blarg, bow chicka wow wow, boomshakalaka,

does anyone else think the fuel rod gun is underpowered? it's slow moving(you can almost outrun them in ghosts) , 3 (i think) shots for a kill, and the explosions are tiny. improvements that should be made are: faster moving 2 shot kill, one if direct hit, faster moving and lock on to vehicles. any thoughts on how these changes would go in reach?

I dont think a fuel rod should lock on or be faster, but I agree that a fuel rod explosion should be much larger and more powerful. This might be one reason why you dont see it in matchmaking.

I am also annoyed at times with the fuel rod, but I have to point out that you can carry 30 rounds if memory serves correctly

that along with it's high rate of fire easily compensates for it's other shortcomings

Yes, the Fuel Rod needs to be changed, if not its blast radius or its ability to bounce off certain things.

Since its a video game I think the laws of physics dont apply (plus its covenant tech. they make heat seeking explosive needles and shielded radioactive rounds), but if you are going to bring physics into it, they might have a problem making an explosion that wont explode the highly explosive material to make it shoot faster.

even though the fuel rod gun can hold 30 bullets, thats useless because you won't be able to use them because you will die. its like having a car with 900 horsepower, but with no wheels

actually it's nothing like that...

you can fire 5 of those rounds before you could fire 2 with a spartan laser, in relatively close quarters it's a brilliant weapon, you want it to be a rocket launcher, what I'm saying is it's a grenade launcher ( at least in the hands of a spartan, due to no homing ability )

it's good at what it does, but not at what some of us want it to be.

It should be more like the one if Halo PC. It can kill things easily, but so it isn't like the rocket launcher, it shoots in an ark, so you have to have some skill to use it. I think this should be in Reach.

Yes, I'm thinking the way it fires should be changed to Halo: Combat Evolved PC's version. I simply cannot handle the concept of it exploding in air, I perhaps think sooner than the rocket launcher and the moment where the speed lowers.

i can see what you are saying, but for a grenade launcher its slow. I shot a fuel rod then got in a ghost and drove past it. But its meant to be stronger, if not i think we should see more heavy covanant weapons in reach

If i was a Bungie employee in charge of changing the fuel rod i would:

Shot needed to kill: 2

Ricochet: Yes

Explosion Blast: 25% bigger

Damage: 15% more damage

Plasma bullets/... per magazine: 4

Magazines: 3

Reload time: 3 seconds

Bullet speed travel: 5-10 feet per second. [This is something you have to test and see, and i can't]

You have 4 bullets per magazine which means you can kill maximum 2 people. [+]

After you kill 2 people you have to hide for 3 seconds to reload.[-]

It is hard to hit people with it because of the ricochet effect.[-]

The bullet travel time isn't fast.[-]

It's blast launches people in the air [Rocket laucher effect] [+]

It makes vehicles flip and blow up with 1-2 shots [Depends on what kind of vehicule] [+]

So it's +,-,-,-,+,+

I think it's fair
