theres not really a way. umm, if you have and programs opened like AIM or MSN or something, close that out. I close out of everything except my Firewalls and Spy Sweepers. Just try closing out of that. If that doesnt work check the ping. if its high join a different server. if its your server you prolly dont have a good enough internet 2 host. If that doesnt work un plug your modem (If you have 1) and let it "Cool Off" for like 5 minutes then reconnnect 2 the onternet and play online. otehr than that, you are out of luck. peace out. ill check back here l8ter 2 read your reply. c ya.

AHH! NO, don't -blam!- your modem.

the best thing for lag is to sort your servers by ping, and to also limit the number of players you can have on your server, so the ping is at a comfortable level.

The best things to do for lag are to:

1.) Obviously have a decent Internet connection
2.) Get Halo CE. Sure, it doesn't have as many servers or players, but there's a great improvement on lag.
3.) Make sure you get a decent host.

Also, Halo PC has really bad net code and wasn't sorted properly before it's release. Unfortunately if these suggestions don't help that much then I'm afraid you're going to have to live with it like so many others do. All the suggestions I've read and used in the past haven't really helped much with me, but I guess there's no harm in experimenting.

yah what people failed to ask you is (1) what type of internet connection do you have? and (2) what are your system spex? And also if your hosting a game with dial up dont even try, if its with cable or dsl you should limit the number of people to like 2-6, if you have t1-t3 lines you can get away with like 16 at most depending on your computer spex, but we need those 2 things to detirmine what the problem is.
