Most people already know, but there will be no dual weilding weapons in halo 3:ODST

I`m kinda excited cos it was nooby dual weilding in halo 3 and it was cheap
I think bungie did this because since the smg and pistol are dual weildable in halo 3 and now they have scopes it would be really weird to have two scoped weapons at the same time...

Discuss how you feel about this, i want to hear some ideas

Silenced smg and pistol are not in multiplayer anyway...

  • 08.19.2009 1:43 PM PDT

i like halo3
=)

cheap?

  • 08.19.2009 1:43 PM PDT

That's all I have to say about that.

Marines arent as strong. There arms are puny. (he-he!)

yes it is cheap because its basically having a weapon that is twice as strong and with extra ammo

Most dual-wield weapons couldn't be used effectively except for close range anyways, where you would have to drop one for a melee, grenade, or weapon swap. Plus, it takes longer to reload.

It's not cheap by any means.

well actually for melee just press b and you will drop a weapon and whack, and for swapping weapons just swap it as you shoot one of your other guns.. but it does take longer to reload but you can be smart and fire a whole clip then start reloading switch firing to your other weapon and so on, the only thing wrong is grenades

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

So? Everyone uses dual-wieldable weapons in Halo 3. I was facing off with a general a few hours ago and he resorted to dual wielded SMG because his team was loosing.

It's not our fault that you lacked the common sense to dual-weild.

no your not a marine your ODST much stronger then a marine but ODST have to much gear on more gear or dual weild weapons they choose gear from droping 8000000000000,000000000000 feet in the air ODST FTW

Only Spartans can duel-weld and be effectively accurate.

Nope, MJOLNIR Mark V Spartan Armor can't recognize multiple weapons. Why would a Body Suit?

Go Go Happy Time!

ODST's can dual wield, but their helmet doesn't notice the other weapon. So you wouldn't know how much ammo will be in the other weapon and it won't recognize the crosshair for it.

I'm pretty sure you can still control your other arm to pick up another weapon, the lack of an ammunition count on a high tech visor doesn't stop people dual-weilding

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Using duals in Halo 3 was not cheap, it was laughable.

But the massive recoil would.

Spartans don't really experience much recoil when dual-wielding because they are super-strong. ODSTs, or any kind of soldier that is close to a natural soldier, would suffer from recoil.

Notice how this guy winds up stepping back a few times because of said recoil. Dual-wielding guns as a real soldier would be downright idiotic because the recoil will jump up quite a bit.

I'm pretty sure the average man could easily dual-weild two pistols.

Yes, an average man could. But it is never recommended, because you couldn't aim it. Plus, I think that he meant dual wielding ALL dual-wieldable weapons.

Raaaaaawwwwrrrr!!!

Zuka... that was the greatest 18sec of my life. I have never seen anyone do that before. And i see why ODST doesn't have a duel-wield option. It would make the game even more unrealistic.

The Youtube video Zuka posted says it all, really. He was forced to take a few steps back to compensate for the recoil. Add into the mix that being forced to step back like that in the Halo-verse would be terrible for gameplay purposes.

That guy could not be running forward while shooting those two guns. Nor could he be jumping.

just put it this way... spartans are all rambo style rolling out firing chainguns, and they have super foam like armor making them basically like superman in other words a super soldier, plus they are really strong.

ODST`s have silenced small weapons such as smg`s, hiding behind cover and being aware of how much fire they are taking

Gets worse with other guns known for bad recoil.
