First off, I'd like to let anyone who say my thread titled "I am NOT looking forward to Reach" to forget about it, because my opinion has changed, as you can see in this thread.

Alright, so, I can't believe I didn't see it before now. In Reach, there's a 90% chance you'll be wearing MJOLNIR Mark V. Any Halo 1 fans? If so, rejoice, because this means:
Old Health System (you'll need Optican, AKA Health Packs)
Single Wielding

And possibly more. The purpose of Reach isn't to give players a glimpse of the battle for Reach was like in game form; it's to finally bring back some Halo CE features! A good way for Bungie to go out, if you ask me.

Now, this still presents a question. It regards the HUD. Let's face it, the Halo CE HUD got boring, and with new graphics and such we're going to want a new one. How about Bungie does what they did with Halo 3 and change some things? Sounds good to me. Personally, I'd like the shielding and health system to be presented the same way ODST did. It looked so much better.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Sounds like a well thought out theory. To start, I'd like to say that there will probably be dual-wielding. It was a feature added to Halo 2, but, as seen in Halo Wars, is possible with Mark IV suits, let alone Mark V (remember, stuff added to new Halo games is usually retroactive, meaning it has existed for a long period that just that game's timeframe. Look at the Hornet. Only added during Halo 3, but has existed in the Haloverse since before the Human-Covenant War).

I'd image that fans have wanted a throw back to Halo 1 for a while, and Halo Reach is a good way to do that. We also have the possibility of the return of John (though doubtful).

I think the main idea, though, is for fans to have one more Halo game from Bungie with mulitplayer matchmaking capability (and God knows how often people complain about Halo 3's multiplayer).

I don't know about you, but I think that ODST is definitely made to please the Halo: CE fans.

Take a look at what ODST is offering:

- A health system similar to CE with Health Packs and less shielding.

- A powerful pistol that has a scope on it.

- No Battle Rifle at all.

- No Dual Wielding.

- Less power beyond melee (I think so since it's an ODST, but not positive)

- Most of the people that worked on ODST also worked on Halo: CE, it was their project.

All of these things are very slight changes, but they all seem to point to the general direction of, "Let's bring back the Halo: CE feel and please the fans that have been with us for a long time."

Now, I'm not saying it's not possible that Reach may be much like what you said, it's just that I think they will take a more fresh direction with Reach rather than a throwback approach..
