Im not skipping school and that good cause most people are skipping and getting it during the day so when I get home no long lines!! : )

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

My copy of ODST is being shipped to my front door, I'll get home from a long day of high-school and find it on my kitchen table...

Not going to lie, I did for the launch of Halo 3, but noticed a major problem with that. An addiction is something that effects your life in a negitve way or if you become mentally dependent on it (yes that can go for video games, or weed, ect.) now skipping school or work will regardless effect you in a negitive way. I understand the need to want to play it but doesnt anyone else think thats going too far?

Hopefully you wont so you can learn jow to spell skipping right

I thought about skipping but then I was like... "No."

"I'll just skip the rest of the week!"

>:D

Ive never skipped school for a video game, but i might for this one, it all depends on my schedule, I have an AP class and Im not about to miss that for a video game, besides, its not like i havent waited a year plus for every other good game, this is my first preorder and Im happy with that

overall: education>>>vidoe game

u guys think that one day of not going to skool means that urnot going to get an education, it just means ul have to make ur work up later gall

No, the point is that people would rather skip a day in their education to get a game slightly earlier than the rest of the public, meaning:

a) You need to sort out your priorities. Sure, you can make up the work, but you weren't there when your teacher explained how to do everything.
b)Unless you're off from work/school/both (if you're a teacher) and you DIDN'T take the day off yourself, you have no legitimate reason to not go for a video game release which you could get later that day. NOBODY needs to play a game THAT much.

In a way I agree, but at the same time I have contradictions.

I've always gone to school, sucked it up, and dealt with it. All the time I'll know kids that will skip a day just to sleep in or take a break because they are sick of it all, and I've never let myself do that.

Now that ODST is coming out I'm really torn on my decisions. On one hand, school is very important and sometimes a pain to make up. However, on the other hand, there are very few times that I can take a break and have a load of fun. Why should I keep doing the same boring thing every day and never have some time for myself?

I think I finally made my decision yesterday that I will skip school that day. Although I may be skipping I'll probably get all of my work done ahead of time so I don't have to worry about anything.

And besides, I would have to wait even longer than most people, I have Football practice after school : /

I can haz ur mumz

Skipping school to play video games is just a sign of failure at life for me.

  • 08.17.2009 9:06 AM PDT

1 day off from work or school to relax and play anew video game isn't anything wrong. Its just that,a day to relax and play a video game.Who cares?

Teh OMGZ you misesd skool n now u failz 4 life.

No.Theres nothing wrong with it.

I am quite likely going to take the day off from work for it.I work hard enough as it is.I need a break.

Why would you have to skip school or take a day off at work and not just use your regular days off as in saturday and sunday to play video games?

Because it comes out on a Tuesday and I have it reserved and around here they only hold reserves for 48 hours after the games release. So its take a day off Tuesday or Thursday.Either way.

Go to school or you'll end up like this guy, children.

Well, I'm skipping myself. I've been waiting a year for the day of ODST's release. Why not enjoy it...?

  • 08.17.2009 9:20 AM PDT

Because they want to.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

I'm taking my vacation pay out that week, so I'm taking the week off work.

I will not be skipping school for a damn video game. Also, the quarter does not start for me until Sept 24.

  • 08.18.2009 8:17 AM PDT

People think skipping school for a video game makes them "cool", or "better in the game and real life." They think video games>real life and education, when real life and education>video games.

Eat raw meat.
Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

My school's awesome, I wouldn't want to skip it (I get to play drums in one of my classes, that's why).
