Glass Galaxies - a theme for bungie.net

Per audacia ad astra. Halo Reach | Destiny

I only got into Halo in early 2007, so I think I missed out on a fair bit.. I've never been able to sword/roocket jump, ever. But I was blown away when I first played Halo 2. Just playing a few games of Halo 2 online at my cousin's house was enough to make me go out and buy an Xbox 360 a couple of days later. I have some great memories of Halo 2 around the time I first started playing (plus memories of the Halo 3 Beta). Glitching and stuff, it was all a lot of fun. I still play Halo 2 from time to time, mainly when I just want to play for pure fun (having no ranks, service records, EXP and all that is a blessing).

When I can have a 0.5 k/d in a game but still play it every single day and become pretty much addicted to it, then it's gotta be a great game. That's exactly what Halo 2 was to me.

"A mans true maturity should be based on how he acts when his identity is a secret."
Halo Reach is how a Halo should be. Simple, Fun, and Awesome. See you online.

Wham Bam Thank you ma'am. That video always makes me laugh.

Anyways I remember getting Halo 2 and bringing my xbox to a friends house. [everyone else had Playstations and Gamecubes] and firing up XBL. Too many good memories.

hello i am nobel six lololololololol

"The enemy came. He was beaten. I am tired. Goodnight."

"I think Reach is a pretty cool guy. eh drives froklifts and doesn't afraid of anything."

Halo 2 was the first shooter that I ever owned. I was 12 years old if I remember correctly. It was the game to play back then. I hadn't even played Halo 1 yet. I remember having to play on Easy, because my bad thumb coordination only allowed for either walking or shooting- move to where you can see someone, stand still, aim and shoot, reload if necessary, then shoot everywhere and try to hide when my shields go down. Ah, those were the days.

I beat the game cooperatively with my dad, who wasn't much better than me. He was the person to bought the game for me, anyway. Even if it did come out of the bargain bin (it's not even in the right case- the manual doesn't fit properly).

I ended up beating the game alone the first time, I'd gotten down the 'walking-and-shooting-at-the-same-time thing' to some degree. I remember being like 'FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU' when I saw the ending. Then I played Halo 1, finally. Yes, out of order, but it was more like some sort of Star Wars sort of thing.

Let's skip ahead a bit.

My best friend also had Halo 2 but also an Xbox Live connection. I would just short of harass him to let me play online. I wasn't too good, but at least the ranking system prevented me from getting my ass handed to me from the likes of Fata1ity.

It wasn't until 2007, a few days after the end of the Halo 3 Beta that I finally got an Xbox Live connection of my own. Got a new (but similar) moniker to use around B.net. Anyway, because I just barely missed the Beta, Halo 2 was all that I played for a while. I didn't need to harass anybody anymore to get my fix of Halo 2 Live. Felt like there was so much to do, almost too much to do, with all of those playlists and the great maps and gametypes and everything. Too much to take in all at once, but in a good way.

Speaking of the Multiplayer, Halo 2 was one of those games that was always good for parties. I can't remember how many times I've stayed up all night with my friends and played Halo 2 the entire time. Coagulation and Ivory Tower were the two best maps, but mostly Coagulation. There's some closed-quarters areas and some open areas for vehicle driving and sniping. I loved whoring the tank, or driving in a Gauss Hog as my friend (who couldn't walk and shoot at the same time) somehow managed to rack up the kills. We would just play standard Slayer and make up teams as we went along. I'd always kill my teammates by accident so they'd get mad and leave. Or when all of us teamed up against one person, I'd say something along the lines of "Execute Order 66" as if I'm some ugly old -blam!- on some hologram transmission.

We actually did create some sort of gametype with rules. I use the term create lightly, because it's really just a one-sided Kill the Carrier/VIP gametype that we take credit for. Three people are on one team, protecting the "Carrier" who has an Energy Sword. The one lone player has to, *ahem* "Kill the Carrier" with whatever he or she deems necessary. Typically a Rocket Launcher. No score, and you just keep playing until you get tired of it. Ivory Tower was the only map that we ever tried our gametype on.

I should also note that the alias gravy was conceived at one of said parties. Just woke up one day, thought up the most annoying name that I could think of (yet surprisingly, I never thought of yo mama) and I've been using it ever since. The 666 only came along because gravy was already taken. The number relates to my birthday.

@Grumpy2, I don't think I ever played with Dark Helmet. I came across the video ages ago and had it saved on my old computer.

I don't know exactly who discovered the old sword/rocket lunge, but I was first taught it (by someone who claimed he was in the party that first discovered it) in November of 04.

Anyone remember when Zombies first emerged?
Zombies on Foundation was the classic game.
I remember mashing the B button to try and get the boxes in front of the door. Loved it.
(haha @ honour rules).
Infection on Halo 3 is good, but just doesn't feel the same for me.

Oh, and Zombies is definitely played with no shields/radar and only shotguns.
