, reach beta, the second multiplayer, ect. is not needed but bungie was nice enough to make and create it just for us. Or as andextras or bonus

they will give us our bang for our buck

I want to know why they are making us buy the maps that most of us already have. Putting the mythic and legendary map packs that I already payed for in the game adds almost $20 to it. I would be glad to pay $40 for the game without the maps, but the fact that I have to pay extra money for what I don't need makes me not want to buy the game. They say that it has enough things packed in it to make it like a full game, and I agree. That is, if you didn't already own halo 3. If you have halo 3 then you are paying for maps you probably already have, and the same matchmaking you already have, and My question is, will there ever be a stripped down version of the game for people who already own the maps?

Read this, page 2 will help
You don't own ODST so quite b.i.t.c.h.i.n.g.

Master Chief

Your not buying Halo 3 with it it just a bonus the games alone is worth $60 Microsoft decides the price not Bungie Microsoft counts a game a full game if it has single player campaign with minimum of 6 hours 1000GS of achievments some feature and ODST meets all those requirements so in order to get your moneys worth they added the Halo 3 multiplayer disc this isnt new news its old so stop complaining about it and BTW Betas are free so you either buy the game or not

That is really just a lame idea. A version of the game without the maps. They are already giving you multiple multiplayer modes. ODST is a complete game on its own, without the Halo 3 multiplayer

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

You shouldn't.

If you don't care about the campaign, than just sell your halo 3 disk and problem is solved
Very good point.

We just need to instigate more elitism and Mythic shenanigans.

I dont think I would want a pickle that big. Thats like 2 babies worth of pickle.
...What the hell are you talking about?!?!?

Halo 3 ODST has:

$30 campaign
$20 firefight
$10 new maps

plus

$10 Heroic maps
$10 Legendary Maps
$10 Mythic Maps
$20 Normal Halo 3 Maps

And that equals $110 bucks.

You're getting a deal my friend.
The only new content it includes is the campaign, firefight, and the new maps. That is not worth $110 dollars. Maybe 60, maybe not, but the heroic maps aren't worth ten bucks, anyone can get them free from the marketplace. The legendary maps are also less than that, they have had the price lowered. The old mythic maps are worth it if you don't have them, but why pay for something twice?

What it comes down to is this, if you think the new content that you are getting is worth the money, buy the game. If you don't, don't buy it.

It is that simple.

I am sure that Bungie realizes that people won't want to pay for something they already have, and they have decided that people will buy the game at its current price, and people who don't have all the maps or Halo 3 at all will get a great deal at the same time. Just make the decision, and quit -blam!-ing about it.

Your logic is flawed and your opinion is wrong!

I doubt you have Halo 3: ODST's Campaign and Firefight.

"Why should I buy what I already have?"

Because everyone knows you're going to anyway.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

If you actually liked Halo for it's storyline not just it's multiplayer, than you should definately buy this game like most people are.

The game alone is worth more than $40. At least $50, then $10 for the new maps.

You can't tell people what its worth, you decide what you think its worth.

Don't worry that your paying for what you have again. Just think about what you are getting new with ODST and decide if you want to get it based on what you think it's worth.

The campaign, fire fight, 3 new maps, and Halo Reach Beta more than make up for it.
