The game is still going to sell well, they are just saying it probably wont sell as many copies as halo 3, probably because of lack of multiplayer

Or atleast much new content in that department.

Yarr, I'm a pirate.

Well, if you think about it, Halo 2 left on this GIANT cliffhanger and there was this huge drive to "finish the fight". But now everything has changed and the marketing approach changes with it. ODST probably won't sell as well as Halo 3 but compared to some other games it will still sell terrificly.

Its like others said most of the public doesnt even know anything about ODST.
Half of my friends didn't know about Firefight or that it came with 2 CDs until a week or two ago when I told them.

I'm sure it won't sell as well as Halo 3, but it will still sell very well.

I won't be getting this game until it comes down in price £40/$60 for an expansion pack. Yeah right.

Modern Warfare 2 for me.

Well you can already get it for £30-35.

It will sell millions if they just advertise it well. Hell it worked for Halo Wars. If it has the Halo name on it and has a good commercial it will bring all the people on the fence over to buying it.
If they run a commercial with the ending of the desperate measures vidoc it will sell as good as halo 3(you cant say no to Fillion). This of post of course has nothing to do with the hardcore gamer who is already buying it. But considering the hardcore gamer isnt the bulk of sale... advertising will be crucial.

Here's the problem: The public is mostly stupid or ignorant people. That poll in the article means nothing. It was a poll to see which game people were more interested in. And the only reason MAG won is because of the fact it has 256 multiplayer. We don't know whether it will be good, whether it will be laggy, there has barely been any gameplay released. And just because they are more interested in MAG, doesn't mean it will sell more. One important fact: The PS3 has not sold 3 times as much as the Xbox. So how could a PS3 exclusive get more votes than a 360 exclusive: Either people are more interested in MAG (because it looks interesting) or those are all PS3 owners. Either way, I don't think MAG will sell 3 times as many copies.

Here's where the stupid people come in. Most of the public are thinking the same two things:
1.WTFF?!? ODST IZ $60$ XPANSHUN? BUNJIS RIPD US OF!!!!!
2.WTFF?!? NO MULTIPLAYREZ? I ALRDY BOUGHT HALO3 MAPS! BUNJIS RIPD US OF!!!!!

Most people don't even know about Firefight, or the length of the campaign. Most people are still running on info back from when it was still Halo 3: Recon.

But the silver lining: Reach beta key. Once the Reach beta becomes available, and when it starts to rock people's socks off, more people will buy ODST. Just look what happened to Crackdown. People will buy ODST in the wake of the Reach beta, and voila...

My troll sense is tingling.

It's because of all the people that are mad about the price. Saying things like "the maps are a rip-off, I already bought them" When it was stated back when the game was just an expansion that all the maps would come free with it. Plus it's bigger than Halo 3, so it's definitely worth the price.

well its not an expansion pack anymore, its a full length game with hours and hours of campaign... and a new cool multiplayer gametype, and it comes with halo 3 basically - the campaign. oh and three nw maps....... seems to me that it is worth the 60 dollars people are complaining about
