No, you must be mistaken, you see, I'm correct and you're wrong. Simply put, if I'm arguing with you it's because you're so dumb I couldn't let you live another day without you realizing how retarded you really are... I wish I had a girlfriend =/

Would you like to press the "action" button (whatever be your controller setup) and bring up the action to trade guns with an ally?

Of course you could see ammo, and any other statistics necassary, and of course players couldn't "Spam" trade options.

Just a thought, any ideas that could be incorporated into this might be put in my OP.

Too complex; the current system is fine.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

It takes away from gameplay, and believe me, kids would grieve by spamming the option to trade.

Too complex? All it is, is a simple yes or no, to trading weapons... What's so complex about that?

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

Yes, I would still like the option to trade weapons with an Ally, but only in Campaign. In multiplayer it is fun trying to find a weapon to swap with your rocket launcher, so your teamate can have it while constantly on the lookout for enemies. Its the gamble I enjoy, often it pays off. Sometimes it doesnt.
The only other alternative is killing the marines or whoever has got the weapons. I still love finding 4 rocket Launchers, giving them all to marines, and putting them on the sides of the Scorpian. Without weapon trading you couldn't do things like that.

Initially I thought you were referring to the campaign, but even so it still isn't really necessary.

It's not necassary, however, it could improve gameplay. Whenever I play doubles with a friend, I understand that he is the better sniper, so instead of having to look for a weapon to give him the sniper, I could just give it to him.

I can see what you mean, of how that would be useful, but I like that gamble of trying to find a weapon! It makes it more... tactical. And anyway, you must have swapped a weapon in order to pick up the sniper, so stay near that weapon.

I did read the OP but you can't just say they couldn't spam you with the option. Either the option is allowed at anytime, or it wouldn't be practical to impliment.

How 'bout...

*You can only ask once, per weapon per person per life.
*All it is, is a "Trade weapon" in the top left corner of the screen. It goes away after, let's say, three seconds for a minute.

Beauty without intelligence, is like a masterpiece painted on a napkin.

There aren't any free buttons. In bumper jumper B is used as an action button, A is used as secondary reload/switch grenades, X is used for dropping/switching equipment, Y is used for to change weapon, LT is used to throw nades, RT is used to fire weapons, RB is used for melee, LB is used for jump, movement with the sticks, and D-pad is for communication.

The only way to get weapon switching in Halo: Reach would be if Bungie replaced one of these buttons with switching action, and I don't really like the idea of that. But I guess A button would be the easiest button to use, seeing it as pressing A will only make you pick up a gun, change nades, or reload secondary weapon. No one would like to plunder with X button and accidentally throw out a power drain on your teammates or so.

You know when you walk up to a vehicle and it gives you the option to drive, gun, or ride? Well maybe something similar could be used, for instance. Let's say Bumper Jumper, you walk directly in front of a Spartan, the option appears, and can be accessed via the "Action" button, B.

Of course you would have the ability to toggle this in like game controls or what not, so if you will never ask for a weapon, or don't want to be spammed with such requests, you could just turn it off.

If this were to be done in any way, it would be done best by not actually requesting it, but simply in the same way as picking up a weapon. The players switching weapons can for intance press B button at the same time, and they decide wether to change a weapon through communication with a microphone. But there should be something like a 2 second time for pressing the B button so that a guy running around your face pressing B all the time don't switch weapons with you just as you want to reload.

Still I don't consider weapon switching as a problem in matchmaking. The simple solution is just to change your weapon to another and your teammate can pick it up. It's useful in campaign though, as you cannot command your teammates to drop their weapon.

Sounds good... And I don't see it as a problem, but just a way to improve/ speed up gameplay.

This thread is actually a flaming topic in the Halo 3 forum, in there they describe things such as a two second synchronyzed holding action button thing, so that there is no actual "weapon stealing".
