Subject: Dumb question, but...

I swear to DRUNK, I'm not GOD!

Is the only way to get the Halo 3 maps Longshore, Heretic, and Citadel (or whatever the last one was called) by purchasing Halo 3: ODST? Or can we expect those maps to be available separately through the marketplace at a later date?

For example, let's say I wasn't interested in Halo 3: ODST, Firefight, or the Halo Reach Beta, (Which I am, and have already pre-ordered it) and ONLY wanted the extra Halo 3 maps... would there be any way I could get just those?

Yes, a silly question, but I'm just curious. ^^

No. You have to buy ODST, unless you feel like waiting 6 or more months where it's possible that the maps might be released on the marketplace.

So ha ha at the person who doesn't want ODST.

like the other said minus flaming :
there is no plan to release these maps individually.

get ODST, because all playlists will slowly require you to have these maps (like bungie did for current map packs) ... and in the end you'll almost not be able to play anymore.

No, it isn't the only way to get them. Eventually the maps will come out in the market place, maybe about 1.5-3 months.

You have to buy ODST to get the maps instantly. Otherwise wait two or three more months for the new maps to find themselves on the marketplace. But it's your choice.

I dunno about that... I don't think they would have people buy the game, then pay for the online service, and then be forced to buy extra maps just so they could enjoy MM... there may be a backlash if they did that. And actually, you can still play Team Slayer without downloading even the heroic map-pack! I do wonder when they'll change this though, because Halo 2 DEMANDS that you download all the extra maps for that game to play MM.

6 or more months? really?, so when halo wars limited edition came out with the mythic map pack, how long did u have to wait for it to be on the marketplace? i could have sworn it was like 2 weeks?, ok if you dont know what your talking about then just be quite, seriously,

now to answer your question, it should only be a couple of weeks, and 1 month at the most after the game is released, that the maps will come out on the marketplace, so if your not interested in ODST then you dont have to waste your money
