Does anyone think that the Rookie will actually be able to regroup with any of the squad in real time and not just flashback? Post your thoughts please.

I am a whisper on the wind...

It is possible if the ViDoc is anything to go by, I mean if Buck and Romeo find Dutch and Micky, they could all try to find The Rookie.

Hey guess what!? I play CoD more than Halo, but I'm not an annoying fanboy. I love CoD more, but I like how involved the Halo Community is...

How are we suppose to know? If the game isnt out yet

I'm guessing that in the finale, you find your team and have to fight together, against a boss or something.

i don't know. Just guessing.

True, I was thinking somewhere along the same lines, possibly not all of the squad, but if somehow it does work out that would be interesting.

I agree.

The ViDoc also makes you wonder, why is The Rookie missing and where is Dare?

actually, if you go through the achievements they had, it says something about completing some mission alone or with another ODST. could just mean co-op
although if i were to make a guess i think you'd be able to find 'em all by going through each beacon

I sense a plot twist!!! ;) Honestly though, half of my reason for buying the game would be story alone. When I saw the E3 demo where they showed the segment with the ONI Alpha site I was thinking that there would possibly some interesting things we might learn about ONI. I need to go watch the Vidoc again.

Lol, I have watched it tons of times yet it never gets boring. I only wish that it was longer....

Ah, they never are :p Bungie and their secrets.

True, but it did seem like the Halo 3 ViDoc's were longer.

Darn secrets!!!

Do you honestly know what think means? Thinking is your own personal opinion. If you don't know your opinion because of a game isn't out yet, you should seek mental health. I know a great therapist if you need one.

Anywaysss, I suppose that they could all live, everyone loves a happy ending.

Happy endings hardly ever sell very well though, plus it makes the game more dramatic if a character or two dies.

But if they're any more responsive than the marine AI I might just fall in love, if they die I'd be devastated lol

My point exactly, it adds depth to the story if you cut a character off or take them away. People get attached to someone and then that person is taken away and it adds feeling to the game.

Definitely, it also seems to be more of a team system too, whereas master chief was the one man show, these ODST's went through boot camp together and the nicknames alone indicate attachment. The story team knows their stuff.

Well time to hit the sack for tonight, i'll be on to see some more of this thread tomorrow. Dream of giant slingshots and ODST.

They definitely do, but another thing in the Vidoc is Romeo's attitude, he seems hostile towards Buck if you haven't noticed.

I've noticed that too. He seems like a dick to everybody...

And everyone knows that when this sort of thing happens, the only way to redeem yourself is to die in dramatic fashion to let your friends escape.

D:

As for the rest, I think Buck and Dutch die as well. DARE will continue on working at ONI, leaving her to think about her orders that seemed so important, and Mickey and the Rookie will one of the ODST's in charge of located the Master Chief.

That would be awesome. Well, for me anyway. In any case, Romeo and Buck will die.

The rookie is missing because he is knocked out in his drop pod.

  • 08.17.2009 9:30 PM PDT

My guess is that they all die it is a reasonable assumption because there is never going to be a sequel and Bungie said the ending was a shocker.........

  • 08.17.2009 10:01 PM PDT

it might be like gow2 one or more ppl (if anyone i think dare) being captured and u have to rescue them

  • 08.17.2009 10:10 PM PDT

I actually made a thread with a pic from the ViDoc of the whole ODST gang back together, but Romeo didn't have his sniper and was injured, so they will all at least regroup, but I can't say they will all live.

EDIT: Heres the pic of the squad. I only just realized that the ODST up front is in fact Buck, so we at least know that Romeo lives past the ordeal of when his sniper is bent, and that they will most likely regroup.
