I just hope it wont be like odst were you had to follow in the foot steps of the team but the way odst told the story would fit the situation of halo 4 if that is the case

I beleave cortana is completely comprimised by MB because she is degrading badly in H-Legends and she reverts to her look from Halo 1 (purple with short hair) in the trailer. in other words I fear Cortana dies in Halo Legends and MB takes her place in her form. :(

At the end of Halo 2 the Gravemind tells Cortana "Now I will ask, and you will answer: (Please correct me if im a little off). Was the Gravemind really asking Cortana this? Or was it asking it old ally? Wanting to know where it stood. Whos side it was on.

In Halo : Evolutions

There is a story where we see the gravemind asking cortana multiple questions and trying to take control of her

Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

The terminals mean nothing, there is no Halo 4 and never will be.

LOL

I lol'd too. Good times.

Can't wait to see how far off my theory is from the game. I've noticed people haven't realized how old it is.

  • 07.30.2011 2:35 PM PDT

After reading your very well put together theory, I could only come up with one very simple idea that explains how the new Halos will go.

-Humans are precusers
-The Forerunners want us to "Reclaim" our knowledge and advancedness. They've been raising us and protecting us from all enemies. (Flood, Covies)
-Once we reclaim our spot, the Forerunners will come out of hiding, and start a war to see who is the greatest specie.

Oh, and MB is bringing the Cheif to the Forerunners to show how advanced we have become, and that we're ready for a fight.

However, that's just my 2 cents.

avid forger, love vehicle gameplay

My question still remains, yet i'm sure it will be anwered in the next 2 forerunner saga books. Why in the world would forerunners want us to reclaim their stuff? We were their enemy, they defeated us, and de-evolved us. It makes no sense why we should be reclaimers and not, say the prophets. "For questions still linger on. Now I will ask and you will answer...

(see what I did there?}

Our DNA is very close to theirs for a start. So that might be partly why we can press all their buttons and stuff. Maybe by the end of the forerunner saga we will know whether or not the Precursors shaped both Forerunners and Humans and meant them to be brothers and sisters. And Chakas and Riser were really growing on Bornstellar by the end of Cryptum. Maybe by the end of the trilogy Humans will be more favorable to Forerunners. Who knows?

You better read that book because i don't think you want any spoilers from me.

The info from Cryptum contradicts your post that's why.

"There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe."
Gospel of John, 1:1-7

I just reread this, Wolver's theory and opog's theory. Now to finish it all off, I'll go read Lord Snakie's precursor theory.

Ah, how I love these things. Great read Agustus.

Here's my theory: Acoording to the books Dr.Halsey, Kelly, Linda and Fred are on that shield planet in Ghosts of Onyx. In the halo 4 trailer masterchief and cortana are heading toward what is apparently that planet. I think the chief will meet up with them. this will tie nicely with the ending of halo wars where the spirit of fire is in space. Now after the spirit of fire reaches the shield planet, chief and the others will have to use the spirit of fire to escape somehow. now somewhere in the story they will meet up with the gray team from the cole protocol. thats pretty much all i have for now.

I shat enough bricks after rading this thread to built the great wall of china.
If this is not part of the plot that 343i is doing, their doing it wrong. Because, honestly, this all makes sense.

Thus I refute thee

Such a brilliant and interesting read, I can really see the connections now, I always thought there would be a Halo 4 and with some of the relations you mentioned but still the OP has made an impressive read and something that is so believable for the game when it comes out. Do you think Bungies old game Marathon is somehow linked to the beginning of the end, so the beginning of the new game will be the start towards Marathon, now this may be ridiculous I don't know but I swear quite a few years back on here someone mentioned that because Marathon is set way after Halo it may be that it's also like a continuation of Halo, I don't know but it sounds interesting anyway.

hmmm... yes maybe since marathon takes place in 2800 maybe after halo 4 they (343i/ bungie) will make a remake of the old marathon game. its a theory but i think it might happen. 343i announced that halo 4 would be the beginning of a new trilogy but they didn't say if it would be a new marathon trilogy or a new halo trilogy.we'll just have to wait and see

Most people who play Halo don't know what a Forerunner is, a lot of my friends think the Covenant made the Halo rings, and that the Flood were a Covenant experiment gone wrong.

A game about the Forerunners would be confusing enough, bring the Precursors into it and everyone would be confused.

If they do sequels to Halo 3, they should be set a few months after, with you clearing up the last remnants of the Covenant; after all, High Charity and it's fleet can't have been all that remained.
I honestly expect Halo 4 to provides some insight on the Precursors, the Human-Forerunner War, and the Human-Prophet Alliance.

For some reason the text on OPs post is moving around like the Flood levels or the Green sft on Reach... That or I'm just really fkin tired...

  • 09.01.2011 3:41 AM PDT

I can only call this true dedication to Halo. I truly hope your theory is right because it would be amazing to learn more about the Forerunners and the Precursors. I also hope that the Legendary planet from Halo 3 and Halo 4 is Onyx. If it is Onyx there might be a possibilty that the Chief reunites with the other spartans and kick some Sentinel asses (even though they don't have an ass =P).
