Subject: Halo: Reach = Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST + Halo: Reach!

Ok well this is just an idea, kind of spun off from how they are releasing Halo 3: ODST.

Since Halo: Reach will be the last Halo game, I think they should offer a collectors/limited edition game that includes every game from the series on its own disc.

The reason:

Most people dont play the older Halo games because either A) They dont have the disc, B) They arent playable (scratched etc..) or C) Not enough people play it anymore so multiplayer isnt worth the effort. Im not suggesting that they redo all of the campaigns, multiplayer maps, graphics, etc.. just that they add them all in the same box.

Halo: Reach can still have its own disc and be its own campaign, multiplayer etc, but why not include a complete series set for the fans out there. It would be GREAT if we could have 1 disc with all of the multiplayer maps from all Halo games, and you could just select to play on them without being reskinned, but I know that isnt possible.

Reach is the last game and it should have bits and pieces of every game incorporated into it.. be it weapons, map remakes, campaign flashbacks, etc..

I'd buy it.

yeah maybe for the collecters edition i like the idea or else they could just sell halo : reach and then after a while start to sell Halo : the complete series or whatever.

I wouldn't MIND... but I dont care either.

knowing M$, it won't happen.
they MIGHT maybe (unlikely) put HCE ... but H2/H3/ODST too? forget it.

m$ does like money...but can you blame them =P

I am?

Ok let me break it down for you..

First of all.. in no way did I ever say anywhere have I ever mentioned anything close to ever even coming anywhere near saying that I wanted them or anything else for free.

Second of all.. since when has there ever been in the history of games EVER been a collectors/limited edition that wasnt more expensive than the regular version?

Third of all.. People arent buying Halo CE, Halo 2, and not very many new Halo 3 games. This way, they could charge like $150 for the hardcore fans that wanted all 5 games and essentially make $90 more off of Reach per unit sold than just selling the $60 version. Plus they would have more people playing more of their games. Im not sure what the actual price would be, Im just using that figure to explain this to you.

about your second point :
of course collector/whatever should cost more and have more content, that's not what I am saying. but a company usually don't give out games as content.

H3 still costs 60 bucks new, and 45$ second hand in stores. M$ still makes money out of people that don't have internet. ODST... well, do I need to explain? like H3, but in moar.

including all 4 games would be way too much. not only they'd loose money, but also, the poor gamer would have too much stuff... I mean, FIVE games!

Halo 3: ODST, Disc 2 = Halo 3 = content

technically, they just recycled the MP of H3.
that's not actually new content since you most likely have it already.

By that logic; most likely, people already have the older Halo games.

Which really isnt true.

not really...

my point is that ODST and H3 share the same mp. it's the only game in all halo games to have something like this.
ODST's mp = H3's mp, literally. while H2 mp =/= H3 mp =/= HCE mp =/= HR mp ...

halo 3 is 40$ new now.....

Halo's Tenth Anniversary - July 21st, 2009 Thank you for the outstanding game Bungie!
Halo Series fan since it's creation.

It would probably cost so much money, if it came out. But I beg to differ, I don't think anybody would buy it, unless it came with some sort of code that people would buy it to get.

And I don't think Halo: Reach will be the last game, considering how it's bestowing the events before Halo: CE, so they may have one final game, especially because Bungie left us hanging pretty bad at the end of Halo 3, which makes most people think there will be another game, which will probably be the last. I think there'll be another game, and it'll possibly be the last game.

Back to the every disk...

Like I said before, there would have to be a reason to buy it, because most of the diehard Halo fans own all the Halo games, so Bungie nor Microsoft wouldn't receive much of a profit off of it. Unless somebody was buying all of the games for someone for their birthday or some occasion of that nature.

No.

It would be badass if reach came with an xbl compatable Halo ce.

But it won't happen.

From my FAQ :
is Reach the VERY LAST Halo game?
NO. it's Bungie's last Halo game for some time. let me explain:
Halo belongs to M$, and the game has been developed by Bungie AND Microsoft Game Studio, since the very first Halo game.
Recently, M$ created a new studio called "343 Industries" in charge of everything related to Halo. That studio has a few former Bungie employees in it, like a sub Bungie studio.

So, this means more Halo games will follow (Including, but not limited to : Halo Wars 2, Halo 4)

Incorrect. Halo 3: ODST does NOT have a multiplayer.

technically and strictly technically, no, ODST have no mp.
but since it gives more stuff to H3's mp, it's common sense to see it as the full H3 mp experience... and so, a new mp, specifically for that game.

The people who buy collectors editions are almost always hardcore fans. Why would a hardcore fan not have all the games ?

  • 08.19.2009 5:35 PM PDT

I am a hardcore fan and at one point had each of the games and through moving throughout college, playing the games incessantly, and other variables, I am now down to my one and only Halo 3 disc.
