It's not really sandbox at all. All you do is go from 1 waypoint to another, but you decide how to get there.

I just realized that. it's not very creative. i know you find out what happened to your squad, but really, that would seem to get old after awhile. I hope there's more to the storyline after you find out what happened to everyone. don't get me wrong, i'm still PUMPED for ODST, but just not as much. flame on! :)

You don't actually have to go to all of the waypoints.

The only way point you HAVE to go to is the first one (Dutchs flashback) after which the entire city opens up for you to explore.

For all the game cares you could go back/forth between the upperleft corner of the map to the lower right corner of the map. Over and over, and over, again.

He was being sarcastic. The fact is, there are other waypoints in the city, not just ones that lead to clues. Some of the waypoints are Covenant strongholds, and some may just be points that have something worth investigating. Only some of the waypoints lead to flashbacks.

You can also place your own waypoints.

You could place them in the upperleft/lowerright corners of the map!

That would be sooo cool. Imagine all the extra storyline that is captured in the New Mombassa ruins and the easter eggs!! :)

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Well since there are always random covenant patrols throughout the city, it could possible be fun just to do that. And we all know Bungie will have hidden things to find. That makes exploring the city that much more fun.

No. IF you wanted to do missions, you'd have too go to the phone and get the map and set a waypoint.

If you wanted, you could (in Rookie's missions) go around and kill random covanents all you wanted.

Today a young man on acid realized that we are merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are one conciousness experiencing its self subjectively. Life is but a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves.
Here's Tom with the weather...

It's not a "War On Drugs", it's a war on personal freedom.

For me, it's something totally different.
ODST just seems to be lacking the mystique that surrounded each successive Halo release. It feels too much like it will just be an unimportant side-story.
Don't get me wrong, fleshing out the obscure points of the Halo universe is a good thing, I just don't feel excited about this facet of the timeline of the Halo "Story Arc". I want to love it and I hope I'm wrong. I hope we are witness to some significant revelations not unlike the aspect of the Heretic and his revolutionary exploits. I just want an epiphany of sorts that puts a fresh spin on things. I also miss the hype machine of the ARG variety which gave the community subtle (and overt) clues about who/what/when/where/why/how.

Anyway, here's to hoping I've been unnecessarily feeling jaded.
