In Halo 3, Forge was the coolest thing I've ever seen! It's definetly a money maker right? Well, in Reach, here's what I'm hoping for and some cool ideas that I saw-

Objects- In Halo 3, there weren't enough objects at all. There were too many things in the campaing that were cool but not in forge. Weapon boxes, couches, sanbags, etc. Anything in the campaing should be in forge.

Limits- The limits are pointless and annoying. It limits your ideas and imagination. Like only 1 flamethrower and 8 of each Teleporter? Come on. No more money or individual object limits. I dont mind the overall limit because it stops lag.

Bots- An interesting idea are bots in custom games. How would this work? Well, lets say in the "GOALS" section, there would be AI path, objective, and vehicle path/objective. These would be different for CTF, Assault, VIP,etc.
AI path-You could put down a marker that tells an AI unit to go to that marker. The markers options would say: How long the AI would stay there, to pick up a gun, get in a vehicle, crouch down, secure the area within 10m-50m, snipe, protect the area, not to go in that area, or use equitment (place a trip mine).
Objective- This could mean a certain objective, like Pick up a flag or get the bomb.
The marker could also have a number linking it to a certain AI (if there are 30 AI on a map, there will be about 100 markers on the map, and each AI would have 2-4 objectives in their path).

AI customization- In the gametype, AI traits should be similair to Player traits(Starting weapons, damage, health, movement, etc.), but one thing would be different. It's behavior. In this option, it would say:
Range: 25m-150m
Difficulty (How accurate they are): Easy-Legdendary
Species: Jackel, Grunt, Hunter, Brute, etc./Marine, ODST, Spartan, etc.
Rank: Basicly their color (Grunt: private, Brute: Captain)

OK, so heres what you would do in the AI options in the game variant: 1. You would choose AI.
2. Pick number of bots (ex: 40 bots)
3. There would be 40 bots with there own traits (Each bot would have these options below).
4. The AI traits are: Team (ex:Defenders would be UNSC and Attackers would then be the Covenent), Species (if that bot is on defenders, you would pick a human of some sort ex:Spartan), Then you would pick their weapon (UNSC weapons for a Spartan), Then you would pick their health, sheilds, armor varients/ colors.
5. You would then do this for every one of the forty bots.

Infection: Instead of just being a different color, the bots/players should be a flood version of themselves (an infected marine would be a combat flood). Then their traits would decide if they have a weapon or not.

I know this sounds complicated, but it's possible. If Bungie can make intelligent AI in the campaing, then why not customizable AI? But I still think it will be a unique challenge for the creators.

yeah, I want to get as many topics on bots as I can, so I just decided to make my own, because this "bot" idea is really cool. I also like your idea on the waypoints. I origanally got the idea for bots in Reach because someone mentioned it and I mod Star Wars Battlefront 2, so I basicly listed the bot planning from that.

Well, for improvements I want in Forge that might need to turned into a Map Editor, see here. (topic is dead, don't post in it please, just linking so I don't have to retype it)

I'd also like zones. Zones are areas like VIP destinations and hills, except they would be invisible. They would give certain teams different properties. For instance, it would give the red team infinite ammo, or blue team no shields, etc... This would help with making custom games.

We also need lots of scenery, and all Halo Wars vehicles (except Cyclopses, because those weren't vehicles).

Bots would be nice, but I don't think we need AI. Anyone who has played Time Splitters two or three most likely has played a mutliplayer game or two. On custom maps, AI often got stuck walking in to walls, or got confused and didn't know where to go. Lifeless bots would be fine with me.

I could see so many bugs with this...

You gotta first understand that the Xbox can only do so much. All of this "We want unlimited money" and "Unlimited items!" will only go to a certain extent. If it were Sandbox, you probably wouldnt go to far beyond 2000 bucks. Even on a budget gliched Foundry, in forge objects would flash and create small moments of lag.

Maybe on the next console...

I do think having place-able death barriers (appear as red transparent planes) would be nice, and have the same type of length and width modifier that hill markers have would be quite useful...

Well with object limits, I absolutly hate them. As for money, 1500 bucks is the minimum I'm hoping for. With the bots they would have paths (that you make around the walls) so they dont run into walls and the zone idea sounds cool.

Awesome idea i would really like destructible objects like barricades but dont take one hit to break

i would also like a big open map like sandbox but with different items that werent for just ascetic purposes. crates crates are da bomb but sadly most of my awesome map ideas for infection on sandbox involve using crates as movable barricades

yeah, each map has limits to customization. Sandbox has no scenery like crates, spools, boxes, etc. I agree we need more maps like foundry and sandbox (like 3-5, and each one has a different enviroment) and yes more destructible objects like forklifts, barriers, fusion coils.

