I AGREE THAT ODST IS WORTH $60! READ THE OP! Here`s why:
20 dollars for Campaign
10 dollars for Firefight
10 for 3 new maps
20 for Mythic and Legendary maps
ODST`s content is optimized for those who don`t have all of Halo 3`s DLC. If you feel like ODST is overpriced, but still want the 3 new maps or the new Campaign, then I`ve made this thread to save YOU some money. Hey, even people who think the price is fair can save some money just by trading in their Halo 3 disc. Do this if you could live without playing Halo 3`s Campaign.
You know, if you feel that ODST is overpriced, why not trade in your Halo 3 disc? You get $20 back. See, then that takes out the cost of the Mythic and Legendary Map Packs. Now you're essentially paying $40 for the game.
$20 for Campaign
$10 for Firefight
$10 for 3 brank spankin' new maps
You get compensated for the Map Packs you bought.
OMG ITZ MAGIC!
EDIT: CONCERNING WHY I THINK ODST IS WORTH $60
If you already purchased the Mythic and Legendary maps, then the new Campaign, the new Firefight mode and the 3 new maps are worth $40, in my honest opinion. We have that established? Good.
Now, keep in mind Halo 3: ODST is being sold to more than just people who have Xbox LIVE, OR do not have all of Halo 3's DLC. That is another factor that comes in wih the pricing of ODST. People who don't have the Legendary and Mythic maps must pay for that content. Otherwise, Microsoft is giving away those maps "for free" to that audience, which results in less money coming to them. As a business (and especially, considering its M$), I don't think they'd be too happy to sell their items underpriced. You have to keep in mind that people who don't have Legendary and Mythic will purchase ODST too. Maybe ODST will bring in newer people? The people over at Microsoft believe that this audience (those who don't have these maps, don't have Xbox LIVE, or potential new people that might pick up this game) believe that this audience is large anough to warrant ODST's price.
So, I included Legendary and Mythic into the final price because of this audience that Microsoft is trying to appeal to. Otherwise, ODST could have been priced lower.
Oh, and realize that you don't have to do trade in your disc. This doesn't apply to everyone (as there are people who like the Campaign); you're free to do anything you want. If you don't like the Campaign, you don't play it so much, or you can live without it, then this suggestion is nice for you. Why would someone keep something that they're not going to use often? If you like your Multiplayer much better than Campaign, then giving up Halo 3's original campaign sounds like a good deal to me.
My post was to come off as a suggestion. It wasn't made to be a "solution", as it seems that some people look at it as.
