Just had an idea. "Decoy" equipment. You put it out and it makes a replica of your character that runs around. And say you have a flag or a bomb when you throw it the decoy also has the flag or bomb....get it??? lol seems like a good idea i just have trouble putting it into words... anyway tell me what you think

Kinda like the Heretic Leader (forgot his name lol) in Halo 2, that would be interesting.

Its not suitable as multiplayer equipment.

Equipment are designed to give an even local effect, but a uneven global effect. In effect, they change the gameplay environment, so everyone needs to adapt to the new situation, but it doesn't neccesarily give an advantage unless it is used properly.

For example, the power drain kills shields obviously, so if I throw it at a guy I'm trying to kill to shred his shields, I could get a quick and effective kill. However, if this guy is a flag carrier, and he manages to slip around a corner before I can shoot him in the head, he can get away scot free because I need to invest a few seconds to wait for the power drain to die or to destroy it myself as it would be unwise to charge through the field, losing my shield, around the corner where there may or may not be people waiting for me. Even local result, but globally he got the better end of the deal because I was stupid with using it.

All this decoy does in it's current form is give one team a pure advantage. I could understand if the decoy created several copies of different players and had them run around shooting things, but that would be a bit too complex.

No, you must be mistaken, you see, I'm correct and you're wrong. Simply put, if I'm arguing with you it's because you're so dumb I couldn't let you live another day without you realizing how retarded you really are... I wish I had a girlfriend =/

It sounds like a semi-good idea, but, for Bungie's sake, I don't think it'll be possible. Just imagine, if you will, how -blam!- difficult it would be to program something like this. If Halo: Reach's multiplayer is anything like Halo 3's (eg: the ability to change armor perms) programming this would be next to impossible. The decoy would have to absorb the information of the colors and perms of each player just to create an effective decoy.

All in all, interesting idea, but unfortunately nearly impossible to pull off.

That sounds a bit to complex to put in multiplayer... but i have another idea.

Instead of a decoy, how bout a dummy grenade for equipment? It would just be a small sphere that shows up on your motion tracker as a enemy, no matter which team your on.

I dont support this idea, but for gameplay reasons. But this quote is utter bull. YOU ARE NOT A PROGRAMMER. YOU CAN NOT MAKE THIS ARGUMENT.

Either way, you can already make a "clone" of yourself using a certain forge based, round ending glich. It WOULD NOT be hard to program. It might be unbalanced, but not difficult.

WHo cares if he runs around? just have him stand still.

but yeah, not going to happen because of the advantage thing.

I may not be a programmer, but my brother, another Halo 3 fan, is and I ran the idea by him and he told my why it wouldn't work.

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

Bull, make a "simple" website, and I dont mean a forum, an actual site, and that will still be long, and frustrating at times.

Any programing takes time, a clone would be very simple to make, all it would take is a little bit of time, and care.