That's because the objects that were are using have too many unneeded polygons. The Block, Double on Sandbox has tons of useless bumps. If Bungie was to reduce the amount of polygons in each item to the bare minimum, that probably wouldn't happen.

More ideas:

-ability to edit color, texture and opacity on an object.
-ability to resize objects (x,y, and z individually)
-ability to position the x,y,z coordinates of objects
-ability to change the roll, pitch and yaw of objects
-ability to edit the last three properties of objects using a keypad type thing
-ability to create bump maps/height maps (whatever they are called)
-ability to create water
-ability to turn physics on or off for anything so we can make our own crates, barriers, etc...
-ability to cut certain geometry out of other geometry
-ability to place 'death barriers' as mentioned by Zorinth, but they should be transparent like on every other map
-ability to place customizable gravity lifts with different effects and heights/diameters
-ability to give objects basic scripting capabilities so we can make buttons, drawbridges, giant rotating things, etc...
-ability to enable/disable the more advanced options so new users aren't overwhelmed by them
-give us a completely blank map to build on. No preexisting objects at all.
-limit our maps to numbers of polygons total, not by some predetermined value
-fix the 'glitch' that causes walls to be uneven to conserve file size. Videos can be 16 megabytes easily, so why is Bungie trying to keep map sizes so low?
-allow us to have more than 100 items of user-created content

-ability to group objects together
-ability to copy/paste objects or groups
-ability to place soft ceilings to keep people from leaving the map.
-allow us to place the objective objects without changing gametype
-put in as many Halo Wars vehicles in forge as you can. They'll be like the Fuel Rod Gun and Incendiary grenades.
-allow us to alter the power and abilities of vehicles. Bungie did this on Avalanche with the Transport Hornet.

This coupled along with a Far Cry 2 style editor. That way we can basically create our own horde maps, and mini campaign missions.

I would pay $100 for this game if was a 2 disk set to fit all of this and more (Like what is in the post above this one and what Cheehwawa said).

Wanted Features
Object Sets: The ability to add objets to a set, name it, and than just say or select the object set and it appears
EXAMPLE: "Add object set, Door" and it adds all the objects you need to make a door

Items Can Stick To Vehicles:
Some way to determine weather or not items will stick to vehicles.
EXAMPLE: Add more turrets to a Warthog.

Items Will Stay In Place:
Some way to determine weather or not items will stay in place:
EXAMPLE: Place a round cage, then say no stick, there you have a hamster ball

Numbered Starting Spawns:
Ever had off balanced spawns because the game you were in was not full enough? Now, it will fill it up in the same order you designated each Starting Spawn with.
EXAMPLE: Player 1 is randomly chosen but always Started in the same place, anyone can be #1 but #1 is always in the same place

Death Spawns:
Died once? Still in game. Died Twice? Still in game. Died 3 times? then you have a certain spawn point.
EXPLANATION: Basically, its like having a certain number of lives, except you still live, you just spawn in a certain area, Death Spawns should be an Item of their own, and have a number you could choose determining how many deaths before people Spawn there.
EXAMPLE: Lets say Sandbox is in Reach, people can play in the default map untill they have died ten times, then they spawn in the Skybox with a Sniper.

Gametype Options:
Death Spawn=No score
EXPLANATION: After you have died x amount of times, you will still be able to play,wherever the forger wanted you to, but not be able to increase your score, another option would be invincibility after you have spawned at a death spawn, hey people would find a use for it.

Death Barriers:
They are the size of a Large shield door by default but can be manipulated to any size, they are a negative color version of a shield door, and have the option to be invisible.
EXAMPLE: A maze of mirrors, or rather, invisible death mirrors!

Area of Effect:
This can be done in Halo 3, but only in KOTH, it should work the same as KOTH variants that make you slow or fast in the hill except you have the option of what you want the area to do.
Options:
Having the ability to make the player
Slow
Invisible
Fast
Invincible
Higher Gravity
Lower Gravity
The area has the option to be invisible or like a KOTH marker.
And timer so it can spawn at a certain time
EXAMPLE: In Infection, lets say a player is camping the zombie spawn, now he is uber slow and cant jump, he wont be camping much longer because he is in a Area of Effect

Despawn timers:
This should be an option for every object, after a certain time (15, 30, etc..) to disapeer, much like a Re spawn timer.
EXAMPLE: The Alpha zombie is trapped in a box until one of the walls despawn at 30 seconds.

that would be an awesome idea for people who dont have live, internet is down, or even just want to practice
but this brings to mind the game engine
i wonder if that could be incorperated into Reach

the only way that bots would work is if they play on maps without like mazes like the only thing you could do to a map that still allows AI's to play is just put different weapons on it in forge otherwise it is impossible to have AI in custom games.
