hey community
before you start, this can be summarised very quickly:

a forge mode for weapons and vehicle, and you can put em in your fileshare.
if you want to read more, go ahead. if you hate reading, or dont have the time, thats fine, share your views.
me and my dad were on a walk, and started talking about halo (as you do) we happened to be talking about things that would really improve halo (as you do), you know the kind of thing, bannuclearbomb as opposed to a hammer, 90 degree snap on forge, etc etc.
and then my dad mentioned something which i thought should go on here, just to see what you guys think.
he said that halo: reach could incorporate a system like Lynnex, where you can share things, and have them used by other people. after i reminded him that there was already fileshare, i thought "but a weapons and vehicles share would be great!"
here's how it would work:
1. user opens his halo: reach game, and from the main menu selects forge. he then enters a lobby, like the current one, with all the regular buttons, and another.
2. the user selects this option, which opens a drop-down menu, like the drop-down on the switch lobby option. there are 2 options: maps, and weapons and vehicles.
3. the user selects weapons and vehicles and is taken back to the lobby. in place of the maps menu, there are now two options in its place one for a list of weapons, and one for vehicles
4. lets say the user wants to make a weapon. he clicks on the weapons list and scrolls down. lets say the user hates the spiker (not that anyone else does ¬¬) the normal loading and start forge is used, and the game begins.
5. before the user is the weapon, which is treated as though it were being held by the editor in map forge. the user can spin it round, zoom in, zoom out, etc. there is the blue screen background that you get in all of the halo lobbies (or whatever its changed to for reach)
6. the user presses x, as you normally would to create stuff. up comes a list of stuff to add, such as a scope, trigger and so forth.
7. after the user has created a weapon that he thinks is mucho badass, he moves onto the other lists (like regular forge has, with vehicles, goals, spawners etc) and adds lights, and flashing gizmos, as well as how many shots it gets, ammo or charge, and other technicals.
8. the user can now drop into human mode and test his new gun. he can go back into forge mode and change some stuffs, or he can call up a vehicle to test what effect his uber spiker has on it.
9. the user, finding it better than the original spiker, which well, it would be, saves the new spiker under the name "uber spiker lolololololololololol" he is not a very serious user. his new weapon is now available to him in forge and custom games and can be used as normal.
10. this is the bit that i think is the best bit. the user thinks his spiker is sooo amazing, that he puts it on his fileshare. other people can now download and use or edit his gun as they see fit.
11. the user's spiker is an epic success. he gets a hundred million downloads.
12.it is so popular in fact, that it is noticed by bungie. they take a look at this spiker, and decide that its far better than the current spiker, and would benefit the game, and so update the game so that the new spiker is used in place of the old one.
Extra points:
the user does not have to start from a weapon template, although this would be easier. there would be an option to start from scratch, however, a firing animation would have to be taken from a current weapon, or driving controls taken from another vehicle.
in the case of a weapon, the user could summon some ghostly arms which would show where the arms would go, and blocks that interfered would not be allowed to be placed.
if the weapon/vehicle is amazingly overpowered, then obviously it won't make it into the game. however, if the user wants to use his weapons/vehicles without them downloading them, they will be replaced by the original variant, or if made from scratch, the weapon from which the firing animation was taken.
