Subject: BUNGIE in a Rush?

"This is Sierra-315, sir. We're pinned down by enemy snipers. Do you have a visual?"
"Roger that."
"Fire when ready."
-POW! POW!-
"Targets down."
"Roger."

Do you think BUNGIE is in a rush to get the Halo series to an end? It seems with a game this year, and a game next year, they're rushing things a bit. Do you think them rushing will ruin the visual aspects of the game? Seeing as they might not have the time to make all of the characters as they should be?

Discuss!

Reach has been in development since H3 was done.

that'll make a 3 year long development. definitely decent enough imo.

Haha, nice D0nald. It's just, they're whipping out the Halo games like they want it to end quickly. What's their next big game? Is there one?

and halo ODST was made by a small team of bungie employees because it was meant to be a game add on to be downloaded but it was just too large and so they just put it on a disc and copied all of the over stuff like forge and the halo 3 maps on to halo ODST disc 2 to get more sells or something.

LoL, just because there coming out with games back to back, it shouldn't bother you, instead, why aren't you saying, OMZG, im so syked that there are more games about Halo are coming out, im so happy they didn't give up on the series, and since so many fans wanted this to happen, we are all happy, even Stosh.

It's been in development since Halo 3's release. Halo 3: ODST was something like 10% of the Bungie work force, plus it only took a year. Sorta shows what Bungie can do.

3 years x 9 times more workers then ODST = Reach having a potential of 27 times the scope of Halo 3: ODST. Imagine.

Very true, and I can almost guarentee that ODST is going to be amazing, and its only been in development for a short time, just wait and see what Reach is going to be like.

They do seem to be rushing a little bit, I mean ODST has not even been released yet. If odst is the next big thing and sell like halo 3 did, Bungie will lose out on a fairly large sum of money because Halo reach will be out in 1 year after. Then they won't get full value on either games.(Hey I'm not saying I'm not happy with this, more halo for ME!!)
After alll that loss what will they do next, make a halo movie?

Wait, what? You're saying that if ODST made the same sales as H3 did they would lose alot of money? How? Halo 3 broke recorded with it sales...... AND ODST isn't even its big title....

Some people might not agree with you because "ZOMG Halo iz soo awzom I buy 20 gamz at samz time" well yeah. But you've got a point. They would get a better return if the release dates were farther apart but you have to look at the big picture too.

If a game is created with the best software of it's time then by the time it comes out that software is outdated by three years give or take. Now if Reach is made with the same software as ODST and it was released any later it would look unpolished and old(ish).

So I'm thinking Reach could probably be released a lot sooner but they are thinking what you are thinking. So, they decided to give gamers a year to calm down and be uber excited for Reach.

I agree though, Hype is usually higher when concentrated. Two very hype-ey(?) games spread apart reap more hype. But when placed together the hype becomes more of a hill than a spike.

Really its not being realised any faster than any other halo game. ODST is just an expansion and there has always been two years inbetween launch dates of the halo gamse. Halo 3 came out 2007 this comes out 2010. So its just like all the other halo games.
