In ODST, will the brutes go into rage mode like in halo 2 so they'll be a real challenge, and not push overs.

I certainly hope so. That alone will add tons of time to the campaign as you engage a sqaud and run away as a pissed of Brute barrel towards you.

EDIT: Yes, in Halo 2, they were more of a challenge, so in that case..... i agree with you

They're same as in Halo 3... except they have "cover first" which means they seek cover more effectivly than in Halo 3. Another change is that the energy shield is now visible when under fire. They do have energy shield in Halo 3 but it lacks the shimmer.
Essentially the Brutes are still too weak, both in strenght and in endurance. But then you're a bit weaker than a Spartan...
They do berserk (in Halo 3 and ODST) but not as often as in Halo 2.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

The Halo3 mode wasn't any sort of rage.
- Very predictable
- They run in circles
- They jump high and slow in air
- They do a headbutt you can easily dodge and then assassinate them
= It's as if they forgot how to be mad predators when they got promoted

Much more exciting in Halo2. The berseker mode was their nature.
I saw them do it in one of the videos, slightly better but still very much like in Halo3. Atleast I'm weaker, but still can kill them by punching them :/
