The Flood Revolution is coming...

Oh boo hoo. Halo 2 died off long ago when it was overconsumed with button glitches. I say get reid of the old, make way for the new!

Far, far from it, my friend. Halo 2 is still going strong to this very day. The other day I played some matchmaking in Team Slayer and Snipers. I managed to get into a match no problem. Halo 2 has much better maps, Bungie now has no excuse. They NEED to make Blood Gulch for Halo 3, as we don't even have one to play online with now.
He doesn't mean in the ability to find a match or the number of people playing, he means the game is broken and over exploited. Sad thing about that is that most find the cheating in the game to be the most competitive part of it. And I wish people would stop bringing up that boring, overly hyped map. Let it go.

It's far from boring. Sure, it may be a little overhyped I'll give you that. But boring? I think the thousands of Halo fans will disagree with you there.

I've actually just finished playing a session of Halo 2. Didn't actually encounter anyone who used button glitches.

Coagulation was an excellent map, as was Relic, Terminal, and Waterworks. Halo 2 being taken offline means that I cannot play these maps any more.

I pay for Xbox Live, surely I should be able to play what I bloody well please to instead of having Microsoft/Bungie dictating what I play for me?

Exactly! I love Waterworks, Relic Terminal, Beaver Creek, Warlock and Coagulation, all of which are not in Halo 3. You don't see any other game developer doing this to their past games. Of course, because it's Halo it will be easily forgiven...

Like you said, I pay them for Xbox Live, I should be able to play Xbox Live games without some idiot taking down the servers. What I want to know is who had the bright idea of doing this. Unforgiveable, Microsoft.

halo 2 ftw it is a good game and i bet if it had all the halo 3 options like forge and theater it would be better than halo 3 most of the maps are better than halo 3 so microsoft taking it down is going to get them slapped really hard maybe evan *facepalm*

I get why people would be upset, but there are other ways of playing halo 2 online other than xbox live, xbox connect wasn't it? dont know if im allowed to say it but i would say the majority of people who still pay halo 2 are hardcore fans, as the majority would havemoved to halo 3 by now, and if it means that we can have more friends and change the architecture for the whole of xbox live, i think its a good decision, its only one game...

Wait, WHAT? Does that mean we wont even be able to create a custom game in Halo 2? There are still machinimas that I want to make in that game. Please someone explain to me what will happen with multiplayer.

basically there is a RUMOUR that they are going to turn off xbox LIVE support for halo 2 (and potentially the whole original xbox live service) in order to allow people to add over 100 friends,\

Multiplayer will still be in the game, but not online, LAN parties will still be available etc, so no worries about ur movie...

Oh no man. I wanted to make a video in Halo 2 multiplayer. That is so dumb. Why would they get rid of it? I still see some people who have the first xbox because they cannot afford the new one. And I still enjoy Halo 2 ALOT! God I just don't understand why. I mean yeah it would be nice to have over 100 friends, and the xbox 360 could do it without original xbox live service. But who plays with 100 friends? Enough to keep them on their friendslist? Ive never even filled up 70 friends because I delete people who havent been online in a while, or people who I barley play with. Seriously. There aren't even 100 sophomores in my school.

Tertius Vicis lepor Cepos

I love Halo 2 with all of my heart.

Xbox Connect is a pain to set up, and, as far as I know, is prone to epic lag.

I see no reason why Microsoft can't just release a patch that allows you to have more than 100 XBL Friends. I wouldn't be complaining if maps that I liked from Halo 2 were in Halo 3, but they're not, and now I can't go back to Halo 2 to play them.

Bungies refusal to remake fan favourites makes this situation worse. I probably wouldn't care as much otherwise.

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

I hope this isn't true! I didn't get to play much H2 online because I got LIVE like the day before halo 3 came out. When I'm bored, I still enjoy a good online match every once in a while.

I don't hate Halo 2, I love it but I don't see much people playing in it and in my opinion, I think it's nearly dead.

They remade Midship and Lockout because the fans wanted them. The reason they refuse to remake Coagulaion is that, in their minds, they already did with Valhalla.

"Its old" isn't a valid excuse for stopping people from playing, imo. If people enjoy it, they should be allowed to continue to play it.

Halo 2 logs over 9000 (obvious Interweb meme) unique players per day. That's a lot of people. Heck, Halo 1 on the PC is still going strong.

But I will say this. I am glad I have the ability to play Halo 2 on PC. Yet I don't have many friends that play it.

Lockouts reincarnation to Blackout is questionable. To say it's an exact remake is a lie. Valhalla is also a spiritual successor, I don't think Bungie ever said it was a remake.

Honestly, if Bungie brought Headlong, Waterworks, Relic, and maybe Terminal or Coagulation (I care about Headlong, Waterworks and Relic more), i'd be happy. But with this, I won't be able to play these maps at all, and that's why this annoys me.
