Subject: Please build better netcode in Reach

Everyone should know that in H3 there is bullet refunding on the SMG, AR, and the BR. Bullet refunding in my opinion has taken the fun that was once had in H3...if there can be any fun had in the first place. While BR spread is annoying, it's actually the bullet refunding that creates the most frustration.

There's nothing worse than shooting someone over and over...and then you die only because your bullets dropped because of the crappy netcode in H3. For those who will come back with the excuse of..."it doesn't happen very often" please stop before you start typing it...it does happen, and it happens QUITE OFTEN!

Here's hoping that Reach's multiplayer will have a new netcode, or at least an improved one, one without bullet refunding.

It would all have to do with the game engine itself. If it would still run on HAVOK then I agree.

I agree, it seems to me that Halo has worse netcode than many other games. Half Life seems to have great netcode so hopefully Reach's is improved from Halo 3.

Peace through superior firepower.

I'll try... Not really my kind of work though...

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Huh? Poor netcode isn't the fault of the engine used, it's an issue of the code not working well with that engine.

You know, It is amazing. If you pay for a real internet connection thats not from k-mart, Most of these problems are solved.

You know, it is amazing. Even if you pay for the cheapest internet service most broadband ISPs deliver, it's more than enough for internet gaming.

Being the kind of person who believes that Halo 3 currently has the greatest netcode of all time purely because it's Halo doesn't get anything done for anyone.

shoot first ask questions later.

i like shadowrun's netcode just because it's client side and no matter what if your on a relatively decent host, your bullets WILL connect, it's hit scan and if the bullet doesn't register it keeps sending that to the host untill it finally accepts it, even though you get shot through teleports / around corners by it, it's still nice.

I'll remember that while my bullets get refunded on LAN.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

I agree, build the Netcode with 20 players in mind, that way it should function well with 16 players.

I'll also remember that while my bullets get refunded in single player campaign.

@ BIGNERENT:
Wow dude, what a great comment. Here's why you obviously put no thought into that:

1- Do you pay for your internet or do you parents? I can prob. guess that answer to that.

2- Have you ever heard of geographical limitations/limited ISP? I can get 12 mbits down /.640 up, and I am looking into potentially increasing that to .750 up. However, unless I want to pay $200/month for a T1 connection (only 1dn/1up mind you, it goes up from there), thats my only choice.

3- And what about, I dunno, people maybe can't afford to upgrade their connection, like hmmm college students perhaps?

Wow you are an idiot, get a friggin' life, troll.

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

The -blam!- are you talking about, man? Quite honestly the only problem I ever had with Halo 3 MP was that when someone quit the game would end. This only happened once every 300 games or so though.
