Subject: Why does Power Drain + ODST = Death?

...Love, love is a blind man's game, you have to look around to know where you are...

Of course, you all may be confused on what I'm saying here, but if you toss a power drain at an odst in the campaign oh Halo 3, they die but, normal marines don't , why is that?

You may say this is unrelated to H3:ODST, I'm putting this out there, but would you think something like this can happen in H3:ODST, something like when you throw a power drain at a vehicle their engines die out, so maybe if a brute throws one at you, instead of losing shields you can, perhaps be unable to move, making you vunerable?

I am part of a gaming group that is based off of the Elites, and Covenant Army. If you are a fan of Elites, message me. We have a group with good talent as well. We have a ranking system that works,(Do not confuse with stupid clan systems). It is used to show dedicated members.

PS: Don't even bother unless you are 13 or older.

Something in their armor might make a weird reaction with the power drain....i dont know though

Nice find. I hope it doesn't affect our ODST's

  • 08.15.2009 5:24 PM PDT

why are you looking at this?

i just think that it would disable our visr...

  • 08.15.2009 5:27 PM PDT

Golf Wang. Brony.

Nah, the Covenant will use this brand new thing called the Stamina Drainer. It drains your stamina D:

  • 08.15.2009 5:27 PM PDT

No, guys there is no equipment in campaign or firefight. Also it may be because of all the electronics, but it maybe a glitch.

NO ONE EVER EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!

Call me a nerd, geek, or what ever but a power drain shouldnt effect an ODST. Their suits arent biolinked with thier DNA or anything and that armor is so plasma doesnt break through now if the visor got effect like really hazy then that would be cool or if u were exposed too long u would lose contact with the superintendent, a cortana like ai that helps u in the city, for a short time making u unable to use the map

You're most certainly not a nerd, as indicated by your spelling and grammar.

Thanks for explaining who the Superintendant is, because apparently most people haven't known for over a year. /sarcasm

Brutes CAN still use equipment, so... yes, there is equipment in ODST.

  • 08.15.2009 5:59 PM PDT

Hush. If you’re quiet enough, you can hear it on lips of unborn babes.

It will most likely drain your stamina and then begin to deplete your health.

  • 08.15.2009 6:56 PM PDT

Hard to tell.

I know Marines in the Halo 3 campaign fell over after standing in one for a few seconds.

Good question.

  • 08.15.2009 7:15 PM PDT

Why would you throw powerdrains at ODST's... Don't be cruel to them.

Dont ODSTs use a rudimentary version of Mjonir armor? I think i read this in a book or sumfing... that they use a weaker version of spartan armour that is suitable for normal humans. If this is the case then maybe power drains affect ODSTs cuz they... like spartans... hav shields (but weaker ones).

They should still affect it actually, physically. The final explosion is enough damage to kill a spartan with no shields.

no equipment in ODST, confirmed

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

Nice, I've never noticed that a Power Drainer had such a deadly affect on ODSTs in Halo 3.

dragon, you're correct, cuz if you remember in one of the first Halo ODST trailers, there was a bubble shield there. So yes there is equipment in Campaign.

As for the power drainer, I think since the visor is somewhat used with "power" it would be damaged. if you think about, a Spartan's armor increased there health. If that were damaged, their health would be damaged. In this case, ODST's visor would be the one that is damage. At least that is my theory.

Why does Bungie put us through such avid anticipation?

Lot of electronics in ODST helmets. When all of the shuts down in an instant it could fry the helmet an the ODST's head.

Yes the enemy can use equipment but you can't.
