I think the flamethrower is fun, but it's only on one map, and easy to beat at range.
IMO, there should be a hand-held (non-Turret status) version, similar to the sentinal beam, i.e. more range, less damage.

OR, just stick the SB in MM..

I think it's a good idea, but maybe thats just the Pyromaniac in me..

Well the flamethrower is way too much of a noob weapon.

And the sentinel beam? In MATCHMAKING? That thing rips people to shreds in no time, if they had that it would be the new rocket lawn chair.

what about the other games such as halo wars maybe the spirit of fire got off a transmission
or (im not sure) but maybe wasnt the Ghost of Onyx set before the fall of reach
No, It was set after Halo 2, I think.

it was set even before reach.
and if we had heard about the SoF, then the omega spartan team would have appeared in halo 1/2/3, and cortana and keyes would have known about the halo ring somehow (or at least have more infos about forerunners. humans didn't know anything about forerunners before the start of the war).

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Sentinel beam is too powerful, it is impossible to balance. Fire animation causes lag. Also it is a little bit too powerful.

it began before reach, but the majority of the book (when they actually discover the sentinels) takes place during halo 2.

Ninjabag the tea-pirates!

I don't want to join your group.

I have a sentinel beam kill in matchmaking. One spawns on a community map that was in the last 7 on 7 playlist.

It's second to bottom on my weapon kills list.

It's not too powerful because it overheats really quickly and aims slowly.

Multiplayer isn't canon. Why is there Assembly? We never visited a covenant scarab factory (in the game).

Maybe we just stop to care about the timeline and see multiplayer separated from singleplayer

We never discovered gravity golf clubs in the Halo storyline, though they are in Halo 3's multiplayer, although only in Forge

There's no reason we couldnt have sentinel beams in multiplayer

It's not too powerful because it overheats really quickly and aims slowly.

You can fire it continuously with burst firing actually.

Its major balancing feature is the fact that it runs out of ammo quickly. Beyond that it functions as a strong close and medium range weapon, not even the BR can do that.

But I wouldn't say that its impossible to balance, it would just be a challenge, one that could pay off nicely. Its not like its banned from Halo 3 matchmaking either, its allowed on Atlas maps, Gauntlet uses one.

Twitter.
WyIdfyre: 'lol, who the hell would even wear those?'
AuSam: 'lol, who the hell would even have sex with dogs?'

Just a lighter one would be nice, AR sized.

Uhh they were discovered, the idea of them being an actual weapon just wasn't made in Halo: CE (I'm guessing)
