The rating hasn't been officially announced yet (I believe), so anything is possible in Halo 3: ODST. Anything.
If the game is rated the usual M, then we won't be expecting much blood or gore, obviously. But what if ODST is rated MA 15+? Then there's an opportunity for some real *Honk*.
Some real *Honk* I would like to see in ODST, if it's rated the latter, is definately some stuff featured in the original Halo 3 ViDoc, Et, Tu Brute?

Watched it? Good, now you must know what I ment by *Honk*. Moving on.
When I saw the gorey features in that video for the first time, such as the Brute ripping the marines arms off, and the Elite slashing both of a Brute's lower legs off with twin Energy Swords, finishing him with a stab in the stomach, I was literally wowed. I was a little disappointed when we didn't see those scenes in Halo 3 itself, but it didn't turn me off of the game too much, luckily.
If it doesn't have a chance in ODST, then Reach would be the next step. Trust me, you'll wanna expect Reach to be graphic. What Bungie has done can't be undone, but what would you like to see?
