Welcome to the last day of the rest of your life.

Lol sorry bout the thread title... anyway i was reading i cant remember if it was a weekly update or a bungie blog post, but anyway they said somewhere in it, Halo 3 Odst disk = install and second disk = dont install, now i think i know what install means... Do that thing on the xbox where it makes it run faster? but anyway why do we have to do this? or is it just a suggestion from them?

It's a suggestion. Remember, installing Halo 3 makes it slower, installing ODST makes it faster.

I have my halo 3 on my hard drive, and it runs much faster and smoother. So I do not know why Bungie says not to do it.... I have not seen anything slow down.

No lag noticed. Game plays normally. Even done co-op with no issues. Care to try again?

It may be hard to notice because you have a bad connection to begin with? I have a great connection and when I tested it it was very noticeable especially in campaign.

You have been able to install xbox games on the hard drive for a while now, its just like installing a PC game.

Theoretically since the data is stored on your HD already its quicker to access the information and it should speed up loading times etc however since games made before the update were not designed with installation in mind it doesn't always work like its supposed to.

EDIT: It also takes up a lot of space on your HD.
EDIT 2: I forgot to quote, this is for the guy who was asking what installing was.
