ITT: I'm gonna describe my ideal dream map or map that I'd love to see in Reach, what I and many others were expecting Longshore to be (but better, :D)

A half forest half beach large BTB map, with elements from the first level of campaign and the seventh, with lots of room to move around in both on-foot and in vehicles, water also (submarines, pelicans, warthog carriers and vampires anyone? :D) but with not too much cover nor too little cover or atleast from others on the ground level, (not another Blood gulch) with four or five islands with one on the west, one of the east, and one in the middle, north, (and south?) with the usual in the middle power weapon (surrounded by a forest) and quite deep water (although you won't drown in it, and can still see the above) surrounding the main middle/main island (or one either side to cut off the bases, (possibly surrounded by forest again) but you can still walk through the river (or shallow/deep/whatever water, doesn't really matter)) and a beach leading to the water on all of the islands.

The map would be considerably bigger than Valhalla, depending on the max number of players allowed online (32, 16v16?? :DDD). It could have possible teleporters around the map (or mancannons to the north/south islands from each base, a teleporter to a small building or area with alot of cover, closer to the main island) and maybe a banshee (or two) for each team at either the spawns or separate north and south islands at either sides. The map wouldn't be completely open for aerial domination, as alot would be covered by forest, which would provide a considerable amount of cover by the trees, yet the beaches would be dangerous to travel, but wouldn't have no cover at all, possibly cover from some large/giant rocks on them. The islands would have spaces/paths for the ground-based vehicles to move, and they wouldn't be enclosed or have little space to move in. There would be probably 4/6 Warthogs (all chain guns on the back, no gauss) two ghosts, and maybe a prowler or maybe even a spectre if they decide to bring that back (it is better, Bungie...: )) for each team. There would be multiple medium-to-long ranged weapons in the map, (I don't think the BR will be in the game, and as much as I love it, I hope there isn't one, maybe a new weapon that will replace the it, but make it have more flaws, I.E not as good in CQB, etc... And the map would have a max of four snipers (two at each base, or the map could have more than 2 bases haha, I could go on but I won't)

The islands would have cover from eachother providing there were four or five by giant rocks, so the team that controlled the middle island would not completely obliterate the other team attacking from one permanent direction (their spawn area/direction), and these other islands would provide more opportunies to flank and would keep the other team alert and aware of their surroundings. The aerial barrier would be quite high so that the Banshee or other aerial vehicles could scout and tell their teammates where the enemies are heading, etc. There would maybe be a few waterfalls in the map just for that cool, awesome effect, also. The map would be for atleast 16 players, (don't know what the max player count will be in Reach (32? =DDD)) and would be hella awesome...

Anyways, post your suggestions and map ideas here, maybe even some drawn pictures of them and hope Bungie will take some notice.. : )

I still gotta play HCE. and naw, I was just thinking of some new vehicles for online, I don't think they'd work in that map (if they did make one similiar) and submarines would be cool... :)

oh...
well ............... you know why submarines wouldn't work, right? they can only attack water targets and they can't be hurt by anything else than submarines.

if you play HCE... try woodwork. it is a forest map with hogs, ghosts and some cool stuff. great ctf map.
(and don't forget bloodgulch, but it's common sense not to talk about the best map in a video game).

well they wouldn't have to be underwater permanently, they could come up to the surface and stay half underwater and half on top, that's what I was thinking of, and the water level wouldn't be too deep on the map (if they were on it) so they couldn't just escape by going into the water when on low health.

Yeah, alot of people have said the campaign is the best in the halo series, so i'll have to try it. i do think Halo 3's campaign is better than Halo 2's though, although Halo 2 is like twice as long.
