Like the title said, what if Halo 3: ODST ending scene was the beginning of Halo 3?
How I know? The video that bungie created after Halo 3 was release: Here

Obviously, there are a couple of ODST, similar to the ODST character that is in Halo 3: ODST. Far as I know, Bungie had this planned all along. They knew that there was something missing, just before Halo 3 begin, and the place where Master chief jump into hyperspace away from the city of Mobasa. They had a step ahead from all of our theories.

Also; I just recently found out that Dare doesn't exist in the video, so the theory for betraying her squad is more likely a confirm.

Let me know what you think.

I don't think Bungie was missing anything when Halo 3 was released. ODST is just an extra side story.

personally i don't think this would be the ending, yes there's a group of ODST's but really they made those videos to prove that a Halo movie can be done. I doubt this will be the ending but nice idea though pretty clever. I leave for you kind sir some Kudos. But you may be right until then we'll never know.

I dunno, they could take it anywhere. I say no though, as we already know that eventually you exit the city and can go onto Tsvavo highway. Considering "recon" makes contact with Miranda during that level as well, I'd have to say it at least goes until that point.

I'm sure you'll him coming down from space during the game, but I don't think you'll end there. Because you know, it has to end for it's ending. They can't just cut it off when you see a glimpse of halo 3.

Yeah they missed alot because the last time you see the chief is when he is in high charity and thats it they dont say anything about what is happening on earth.

A little information I overheard from the employee
After Chief left, the covenant dugged the city up to get the key inside the portal.

Isn't that sort of implied? The covies came to earth and dug for the ark.
