How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

Should you have to lead your shot like in Halo 2 and Halo CE?

Reply with your opinion, in favor of balance. This has nothing to do with timeline, it's in favor of weapon balance.

You didn't have to lead your shots with a sniper in Halo 2, only CE.

And Yes, I was sad they got rid of leading your shots from CE to their later "better installments."

Sniping was not only more fun and challenging, but also provided much more depth to long distance rifle use, something that is now missed.

No, leading your sniper bullet would be a terrible idea.

No, leading your sniper bullet would be a terrible idea.

You had no reason as why you say so. Point invalidated. You did not say what impact it would have on gameplay, so you have no point.

Halo CE did have a very slight delay, such as when firing across from one side of blood gulch to the other, not sure about halo 2.

Instant hit is better, and more realistic considering the small size of all the maps. You have to fire over an entire mile to have something like 1 second of flight time, and no maps come close to that.

EDIT: After checking some stats I'd estimate the halo sniper rounds would be traveling at at least 3000 feet per second or higher. And I'd put the max map diameter at 1/4 a mile tops (1349 ft). Realistically delay would be almost non-existent.

yeah, what he said... in average iq of 13 terms... and then we all have to add into the formula that after almost 500 years we would have figured out how to make our bullets go faster>.< i mean yeah nothing is instant, but it can still happen faster than reaction time, there fore movement of a moving target

Halo1 are better cuz you hav awesome gemplay elameantz that are dummed down fer de sequelz wich are suppozedly betar.

Hah. Actually, the sniper rifle in Halo 3 is not hitscan - the bullet just travels so fast that leading is almost completely unecessary on any map other than Sandtrap - if you fire the sniper rifle from one end of sandtrap to the other, it'll take almost three frames for the shot to travel across the map. You have to lead your shots maybe just somewhat in extremely long range situations in Halo 3.

In fact, no weapon in Halo 3 is hitscan. Well, maybe the sentinel beam is.

I'm pretty sure that the laser is hitscan.

"There are technically no hitscan weapons in Halo 3. The closest a projectile is to hitscan in Halo 3 is the Spartan laser, which instantly checks for a collision within the weapon's maximum range (that range is the largest of any weapon in Halo 3)."

Halo 1, 2 and 3 you didn't have to lead, did you? The sniper is a 50 cal correct? You wouldn't have to lead unless you were shooting literally cross the distance of like 2 sandtraps. Unless you have some crappy wooden sniper, I don't think you would ever have to lead your shot.

Think how reliable the sniper is now. You pull the trigger when it is on someone's head, you get a kill. If you had to lead your shot, how great would the sniper be then? Themore hardcore players would have a higher advantage with that weapon. When you add things in that are for the more hardcore players, the casual players get turned off.

Less casual players = less players.

Progressively, Halo has gotten more and more casual ever since Halo 1. I doubt that trend will just turn around.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

R.I.P. Halo 2

Halo 2 did not require one to lead their shots.

And I'm gonna have to say I like it better without.

I think sniping, at least when fishing for headshots, is plenty hard enough already

the concept is more realistic but I like what they did with halo 3's by dialing back on the auto aim, as I think myself and most others found halo 2's sniper far too easy
