Subject: What's with Arrival?

The name's Ian, Game Designer at Whisper Game Studios, very off-and-on Bungie.net visitor and avid Bungie fan overall. Message me if you wish.

Bungie has had Arrival as level names several times throughout their games. 1st time being Marathon with Arrival being the first chapter and level name, then Halo 3 with the first cutscene being "Arrival" now there's a campaign and Firefight level named Arrival?!

Something to do with Arete Seven?

idk bungie is repetiitive. the level silent cartogropher and the covenant are almost the same.
land via pelican
take out covenant forces
get in a warthog
go searching for random objects. (silent cartogropher in halo those things that deactivate the shields)
something goes wrong (door gets lock in halo, johnsons squad dosnt make it in h3)

Its called arrival because you're arriving in the game.

Bro, lol, look up the definition on google of Cartographer. It's a map. The things the chief were sent to deactivate in the Covenant were shield towers. MUCH different.

i know but in the end you had to do something of finding a huge object and either getting what was in it or deactating something

Make sure you are right before you criticise someone else...A cartographer is someone who MAKES maps, not just " a map"

Silent Cartographer: Land, take out Covenant along the beach. Take Warthog, get into facility. Then, you fight your way through the building, the door locks, and you go back, deactivate it, then go back in, shoot some guys, get to the map, then escape.

The Covenant: Crash land, take out Covenant along the beach, get Warthog/Mongoose. Drive a little bit to another big part, take out Covenant vehicles. Enter building: Fight some more Covenant, get upstairs via elevator and deactivate tower's shield, then go back outside, take Hog/Goose back to the beach, get in Hornet, fight your way to the third tower, enter, deactivate, fight some flood and go back down. Then, take a Scorpion/Warthog, fight your way along the path, fly Hornet or use previous vehicle to take down 2 Scarabs. Then, fight through the next building with allied Flood, then, go backwards and the level ends.

They are barely alike.

You just looking a bit too far, aren't you? And I think the name Arrival makes clear what you can expect from that level.
